Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
4andnotout · 22/05/2008 21:02

Hi everyone
Had my triple test back today and it was all ok, dd2 has recovered from chicken pox and im starting to get optimistic about our holiday next week
Still wearing my normal clothes and havent put on a lb yet so people keep asking me if im alright and quietly asking about the baby, i have to keep telling them that it's hiding in there somewhere!

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/05/2008 21:10

Please don't do name changes and not remind us who you were before - there are too many people to remember it all! sparkles?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 22/05/2008 21:11

No, not sparkles, she doesn't have a dd2. Hmmmmm...

4andnotout · 22/05/2008 21:16

Opps sorry i forgot about the name change I was oliviaelanasmum but as it missed off dd3 and would be a complete mouthfull i changed it!

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/05/2008 21:17

Ok cool!

Hello ladies!

Big thanks to cantsleep for reminding me I joined the Oct board and to give me the kick up the bottom I needed lol!

Excuse me if I don't post anything relevent to anyone here but I will have a read through and catch up when I've posted.

I'll just jump in with all my news.

Well I couldn't wait to find out what we are having this time so I paid for a private scan and we are having another boy lol!

I was totally convinced it was anyway but to be completely honest I was hoping I was wrong as I desperatly wanted dd to have a sister. Oh well she now has 3 brothers to look out for her Poor love will never be allowed a boyfriend!

Had my 20wk scan on tuesday and they confirmed everything looks perfect and most def a boy, he isn't shy

Mw has said I'm measuring big already so I'm getting worried that he might be bigger than dd was (9lb 4oz) I really hope not but I've asked her to refer me for a growth scan later on if he's still growing so fast.

Dd (10m) has just learnt to crawl, my life is no longer easy and I'm wondering why we decided to have them so close Dvd's and the laptop charger are the current favourite toys! I can't believe how fast the last 10months have flown by and I'd say to all you mummies, just enjoy those first few months as you never get them back

Lordy I'm just rambling now, that's what happens when dd decides 6am is the new wake up time, so I shall go now. Will not leave it so long this time

Night ladies & bumps, hope you're all well, Gem xx

tedmundo · 22/05/2008 21:31

Gosh - I am amazed some of you are lighter than before the pregnancy! I have a rather neat bump now and there really is no missing the fact I am "with child"

I truly hope tomorrow brings you happy news jenwa.

I am feeling sick again tonight so off to bed to sleep it off. My darling, dearest DH has treated us to one of those memory foam mattresses and pillows so I am going to bed earlier and earlier these days as I love my new bed!

Scan is next Thursday which we are looking forward to. I am under the consultant this time due to pre eclampsia last time. I have got some acupuncture booked for Saturday too as I have terrible hip pain at the moment. Anyone else suffering with their ligaments??

annwoo · 22/05/2008 21:37

Like the new name 4andnotout. Didn't I get some clothes from you ages ago? Thank you
I admire you for going on your hols with 3 little ones not longhaul I hope (for your sanity)

4andnotout · 22/05/2008 21:39

Wombfor1more My dd3 is 8 months and is now starting to rock back and forth as if she is getting ready to start crawling so i think my days of peace and relative safety are numbered.

4andnotout · 22/05/2008 21:42

Hi annwoo, yes i think you did buy some clothes from me
We are only going to Spain so not too far really, dd1(6) and dd2(3) are very excited and dd3 will just love being able to play in the sand, she really enjoys trying to stuff as much in her mouth as possible

annwoo · 22/05/2008 21:46

Hmmm - sand crunchy my 11 month old is the same.
Have fun am envious!

4andnotout · 22/05/2008 21:49

DD2 got chicken pox last weekend so i thought we wouldn't be going but she is much better now, all scabbed up and the others havent shown any signs yet(touch wood). Been bit of a rubbish week really as im a bit as i had sold my bugaboo on ebay but the buyer hasn't paid or contacted again to arrange collection so that was a fair portion of my holiday money

annwoo · 22/05/2008 21:57

Glad she is over chickenpox, am also wanting to sell my bugaboo and p & t soon but am an ebay virgin and not looking forward to dealing with them. Hope buyer pays up soon.

