Evening! Sorry I can't help MH, feeling a bit the same myself regarding the timing.

On the eating front, I've been having soft boiled eggs, smoked salmon, peanut butter (which is of course recommended again). Have gone off wine thank god (it kept making me feel too drunk very quickly - one of the pointers that I may be pregnant as we completely weren't expecting this one).

I'm also feeling dog tired, even though my little one is letting me sleep well at the moment.

No cravings yet, though keep getting really hungry but when I eat getting full very quickly too. odd. don't remember that last time at all.
xx

MissHairspray, I panic all the time about how I'm going to cope, did with no 1 too. But although I put off having a baby for far too long (hence 1st baby at nearly 38, will be 39 next month), moving out of London back up north to be closer to my mum/where I come from is also part of my plan. We're lucky though, as we bought a long time ago (1998) and have a bit of equity in the house even with falling prices, so that should help us. No chance of being able to move to a 3 bedroom even in this relatively cheap area of London though.

Where in London are you - north, east, south, west? And where are you hoping to move to?

elkiedee · 29/05/2008 00:23

Welcome to another with a scarily small age gap. And I thought I was mad (ds will be oooh, a whole 20 months or so)

fymandbean · 29/05/2008 06:32

morning! my ds will be 3 when dc2 arrives....

I think this pregnancy is going to be easier as I'm not going to be spending the time wondering what I've let myself in for....

misshairspray - you only have to look at how many of us are doing it a 2nd/3rd/7th time ... we must be mad!

tinkhasabunintheoven · 29/05/2008 08:43

hi all

thanks for reasurrance about test ladies realised i was being silly
happy lovely website i have a look i am 6wks.5 days nearly 7 pictures are lovely
my dd1 will be one and a half months off of 3 and a half when i have baby. she stats nursery beginning of sept.

tobemory · 29/05/2008 08:59

My little one will be 22 months when next arrives. I was coming up for 38 when I had first and will be coming up to the dreaded 40 for this one! I would really have liked a bigger age gap but thought better get on with it as always wanted two. We moved out of London back to near my folks when first was 3 months. It was hard work moving at the time but has been worth it for the support and babysitting and will need it even more now! No idea how will cope with two little ones - just blunder my way through as usual!

largeginandtonic · 29/05/2008 09:28

So sorry notyetblooming, will you ask for a scan? Better to be checked out.

Mel i love the chickens, we have 2 cream legbars, 2 cuckoo marans and a rhode island cross. We did have a lovely Bluebird but the fox got her I do drive a huge car, a Toyota Previa, 8 seats. I am going to need a bigger one though... a mini bus i fear.

Fym i am perfectly sane i'll have you know

A baby will always fit right in, as soon as they come out you really wont be able to imagine your life any other way

This baby is not well timed, my dh is off to sea in January for 9 months. I am hoping they let him stay to see the baby born and have a couple of weeks at home with us but then he will be gone By the time he comes back the baby will be crawling round and in to everything.

Positive thinking and all that jazz, all will be well.

I am still sick and by 3 in the afternoon seem to have lost all patience and reasonable thought. Roll on 12 weeks.

scared1976 · 29/05/2008 09:53

morning everyone, we are really chugging along arent we!

feel like utter cr*p today. was so pleased with self as had got to 7.4 without vomming and now 2 days in a row. to make matters worse am in holland with loads of work meetings and i just feel AWFUL.

On top of which Im fretting massively. My midwife told me flying is not recommended in first trimester, but Im meant to be going to NY next week for work, and LA in two weeks for holiday. I dont want to tell anyone in the office so I really dont know what to do. DH is putting a lot of pressure on me to cancel the work trip, and Id just feel so terrible if I did something bad to the baby.

