Hi All, back again...

Jenwa: hang int here.. almost there.

i like all the names I've seen :-) I haven't even started thinking about names yet.

DH and I went to John Lewis yesterday and got thoroughly confused about what pram/car seat system thing we should get.... think we need a degree in these things!! thinking of the 3d silver cross system, anyone got any experience?

Also just soemthing a little personal I need to share with you girls... recently I've noticed that my belly has been getting really hairy.. it never used to be, and all of a sudden there's been this spurt. DH just laughs. Can anyone sympathise with me?

Also thinking of going antenatal aerobics classes, does anyone do these and also anyone got any ideas as to where I can get a nice tankini?

sparklesandnowinefor5months · 27/05/2008 14:43

Hi all

I've finally managed to get hold of someone at the antinatal clinic to give me a date for my scan - its at 9am on friday 13th

Jenwa - i hope you get your results soon x

hansnava · 27/05/2008 15:02

hi all

1sttimer80 i know exactly what u mean about hairy belly mines aboves my belly button, i got a little with dd but with this pg i look like im turning into a ape. maybe its a boy and its male hormones thats what my dp likes to think.

pepperrabbit · 27/05/2008 15:10

Be grateful - I have a black hair growing on my CHIN
It grows silently overnight and then bam, I notice in the middle of a meeting one day and then can't speak cos I have to cover my whole face till I can get to the ladies.
I suppose I could distract them by lifting my top and shouting - see, my tummy's not hairy!
they'd never spot my hairy chin then.

pepperrabbit · 27/05/2008 15:10

sorry, I've not had much sleep!
Hope you find out today Jenwa, we're thinking of you.

1sttimer80 · 27/05/2008 15:14

hee hee hee... glad I'm not alone! i think I;m going to go to the ladies now and check to see if I have any on my chin!

sambrads · 27/05/2008 15:21

were is everyone with there results????

think the baby might be lying low and i will definately try eating a mars bar tomorrow

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/05/2008 16:18

1sttimer - do you keep switching between 08 and 80 at the end of your name, or am I going mad?!

Don't think a mars bar would have been a good idea for me, but thankfully the sonographer said that HE was a very co-operative baby. Yup, I'm having a boy. OMG. Wtf do you do with a boy?!

sambrads · 27/05/2008 16:32

thats fantastic news csws!!!

boys are so lovely my wee man is so affectionate and i would not chnge him for the world

pepperrabbit · 27/05/2008 16:36

excellent news CSWS - I have 2 and they're fantastic! Now girls on the other hand.... I wouldn't have a clue - but I'm not going to find out till Oct. Honest.
Scan not till 6th June (@22 wks)

KSal · 27/05/2008 16:59

just back from the scan and everything fine. it had its legs tucked up underneath for most of the time and it was looking like i would have to make a return visit to check the feet when it flipped onto its head at the last minute. I wasn't asked if i wanted to know the sex, which is fine because we have decided to wait!

great news CSWS... one of each is fab!

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/05/2008 17:30

Oh, forgot to say that although not blocking the birth canal, the placenta is low, so need to have that checked at my 36 week scan to check that it has risen.

sparklesandnowinefor5months · 27/05/2008 17:48

CSWS - thats fab!! i have 3 boys and they really are quite easy compared to girls, i have 1 girl so far and she's more trouble than the boys put together!

We've decided not to find out at the scan

4andnotout · 27/05/2008 17:54

Hi everyone, congratulations cws I have 3dd's so if they tell me it's a boy this time i shall be i have no idea of boys! I have 1 brother but he is gay and v.camp so has never been really boyish iykwim! Have got loads of boys names though and not many for girls!

twinklytoes · 27/05/2008 17:55

I'm back too. It's a boy too!

never had such a thorough scan and really enjoyed it. DD1 shed a tear over her disappointment and I shed a tear with excitement

though now doing the same as CSWS - what do I do with a boy.......

sparklesandnowinefor5months · 27/05/2008 18:00

Congrats twinklytoes

OEM are you going to find out then? i think i may have asked this before forgive me but my memory is s**t at the moment

We still can't think of many names but i'm sure we'll come up with something, DS1 and DD suggested Troy or Gabriella - lol - they've been watching HSM too much

4andnotout · 27/05/2008 18:05

At the mo. im loving
Nathaniel
Solomon
Xander
Finley
Tristan
And for a girl
Yvaine
Darcy-Leigh
Gabrielle
But the others have hyphenated names so if its a girl it will have to have the same. I cant wait to find out!

annwoo · 27/05/2008 19:33

No time to post at mo. These 5am starts are killing me. Congrats to twinkleytoes and csws on your news (find my ds hard work but also lots of fun)

Scan went well -just nice to see the bambino kicking around.
Waiting till Oct to find out sex.

Hope everyone is feeling ok.

Lozza70 · 27/05/2008 20:12

Congrats on the scans today, lots of boys! My scan went well but baby was breech and facing me so lots of time was spent trying to see the heart and face but when they did get the face the wee mite had it's hand on one cheek. After a bit of jigging around we finally got to see the face. It's just been a lovely day . Unfortunately because of the baby's position we didn't get a great picture, lots of spine, DH now thinks we are having a half eaten mackerel

Baby's feet are resting on my bladder which explained the dashing to the loo frequently. Plus it's a large baby at the moment, top end of normal scale, probably due to my love of mint choc Feast's!

accessorizequeen · 27/05/2008 20:16

Congrats to all on healthy little lo's - must have been lovely And boys are great, my two are v.sweet & cuddly. Only difference as babies is their willies keep shooting wee at you! Although of course I haven't had a girl (yet)

anyone heard from jenwa??

tedmundo · 27/05/2008 20:38

Oh it is so wonderful to hear about the happy scans.

Boys are amazing! Mine is the most loving, soppy thing you could ever wish for. Likes giving his willy a tug a bit too often for my liking but I gather this is quite typical. (He just pulls it SO HARD it makes me wince.)

Question for you all ... if I have a girl I am a no nonsense type of person and want to explain to DS about her bits and his bits. We call his "willy" and he knows this word and I think it is a good word to use. But what do you use for a girl's bits?? Please don't suggest fifi, twinkle, foofoo etc as it is just not who I am! A good, solid word would be VERY useful to me. Over to you....

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/05/2008 20:40

Pleased to hear that all the other scans went well too. You having a surprise re sex Lozza?

Good luck for yours tomorrow Sambrads and mum2jakeyroo.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/05/2008 20:41

Oh tedmundo - there have been soooooo many threads on that very subject. We just refer to dd's as 'girly bits', as nothing else ever seems quite right.

OP posts:
tedmundo · 27/05/2008 20:43

Thanks CSWS - will go and have a trawl to see what I can find!

accessorizequeen · 27/05/2008 20:46

I'm tittering over here at good solid word for girl's bits Sorry, tedmundo! I must pay attention so I can explain to ds1.
