IlanaK am sorry to hear you're feeling down, do you want VGs telephone number and she can cheer you up professionally??!!

Hazie I think Gabriella is lovely too, am not sure about Cole though - but I can't think why. there is NOTHING about the name that offends me and it is short and masculine so fits my normal 'like' criteria, I just don't know!!

for dd1 if she had been a boy she could have been either Caleb or Corin, both of which I still like

what about Keir or Kerr?

miniest dixie down south too but then with my lardy belly its sometimes hard to tell

the 6 months sounds great but as I'll have about 4/5 stone to lose I doubt I'd achieve it - bf did nothing but give me massive puppydog ear norks and made me ravenous, I was faint if I didn't eat - dd1 was a hungry hungry baby, apparently a well developed suck and jaw when they come out the size of a 6month old

work was soooooooooooooooooo busy today and then had a friend round with her girls when I had finished. am tire, am in jammies and ready for bed as soon as dd2 stops beating the cot bars with the baby doll head I'm off to bed too. had a terrible night sleep last night with her coughing and up all night so am delighted not on early shift anymore - dh's turn for that joy tomorrow

ah shite, just remembered have dentist in the morning and its a scale and polish which will hurt as my gums are a tad sensitive - sod (sorry for swearing but HATE the sodding dentist)

CaptainCaveman · 16/04/2008 21:00

Pleased to report am getting plenty of kicks in the nethers too. Ds was breech from at least 27 weeks so I remember those kind of movements well - they are definately good kicking movements . Tend to get less jerky, smoother type movements higher up my abdomen, kind of where ds2's hands are.

gotta fly - apprentice just starting!!

TwilightSurfer · 16/04/2008 21:17

Well ladies no sunbathing for me today. Got caught up in cleaning and couldn't stop. Even ran out to get a new mophead & bucket. I do believe nesting has OFFICIALLY set in.

Glad everyone else's LOs are playing handball down low. I really was beginning to wonder if something was very wrong with me. Petitfilou you made me go to the dictionary...I'd never heard the term cephalic before. Now I've officially "learned" something today too.

I will admit I've been down in the dumps for a few days myself. This pregnancy just isn't anything like DDs. I laughed all the time with her....or at least I think I did. I was also working 60 hour weeks, up to my ears in computer crap and programmers, so I might have just forgotten my down moments. Maybe now I just have more time to notice my ups and downs. Who knows but sympathize with everyone who feels low at the moment.

Morning all, weather is going to be crap tomorrow so let's all try and get out in the sunshine today (and put the washing/guinea pigs/rabbits/compost out.)

I've not had fanjo kicks but quite a few painful braxton hicks, maybe caused by baby rolling over or maybe I can just feel the baby more when it's being squished so much. Have to stop what I'm doing and do a kind of 'ssssshhhhhh' breathing to get through them.

Had lovely romantic sci-fi dream with BillyJoe Armstrong from Greenday, am reluctant to lose the memory so kids have not had my full attention yet this morning! (What's new?)

I like Cole (esp Cole Porter) but DH can't get past Cole Deschanel from Sunset Beach (hilarious 90s US soap that got more and more surreal towards the end, we were both hooked when we first met .)

"can someone please explain??"
Um, pants too tight? I need to invest in some cheapie bigger ones myself, esp as my maternity trousers are still hanging about my hips and revealing my bump a bit too much.

cyteen · 17/04/2008 09:32

Awww, (((SazzlesA))). That's not what you need is it? I hope he makes it up to you tonight with mucho pampering.

My DP is pretty irritable at the moment as he's off the fags again - everything is annoying him, particularly the fact that our entire lives are covered in cat hair. Honestly, I don't think two such hairy cats have ever existed in this world - the air is literally full of drifting fur that clings to everything and gets everywhere, it is very annoying. I love them but they drive me mad sometimes. Boycat woke me up at 4.15am banging against the downstairs door demanding food, cheeky bugger.

So I guess I'll be getting the vacuum out tonight, try and limit the damage. I do feel for him, it's obviously not nice trying to give up smoking so I want to try and smooth things over a bit and make life a bit easier. Our house doesn't really help matters, it's so dust-ridden and a total hair trap. Can't wait to move to be honest, it will be so nice to be able to make a home instead of just existing in rented accommodation.

