CSWS will you have to take insulin or should it be manageable by diet?

Answer is in my first post on this thread hedgepig, but in short, I don't know yet!

Hi hansnava. Movements can be very occasional for quite a while initially (I felt somersaults at 16 weeks, then nothing for 3 weeks after that!), but once they are established and regular you should be looking for 10 (or more) movements a day.

I booked my 20 week scan straight after having my 12 week one.

chilledbunny hi i am 16 weeks and 3 days so we are the same stage!!!

I had my 12 week scan today (a bit late ) and everything is fine.

Also v. exvited because my load of maternity wear arrived from Next today. I have quite a large bump already (2nd baby)so I am vvvvv excited to have some nice new clothes my old maternity clothes were getting quite thread bare from last time!!!

Hope all are well!

gem1981 · 12/05/2008 16:35

ooh forgot to say I saw a lady in the hospital car park today in labour and it completely made everything suddenly seem v real - i just sat in my car watching her husband flap around trying to get a ticket - she was just stood there deep breathing!!!

eek!!!!

sparklesandnowinefor5months · 12/05/2008 16:38

Hi all

hope you are all growing bumps nicely and enjoying the lovely weather

I've just been and bought a load of maternity clothes was quite nice to buy new things instead of having to drag out the old stuff

chillbunny i'm 16+4 so your not alone!

MrsTittleMouse · 12/05/2008 16:46

I'm glad that other people are having nipples "issues". I went up to DH the other day and asked him if my nipples smelt of milk. Now he thinks that I'm insane. Not that he minded that much.

sparklesandnowinefor5months · 12/05/2008 16:47

Does anyone know/remember what the average weight gain is supposed to be through pg? i've forgotten

hansnava · 12/05/2008 16:49

thanks cantsleep

i feel like a first time mum, i cant really remember ne thing about being pregnant. all i remember about movements is lying on my bed so feet on floor and back on bed and feeling this huge kick lol.

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/05/2008 16:49

toomuchtimeonline · 12/05/2008 17:17

Hello everyone - been a while since I've managed to get online so off to catch up - but big wave to everyone and very sorry to hear all of the sad news

toomuchtimeonline · 12/05/2008 17:46

Just from a quick scan of all the posts and to update ...

I'm 17 weeks now and have put about 4-5 pounds on.. My stomach looks totally pregnant now and I've been in maternity trousers for a couple of weeks!! Not sure I've felt any movement yet so very of those who have.. and I don't have a doppler..

Ekka · 12/05/2008 18:32

Hi all, I've been reading the posts but not posted myself - too busy running after dd and not coping that well with the heat...

V jealous at all the people who are feeling movements, but then I'll be 16 wks on Wed, so hopefully will feel them soon. I am a little worried about the weight gain issue - I've LOST 4lb since I got pregnant, and had no morning sickness or anything which could explain it. Hoping that the mw will set my mind at rest in my appt on Wed.

Dd (11mths) is going through a v awkward stage with food - she will not eat lumps/fingerfood or really any savoury stuff for lunch or tea but will happily put away a yoghurt/fruit if offered. Its driving me insane tbh, trying to find something that she'll eat and not resort just to feeding her fruit and sweet stuff.

accessorizequeen · 12/05/2008 19:04

CSWS, sorry to hear of the diabetes, luckily it can be managed so well these days but my head would be swimming too! Well, it's swimming already with twins stuff.
Within a month we'll all be complaining about being kicked by babies all day!

20 wk scan tomorrow, hope they're ok but have felt them loads so I think so.

jenwa · 12/05/2008 19:52

Anyone else suffering with hayfever? Its driving me mad and all I can take are the hero herbal tablets and they really dont work!

Sneeze sneeze thats all I am doing.

Have drs tomorrow so hoping to hear heartbeat again (heard last week at M/W which pleased me) and will also ask if can get anything else for hayfever!!!!

MrsTittleMouse · 12/05/2008 20:02

Me! I went to the doctor and he gave me a nasal spray called Nasonex. Apparently the active components aren't absorbed into the blood stream in detectable levels, so it's OK in pregnancy. What I wouldn't give for a decent antihistamine though... You can take away the nose, but it still leaves the eyes, the lungs, the general exhaustion. Sigh.

rosebury · 12/05/2008 20:17

Evening ladies been very busy the sun is fab except my rotary washing line callapsed full of washing it took ages brushing off the grass and now I have to go and buy a new one.

07mum you live very near me i have family who work at the willy maybe we should plan to meet up there for lunch one day and any other bristol mumsnetters. The shops at longwell green have a new look which has a maternity section theit stock rotates quite fast I b also bought a lot of there ordinary clothes in size 18 stretchy t shirts and elsticated sun dresses, you might be able to guess that I love shopping.

Sorry cant remember who saw the lady in labour in the car park but I had a similaar experience when I was at the hospital last week I was by the lift when a lady came out on a bed holding her new baby she had obviously just given birth and was on her way to the ward my dh said oh look theyve just had their baby I looked over and very nearly burst into tears they looked so pleased.

O n the subject of looking pregnant some shop assistants got me a chair last week and today a lady asked me if it was alright being pregnant in this warm weather I was thrilled because she must have felt very cinfident that I was pregnant and not just fat to have commented.

rach010 · 12/05/2008 20:18

Hi all,

not posted for a while but still been reading every few days.

I've just started with slight heartburn which i suffered badly with last time.

DS had sickness bug for a week, but over it now thankfully.

Think i felt little movements a couple of weeks ago but nothing since, i have read that this is normal though, i'm 17+1 so hopefully start feeling lots of movement soon.

Take care all

Jambers99 · 12/05/2008 20:22

ChilledBunny if I remember correctly we're due date buddies - I'm due on 30th October so only 15+4 now and right at the back of the queue, you're definitely not alone!

Got the maternity clothes down from the loft at the weekend, I'm starting to get a definite bump now so not long before I'll be in the stretchy waistband trousers. We go on holiday for 10 days on Thursday and I'm not sure whether the bump will expand lots while I'm away or whether I can gamble on wearing 'normal' clothes until I get back.

Don't think I'm feeling any movements yet, but hard to tell. Lots of strange stretching / pulling type feelings and some flutterings but I generally put those down to wind!

Ekka I sympathise with your feeding troubles - my son is 15 months and very suspicious of food. He's had quite a lot of sickness which the hospital are still investigating, and I think that makes him distrust anything new. He'd survive on crisps & yoghurt if we let him! Most finger foods, even biscuits, get flung on the floor without even being tried, but stones from the path outside go straight in his mouth...

sparklesandnowinefor5months · 12/05/2008 20:23

i feel so tired, put the DC to bed thought i'd grab myself a coffee (decaf ) and sit on here for a while as DP is out.......DC are bloody running around upastairs!! [grrr]

what i wouldn't give for some wine!!

caramelbunny · 12/05/2008 21:14

Like many of you, I've suddenly exploded in the last week. Big belly and massive boobs. Can't remember who else said this but I also spent ages looking at myself in the mirror trying to decide if I actually look pregnant to someone who doesn't know!

Had appointment with midwife last week and was reassuring to hear heart beat. Can't believe 20 weeks scans are upon some of us already! Good luck to everyone who has them soon. Enjoy the sun while it lasts.