4andnotout · 22/05/2008 21:59

I was considering a p&t as there will only be 13 months between dd3 and this one but i got an immacculate kingswood double jogger off freecycle yesterday!

annwoo · 22/05/2008 22:11

Result!

Aubergenie · 23/05/2008 07:41

Jenwa, Good luck today. I hope you get the news you want.

I had my 20 week scan (at 21 weeks) yesterday. it was so lovely being able to see the baby again.I couldn't believe how much we could see - it was crossing and uncrossing its legs and opening its mouth. Brilliant! I could have lay there all afternoon.

The staff were lovely but being in the hospital really makes me want to push for a home birth. A parent at my school told me yesterday that he sister had to give birth on the general ward (with visitors coming in and out to see other patients) because they didn't have enough room on the labour ward.

4and notout - that was a great result! I'm thinking of asking for some stuff on Freecycle, but I'm worried about accumulating too much stuff too early as we only have a 1 bedroom flat and the main objective at the moment is to get rid of stuff.

I hope everyone's OK. Enjoy your Friday!

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/05/2008 08:20

WF1M - you'll just have to have another to try for a second girl then .

Aubergenie - I take it if it was opening and closing its legs then you found out the sex?

rosebury · 23/05/2008 08:51

Morning ladies good news on scans and lots of chat going on.

I went down with a tummy bug yesterday feeling very sick and washed out I spent the day in bed unable to move felt vry sorry for mysel. I have to take it easy this morning and try to eat something as I have to go shopping this afternoon for the final bits for ds 5th birthday party tomorrow 20 children on a steam train.

Have a good weekend everyone.

bethoo · 23/05/2008 09:20

wow so much to catch up on.
Ekka thanks for the advice ref baby girl clothes, should be a safety warning on them.i usually keep babies in babygros until they are about 3 months anyway as too lazy to deal with buckles, buttons, zips and putting thinks over the head!

Hansnava i am almost 20 weeks and still feel buggar all movements! even at the 20 week scan she did not move even after eating a choccy bar before going in. the sonographer had to try and move her by pushing the device thing against my tummy. so obviously quite a chilled little lady! surprising considering the amount of coke i drink though i may bring it up to the mw on next appointment. thank goodness for my doppler!

someone mentioned a rash earlier, well i have a rash like small red dots like a heat rash all over my tummy which is really itchy, i think my friend had great satisfaction in telling me that it was a sign that i was getting stretchmarks as she still never got over the fact i escaped them last time! also my legs itch but may be due to dry skin though it is almost pleasurable giving them a good scratch even though it causes them to bleed. i certainly sound attractive now!!

sambrads · 23/05/2008 10:10

4andnotout can you tell me what freecycle is???

i also i am over a stone lighter than i was before i got pregnant and i will be 22 weeks but the mw are not concerned as i was so sick

as for a birth plan i done one out for my ds and it didnt really happen .

i asked for an epidural to lie in the bed til im ready to push and if they could help it not cut me cause i did not want stitches.

i ended up in a midwifery led unit was standing or in the bath for most of my labour then gave birth on my hands and knees.

to be honest i just wanted to die the pain was that bad but when ds came out i felt nothing it was great there is pain relief there so just take it and listen to your body as it will tell you wht to do

i do think it is a good idea to write down things you do and dont want so your other half can give to the midwife so she knows as you will be in no state to tell her yourself.

the mw seen i did not wat stitches and she left me to stretch so i did not need stitches and my ds was 8 pound 4 so a big boy ! i also said i wated the injection the help bring on the placenta so when i had ds she had already give me the injection about 15 mins before and the placenta came out 2 mins after ds so i could lie in the bath

bethoo · 23/05/2008 10:32

no one even looked at my birth plan. because i had gd they ruled out the water birth i wanted as have to be monitored throughout. they stuck a tens machine on my back that just irritated me so that came off then i was given paracetamol!

4andnotout · 23/05/2008 12:14

sambrands freecycle is a yahoo group where people offer things they dont need for free. If you google it you should be able to see if there is one in your area. I get rid of lots of kids clothes and toys on mine as well as household things i no longer use and i have recieved prams, baby clothes, books, garden toys etc. Its really good!