Got a friend from uni coming over for tea tonight which will be nice. I was feeling a bit freaked out by this Pepys essay I've got to do, but realised that I've got a few more days than I thought so feel a little bit better about it.

Is anyone else having real trouble getting going in the morning? I'm fine(ish) once I've got up, but no matter how much sleep I've had, dragging myself out of bed is a real struggle. Even the squid seems more tired, he/she seems to spend most of the day asleep!

Sorry to hear about the down in the dumps-ness. I've had some of that too, but it seems to be coming in peaks and troughs, which for me is good, as it's when it settles that I need to worry.

Have spent the first part of the morning cleaning the bathrooms. One of them (a shower room that dh and the lodgers use - lol I like that the main bathroom is mine and dd's domain.... just worked out that way) was really minging. Noone else seems to notice any dirt. I only did minimum stuff over the hols, and that did not include doing much more than swishing round the loo and basin in that one. Grr grr grr. Need to mop the floors up there now, but having a break!!!

I've bene experimenting with whether I can see my toes. I'm not acually sure. In some positions I can, but maybe i'm pushing my hips back more than is natural . The fun I have in the shower in the mornings - peering (short sightedly without glasses) down to see if my toes are there or not .

Meant to say that I love Ts's lovely organised list!!!! It's so pretty

Last night dh went out with an old school friend so I recorded The Apprentice (on our new Sky plus - woo hoo). Then on the way back from dropping dd at school I had the radio on (Heart fm if anyone's interested lol) and heard an interview come on with the guy who got kicked off last night. Grr grr grr. Switched over so I didn't hear anymore, bu fgs now i know who goes tonight. lol. This happened in the last series too when I heard something crucial about the penultimate episode before i saw it. DH is very smug that you never get that kind of leak on Radio 4. rofl!

CaptainCaveman · 17/04/2008 12:23

Good afternoon, am whizzing by on my way to a meeting and I still need to pick up some lunch.

Ditto tiredness - I seem worse in the afternoon but then I think I always do, pg or not!

Thankfully body morphing has stopped now that I've morphed into one round stomach. You can no longer distinguish between the rib/abdomen bulge and the waist bulge - unless its first thing in the morning and I've just got out of bed!!

A beautiful day here, sunny and glorious. And I'm off to spend the afternoon locked in a boardroom talking about partnerships..................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

cheerfulvicky · 17/04/2008 12:56

Hmmm... and I thought it was just me that was cleaning madly. Surely we can't all be nesting yet??!

TS, thanks for what you said about bodies after birth. I don't mind if it's a little different but I guess I'm just not very good at watching it morph so rapidly - it's a little scary!
Those of you that already have kids, have you noticed what happened to your boobs after birth? I've gone up two cup sizes, which is quite fun as they weren't that big to start with, and now they're nice and curvy and feminine. However I've been told they may be even smaller than in the beginning after the whole thing. I can't afford to lose much if you know what I mean, hehe...

I've also been having kicks in the nether regions, don't worry you're not alone. Sometimes simultaneously down there and up a bit above the belly button, which is interesting. I still can't tell what's what or which way round he is though!

cyteen · 17/04/2008 13:06

lol Saz - DP is always trying to get me to hoover them, he'd probably fetch me the moon if I shaved them both

libbyssister · 17/04/2008 13:08

Hi everyone

Cheerfulvicky - I have just checked out your profile and you and your bump look bloody gorgeous! As for boobs, I think they were pretty much as they always were. Maybe a bit less volume, but not much. Although I have forever lost my boy nips I think I'll always have ones that look like I'm forever nude in the arctic...

I don't think I'm nesting. I am a house slut with dirt and dust and SO much needs just putting away. But, the weekend's coming...and still nothing will get done!!

