Here is some info on it

HeathersMummy · 06/05/2008 20:35

Golly, I was only gone for a day and look what happens - lots of BFPs .
Congratulations ladies

scared1976 · 06/05/2008 21:25

hello ladies, may i join you? found out i was pregnant today with no 1 after 18 months of trying. i think i am technically due in the first week of Jan. very excited! Congrats to everyone else too. Hope to pick up some good advice from all you experienced mums.

moosemama · 07/05/2008 10:09

congratulations scared1976

Happy to report moods under control today and boys gone to school happy - phew!

Triggles · 07/05/2008 11:44

Hi scared1976 congrats!

moosemama glad you're having a better day today!

I'm trying to do some prep work for our move, but so much of it involves lifting and DH is being absolutely manic about me doing any lifting. So - I'm list maker today I guess. I'll have to work out the menu plan for the rest of the month (using what's left in the food cupboard!) - could make for some interesting meals

MissHairspray · 07/05/2008 14:22

Hi guys, starting to worry about the prospect of having to get the tube in rush hour when I might be feeling ill - anyone have any advice? I'm only 5 weeks gone and it was awful this morning, so hot and I started feeling a bit sick so then got panicky about it. I think any ms is mostly all in my head at the moment, although having said that i'm starving but don't feel like anything to eat, and when I do eat I feel quesy for a bit so maybe that's the start of it.

It's a bit strange isn't it, feeling like your body is just doing its own thing and you have no idea what it may or may not do next!

MsSparkle · 07/05/2008 19:29

CONGRATULATIONS scared1976

Triggles · 07/05/2008 20:59

MissHairspray can you bring a handkerchief or something spritzed with a more tolerable scent that you can hold in front of you while on the tube?

Shanster · 08/05/2008 00:50

Hello, Just found out I am PG with my first! I am due on 12th Jan I think. Don't really feel any different except that I feel like I have period pains. Wish I felt preggers, then it might feel real!!

Triggles · 08/05/2008 07:32

Shanster congrats! Don't worry! I'm sure the m/s, sore bbs, and all that will kick in soon - enjoy!

Triggles · 08/05/2008 07:35

Speaking of m/s - I've had some in little waves, but I've noticed that every morning I seem to wake up literally feeling "hung over." I haven't had any alcohol, and I'm thinking this has got to be part of the m/s as I don't normally feel this way. Kind of "oh, I need to eat something and this will go away, but I don't want to go near food" feeling. It's reassuring, as symptoms go, but bleah!

scared1976 · 08/05/2008 16:21

Triggles · 08/05/2008 22:58

i wouldn't go any earlier than 8 weeks. by then you should see baby and heartbeat, generally, although some are a bit later.

barristermum · 09/05/2008 10:00

Hi ladies - just crashing in to say good luck to you all - I had my first, a dear daughter, on 10th January and remember joining this thread about a year ago - cannot believe how quickly time has gone. I had a private scan at 8 weeks just to set mind at rest - you can go before but it can add to anxiety if you don't see stuff and have to go back again.
Odd recommendation but remember to buy a snowsuit for baby in good time as if you start looking in december as we did they can often be bringing in summer clothes and there are none around - and get 0-3 months - anything smaller and it simply won't last whereas big just looks cute on TINY baby.
Oooh - so pleased for you all it almost makes me want to start trying again

chefswife · 09/05/2008 11:07

Ok?. The exercise thing is doing me in. I run about 3 miles, 4 times a week, but am seriously having difficulty. My doctor said it was fine to continue throughout the first trimester, but man, I?m dragging my ass. I don?t even want to walk fast. It?s like everything has just turned slow mo for me. I can make through a 20 minute pilates or yoga session though but was hoping anyone had any good, low impact aerobics videos for recommendation.

TheSlightestTeuch · 09/05/2008 14:17

Hullo all, welcome and congrats to the new additions to the thread - aren't we filling up nicely?!

I've not much time to post at the mo, but wanted to make sure thsi thread pops up on my threads

I'm around 6wks now, and I have a constant 'hangover' feeling, odd nausea but no sickness and lots of ligament stretching and aches. I am already down to one pair of jeans, since the - ahem - tighter ones just make me feel sick as they press on my tum!!! . I can't bear to have to crack open the matty-wear already but I also don't want to buy clothes that won't fit in a few days weeks!

I shoudl be seeing MW on monday so we'll see what happens with scans, etc. I had an early scan at 9 wks last time as previous pg was a missed mc.

MsSparkle · 09/05/2008 14:36

barristermum, thanks but i don't agree with you about the 0-3 months clothes thing My dd was in newborn stuff for the first couple of months as 0-3 was so big it was just silly putting her in them. My friends dd wasn't in 0-3 until she was over 3 months old! I would also advise any new mum NOT to by any baby clothes as you are showered with so many as gifts when the baby is born you just end up with too much that won't get worn

I have been so moody today, i have just felt yuck I couldn't be bothered with customers today, you know what it's like working with public! I don't see the doctor until next Thursday.

1973magpie · 09/05/2008 20:46

Hi, room for another?

Congratulations everyone!

Have just found out rather unexpectedly that No 3 is on the way (starting to get used to the idea now though )

I think my due date is the 6th January as lmp was 1st April (very apt )

No major symptoms yet, occasional nausea, achy bbs but no sickness (very unusual for me was extremely sick with both my dds - maybe this one's a blue one?)

MsSparkle · 09/05/2008 21:08

1973magpie CONGRATULATIONS! Are you secretly hoping for a blue one or do you not really mind?

chefswife · 09/05/2008 21:09

I also don?t have much in the way of symptoms just very tired. Think I might be missing a bit of iron? not drinking my weekly quota of Guinness. I?m at 6 weeks also but haven?t experienced not fitting into anything yet? although my little black number might be snug if I tried it on? not going to. don?t need to know.

MsSparkle · 09/05/2008 21:11

chefswife are you taking your folic acid?

chefswife · 09/05/2008 21:11

Oh yes.

MsSparkle · 09/05/2008 21:16

I don't know what to suggest about the iron? Maybe some dark greens or something? Sorts out constipation

Triggles · 09/05/2008 21:18

TheSlightestTeuch - That's exactly how I've been feeling - like I'm hungover, especially when I first get up. My clothing selection is getting limited, but mainly because I've packed half of it, as we're moving at the end of the month.

I'm planning on registering right away at the new surgery as soon as we've moved, and then getting an appointment with midwife then, as I will be about 8-9 wks then. I hope it will be enough time to schedule the NT scan and bloodwork at that point.

How's everyone doing today?
