Ooh crumbs.

There's no way I track it in such a detailed way.

dizzydixies · 29/04/2008 15:01

I think as long as you're aware you're having some movement throughout the day you're fine

if not there are things you can do to wake up baby and make sure there is movement

drink glass of ice cold water
drink glass of sugary/caffine drink e.g. coke
lie on left side

sit with feet up for a while and relax

bath - baies like to feel floaty lol

shove it about a bit

VintageGardenia · 29/04/2008 15:03

It's exciting how close we're getting, isn't it?

dizzydixies · 29/04/2008 15:06

la la la la la la la

have too much to do in may and june to consider this baby actually arriving at some point lol

cyteen · 29/04/2008 15:08

I think Squidboy might have turned round so he's facing my back - the last couple of days, his movements have felt much more muted, whereas before they were poking out all over my stomach. And, not to put too fine a point on it, several times last night I felt like I was being kicked in the back passage .

Obviously being a worrisome first timer I've been having a bit of a 'what if there's something wrong' day today and trying to elicit more movement...been prodding the little bugger but haven't had much in return. I have felt some movement, just not the mad squirmy punchy kind.

Still, I've just had tea and a Caramel, maybe now's the time to lie on my left side!

dizzydixies · 29/04/2008 15:10

be cyteen careful - left side can help pass wind too lol

what about cole Gabriel?

am a bit tired today hence the lack of suggestions but I've not forgotten about you I promise

libbyssister · 29/04/2008 15:15

Hi Petitfilou! Glad to here you're in the house ok, even though there's tons to do!

Can't remember how old your DCs are but you can go to:
Snakes and Ladders in Abingdon which is one of those indoor soft play places (with an more dangerous bit for over 3s)
Abingdon Leisure Centre has a good children's pool.
The main park in Abingdon by the river has a good play area and in the summer there's a water thing that kids stamp on and fountains spray up in the air...
Millets gets better as the strawberry picking season starts... and they have a big maize maze in the summer.

Errr can't think of much else at the moment. You're asking someone whose DS thinks a trip to the tip is exciting

cyteen · 29/04/2008 15:18

What are you talking about libbyssister - a trip to the tip is exciting! Last time we were there, we saw a massive top of the range plasma screen telly with a single, damning crack in the bottom corner It was just after Christmas as well. Someone must have caught hell for that.

libbyssister · 29/04/2008 15:26

Last time we went to the tip we happened to park next to Rory Bremner and watched him unload all his crap out of his blacked out 4x4 Hugely exciting

libbyssister · 29/04/2008 15:28

Hey VG. I bought maternity PJs last time around. I like to wear something whatever the time of year and found I out-grew everything else. Mind you DS was born early May so maybe this time around I'll be too hot for PJs. Haven't worn them yet as they are HUGE.

TwilightSurfer · 29/04/2008 15:45

Was going to catch up last night but we had a power cut from 9pm to 10.30pm. Ho hum.

Dead cat still in out house.....

Only 10 days til we go to Florida!!

Was just reading all the posts re movements and kicks, and thinking ds2 is quiet today, then BANG, BUMP, OOF and the eel is awake!!

TwilightSurfer · 29/04/2008 16:28

So I'm guessing Captain's Out House has a slight ODOR by now...... But glad you could pop in for a bit.

Trying to decide what to do for lunch. Where is my personal chef when I need him????

Sazzles, do the boobs come with the bras?? Even with my newly enhanced pregnancy versions they are no were near as full as these pics.

alittlebitshy · 29/04/2008 16:47

Loving the name of that site - hot milk, how cool is that considering the leakage some of us are getting already??

I'm not convinced that this baby sleeps for more than 20 mins at a time - though maybe it is sleeping through the night in there ........

What are you going to do with the dead cat Captain??

la la la can't think what else to say for now......

poppysocks · 29/04/2008 17:20

Lots of chat on here today while I was actually doing some work... Have had to give up now on account of a large number of bagpipes being blown by men in large fluffy hats and shoes and kilts. No idea why.... They do look hot out there though. Summer has arrived!

Anyone else finding that now the weather's occasionally behaving itself that the whole having a summer baby thing is feeling rather closer? I seem to have flipped in the last week from having a baby seeming ages away to really rather close. Eek!

BTW, meant to say yesterday that Hazie, I think Gabriella Ruby sounds lovely and would go really well with your surname. Contrasting rhythmns of the names etc

Buckets · 29/04/2008 17:29

Cavy, do clean up the dead cat before you get people viewing your house.

Not doing that kick counting thing, seems awfully pessimistic somehow - but not sure what my logic is there. Like buses, you could wait for ages, worrying yourself silly, and then 3 come along at once.
Don't see how sleeping patterns pre- and post- birth can correspond either - surely a continuous drip from the placenta isn't going to knock you out like a tummy full of milk and a good old burp? Added to that the different levels of energy required for inflating/deflating lungs, temperature regulation, learning to manage the sudden sensory overload, regular peristalsis and bowel movement? No wonder they look so cross with all that to do.

longwayfromhome · 29/04/2008 19:36

Hello all, thanks for the messages, and vest advice. Yes, my mum will come and stay for a couple of weeks after the baby is born, which is great, and we have a long trip to the UK planned for December/January, which is fab. I'm here in Argentina because DH is Argentinean, and his work is here/it would be difficult for him to find a similar job in the UK - his family are all close by as well, which is fab, so there is lots of support here.

Buckets, you have mentioned a few times about your DS's autism assessment, it sounds like it is quite a long process? I hope that it is going okay.

And on the shopping theme my swimming costume still fits me, although not much else does now, which I find quite interesting.

On with the day ...

VintageGardenia · 29/04/2008 19:49

Corblimey am loving the hotmilk!

dizzydixies · 29/04/2008 19:52

pmsl VG you want me to comment on how am not surprised by your last post - saucy minx you!

VintageGardenia · 29/04/2008 19:54

It's a purely professional interesting, my dizzy dear.