TwilightSurfer · 17/04/2008 13:09

DH pissed me off last night as well Sazzles. I wish it were as simple as Cyteen's DP fag issues. I just can't understand why, after 4 YEARS, he hasn't clued into the fact that I want HIM to do brushteeth, book, & bed for DD....all by 8:30PM. If I don't remind him, he doesn't do it. If I do remind him, he says in a minute. One minute turns into an hour and the next thing you know either it's 10PM or I'm putting DD to bed myself. Even after I explained things, yet again, after dinner, he still did not get up from his computer game to do anything. I ended up doing it all and unfortunately reading DD's book with tears rolling down my face. Oops...my point....I sympathize with you and completely understand your frustration with DH.

of Buckets dreams. Can't say I can remember much about my dreams lately....maybe I'm not sleeping.

I can still see my toes. I'm round but not way out there YET. My time is coming.

TwilightSurfer · 17/04/2008 13:15

Cheerfulvicky...boobs are a strange thing. After giving birth mine were very in tune with my cycle as far as size go. So they were full or wimpy depending on the time of the month. I don't know if anyone else has had that experience.

OP posts:
PetitFilou1 · 17/04/2008 13:31

Aaaagh dc's driving me INSANE this morning. And it is bitterly cold outside so went to the park and dd just said 'I want to go hoooooome' the whole time. And dh not back until Saturday....

Cheerful Vicky Boobs went more or less back to normal after ds but after dd I have definitely lost some breast tissue so less volume there - it isn't the size so much but the shape of them that changes. And I think I will have sticky out nips forever now! My stomach is the main problem. After I had ds it went back to normal but after dd it just never did - when I lay on my side it still felt like my stomach was laying there next to me! You get used to it - all part of the battle scars - and unless you have a dp/dh who maintains the body of Adonis then they can't really moan as they tend to get a bit rounder round the middle too!

TS In my experience dh's don't respond to clueing into things. You have to say 'I would like you to bath dd every day as I do x x and y all day and by the end of the day I've had enough. You don't see her all day and bathtime is a time when the two of you can have some one to one time together. Do you think that is reasonable as if not we need to talk about it - especially as I will have my hands full after dd2 is born and will really need your help' or something!

TwilightSurfer · 17/04/2008 14:00

Oh Petitfilou if I only had a dollar for everytime I gave that EXACT speech. I would really be a RICH woman!! We just have good days and bad days. That's the downfall of an extravert and an intravert union, I believe. Next week things will probably be completely different.

TwilightSurfer · 17/04/2008 14:03

I AM Cleaning Again!! Oh Dear!!! Do you think there's any chance my house might stay clean until DD2 is born. Wouldn't that be incredible.

I love my post-kids boobs! Before they were kind of pneumatic (as they are now when I'm pg) and afterwards they were the same size but kind of skinnier iyswim. Men look in my eyes when they talk to me, not down my cleavage - it's actually quite intimidating having men stare at your boobs all the time (when you don't want them to anyway).
I've lost my tummy very quickly both times, I remember being in quite fitted jeans and top at nephew's party 3 wks after DS was born. Tummy was still a bit soft but I'd had a CSection so wasn't using my abs much in day-to-day life yet (NB I don't DO exercise).

TwilightSurfer · 17/04/2008 15:43

Soft...yes, I remember now. My tummy felt really soft for a while. Like I had some sort of pillow under the skin. It shrank quickly but stayed pillowy feeling for about six months. Actually I remember noticing sort of a saggy skin look to my face too. Only briefly as my body "pulled" itself back together. Found exfoliation a big help in whipping the skin back into a healthy state.

Sazzles my DH goes through garbage day forgetful moments too. Can't figure out WHY...six years, same day....

Oh, I'm mentally wincing and laughing at peoples descriptions of their husbands/partners. I thought it was just mine! To be fair, he always remembers to take the bins out. But in general, expecting him to notice when something needs doing... HAHAHAHA, I don't think so. I'm resigned to the fact that with most men, you just have to tell them. They do not see the things that obviously need doing in the way we do. different brains I suppose.

Just realized - I'm carrying a future man! Scary

TwilightSurfer · 17/04/2008 17:30

All this talk about MEN's Strengths....doesn't it make you wonder how they got to be Presidents, World Leaders, Corporate Big Wigs????? Just a little something that I ponder from time to time.