Not moaning really tho! After trying for 18 months I want this baby so badly Im even happy when Im hurling

fymandbean · 29/05/2008 10:10

well I'm 5+1 ....

largeginandtonic · 29/05/2008 10:12

I am sure it is ok to fly in the first trimester, just keep yourself well hydrated and move around lots

I have no idea how you work while feeling so dreadful, i hate leaving the hose at the moment as i feel\look so terrible.

largeginandtonic · 29/05/2008 10:13

Fym how do you know? I think i just worked out my dates, i am pretty sure of when i conceieved, well sort of. I make myself 5+5 today.

scared1976 · 29/05/2008 10:13

thanks g+t. i do look like utter crud and none of my nice work clothes fit on top of that!

fymandbean · 29/05/2008 10:46

Hiya LG&t - I just worked it from 1st day of last period (23rd April). My cycles are pretty regular so am sure I ov around CD13/14. So am currently (counts on fingers) CD ermmm... 37 which is actually 5+2!

MsSparkle · 29/05/2008 10:49

MissHairspray once the baby comes your life will adapt and change but in a good way. I'll admit it won't be easy but once you get there you can't imagine your life without your baby in it You will be fine.

I am so tired today, was up until midnight last night because i went to the cinema to watch the sex and the city movie, it was great! Suffering for it this morning though

nooschmoo · 29/05/2008 10:51

misshairspray don't think this will help much, but me & DH were on the verge of moving out of london back up north nearer family but decided because of the credit crunch etc it'd be too difficult to sell our flat & work out too expensive at the moment, so DH turned down a job - 2 days later i found out I was expecting....we kind of had to take a few (very) deep breaths and keep saying 'this means there's something better on the horizon...' but like you, will be stuck in a small 2 bed flat with 2 children....not ideal, but I guess that's the way it has to be at the moment. I think if you keep focussing on what could've been, you could go slightly mad, hey?

Hope all you other ladies are feeling as well as you can today - I'm telling work this afternoon, not looking forward to it...

MsSparkle · 29/05/2008 11:56

I have a question; I have the dentist this afternoon, i sent the form off 2 weeks ago for my exemption card and it isn't here yet. Is there anyway i can claim my money back? It's just a regular check up so about £20.

witchandchips · 29/05/2008 14:11

Is anybody else absolutely shattered? I stayed at home today to mark exam scripts and have not managed to do anything else but sleep or read a novel

MissHairspray · 29/05/2008 14:28

Hi there, thanks for your +ve comments and commonon sense We live in docklands which is great for communiting but not much else, and all of our close family and friends are in Newcastle so thats where we want to be. I know though that if everything goes OK I will have the little family i've always wanted and that's what really matters, especially when I read about all of the real, more serious problems people have on mn which really puts this stuff in to perspective.

Sorry you're feeling so poorly scared when not at home - I find it bad enough travelling around England with work so god knows what it is like going abroad

mel2005 · 29/05/2008 14:47

lg&t, i have two cream legbars and two marans as well!!! i also have norfolk greys, welsummers and am waiting for some new silkies (as my last three turned out to be all cockerels ) my little boy loves the blue eggs, i like the HUGE chocolate ones the marans lay

largeginandtonic · 29/05/2008 14:54

I have a 3 year old that refuses to eat any egg other than 'Maggie's' she is the rhode island cross and lays 2 a day! Good girl she is to

No cockrels here, the neighbours would go barmy. We have a tiny garden!

I just went out to collect the eggs and had to hold my nose, the slightest whiff of them makes me heave! DH is away soon and i will have to resume chicken duties, am dreading it!

stripeywoollenhat · 29/05/2008 15:04

hi there - can i join, please? i've been lurking but was waiting for scan to confirm - just had viability scan at 7.2 weeks and have lo with heartbeat. really happy and relieved. i am due on 13 jan 09.

elkiedee · 29/05/2008 16:00

Welcome stripey, am quite jealous of your viability scan.

elkiedee · 29/05/2008 16:03

Sorry stripey! have just looked at your other posts and realised why you got the early scan.
