snowymum - you may be ok, once you're here - first time around for me I wasn't told I had to book until I was 32wks, we just got in at 36wks. If you want the number let me know.

snowymum · 06/05/2008 23:11

Ha - great minds - I just got the number from a website! thanks again.

bethoo · 07/05/2008 10:04

well it was a bug as have now passed it to dp so at least he knows how bloody awful i felt as he obviously thought i was exagerating. now all he goes on about is how terrible he feels! of course i do not want him anywhere near me now as there is no way i want to go throug hthat again! at least it confirms that it was not delayed mornign sickness!!

lovely day today and stuck in the office, dog sleeping under my desk, i wonder if he will make it home in this heat! may be dragging a dead dog home! boxers are not the best breed for hot weather!

counting the days ti lnext scan and 13 days to go!!! only 2 weeks and halfway there!

hope everyone else is making the most of the sun!

Morning all
I have my 15 week mw apointment this morning. Tmi warningI have really bad thrush so will ask her what i can use, have used just the cream but im in agony
Other than that i dont really feel pregnant, i was lucky enough to not have any morning sickness. If it wasn't for the stirrings of bubba i would think it was all in the mind!!
Hope everyone is well x

bethoo · 07/05/2008 10:33

all this talk of movement and kicks!! sorry but i am going to complain and moan unti i feel movement!!!

oliviaelanasmum · 07/05/2008 10:39

Bethoo with dd3 i didnt feel her kick until i was about 24 weeks and didnt start to show until then

belgo · 07/05/2008 10:40

oliviaelanasmum - you can use the internal canestan. That's been prescribed to me during pregnancy.

oliviaelanasmum · 07/05/2008 10:46

I shall go and get some when i see the mw then, thanks belgo

bethoo · 07/05/2008 11:11

but i am showing like the porker i am!!! i will relax as i can hear his/her little heartbeat on the doppler. thanks oliviae

ronshar · 07/05/2008 12:08

My darling DD1 asked me yesterday if my expanding tummy was the baby or was it flab!!
I mean really how rude can you be.

I get lots of movement but it is more noticeable if I am leaning forward. Baby obviously doesnt like being squashed up. Two weeks exactly till my 20/21 weeek scan. Very excited.

CSWS. How can you live without ice-cream? There must be some diabetic alternative about! You poor thing. Will it make a huge difference to your pregnancy, the gestational diabeties?

Emmsy what thread title do they hide under now? I lost them after the thread I started in Jan. I know what you mean about not wanting to leave but also feeling a bit out of place with all the ladies desparately waiting for BFPs.

07mumstheword · 07/05/2008 13:42

Bethoo I'm of all the movements the other girls are feeling too. I sway from worrying is everything ok to thinking I must just be patient. I don't have a doppler and worry that if I did I'd probably use it wrong and worry even more if I couldn't hear anything I have MW appt next Weds so I'm hoping she will hear the heartbeat to put my mind at rest.

My DD asked if my baby is pink or blue - she wants a pink one

Emmsy I'll check out the thread

Hi Sambrads how you doing?

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/05/2008 13:49

Hurrah for it just being a bug bethoo. Things are always much worse when men get them aren't they? Where do you work that you can take a dog in with you?!

Am also of those of you feeling lots of movement, but am sure that 20 weeks or so of feeling it will be enough!

Ronshar - I had to go last summer without ice cream too, due to dd's milk intolerance, although there was at least a dairy free alternative to that. Pretty certain there is no alternative this time . As long as I can control the GD with diet, then I don't think it should make too much difference to my pregnancy, except that I will get more growth scans, and probably be induced early . I should find out more at my appointment tomorrow, as I have more questions than answers myself at the moment.

CSWS i work for MoD and work in army camp where most people bring their dogs depending on whether the higher ranks allow it. i work with just civvies and my boss used to bring his in but he has since left and since my other dog died he has been lonely so my other boss suggested i bring him in since he is well behaved and getting on now so by the time dropped off ds adn walked to work he pretty much sleeps all day! he is good in that he does not bark at people and does not jump up or beg. so you rarely notice he is there!

rosebury · 07/05/2008 20:04

Evening ladies and welcome to all the newbies.

I had my scan today 18+3 the main thing is that all is well and I am having a boy and the consultant has agreed to my home birth and no further visits to the hospital.

At my hospital you need a full bladder for the scan I arrived with full bladder did not get called for 40mins you can imagine my discomfort the very nice lady spent ages trying to get the right angles etc baby did not want any of it she then decided that my bladder was too full too bloody full so the baby could not turn around i was then asked to go and partly empty my bladder and return to the waiting area. It was important that I do not empty my bladder can you imagine being absolutely bursting sitting on the loo and them having to stop peeing in mid flow. I waited another half an hour until called again by whicch time I was bloody bursting again anyway baby still not in right position I wanted to forget it but the lady said I will tip you upside down and before i new it the bed was moving my head going down and my feet going up into the air I could not believe it dh though it was hysterical whilst I was fuming anyway after a load more of messing about I finally had a wee two hours after arrival the best pee ever. I then had to wait to see the consultant about my homebirth talk about stress I really do feel like I have been through the ringer today but I am pleased about my healthy baby boy.

Good luck to the rest of you who have your scans to come soon.

snowymum · 07/05/2008 20:20

Jesus. They really do dehumanise you, don't they. Glad that all's ok and you're rid of hospitals now.

Can someone give me a slap? I am completely in the grumps because I've put on 18 pounds (I'm 19 weeks tomorrow) and my arse and thighs feel disgusting. And my mother hasn't helped by saying 'oh my god that is so much weight, you must stop eating cheese.'

Someone tell me it's what happens when you're pregnant, you just get fat and it's all in a good cause. becuase I know that it is, but I feel so foul tempered and down. Meh.

Lozza70 · 07/05/2008 20:25

Hi all. Good to hear about the good scans but very about feeling movements etc.

I'm having a really wobbly week. I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and feeling generally rough. I have sciatica which is really limiting my movement and I wake in the night with a sore tummy just below my boobs and sore kidneys. Hoping this will all pass and next week will be better

loulou33 · 07/05/2008 20:25

HI all,

sorry i've been absent for so long but been on hols and looking after ds on own as dh away watching football. Great news about all the scans - though pmsl at yours rosebury, there's no dignity involved in being pg is there?? I've got my scan next friday and am still waiting for triple test results. they said they would be a week if bad news and 2 weeks if no concerns but heard nothing and its been 2 1/2 weeks. I'm guessing its fine but will call tomorrow if still not heard ....

feeling plenty of movement but only if i sit still which doesn't happen much and am trying to potty train ds at the moment so its all go here

Take care
xx

accessorizequeen · 07/05/2008 21:32

Quick catch up, you lot talk so much!

loulou, hope the results come through soon so you're not left hanging.

lozza, that sound really painful, a friend described her sciatica to me last week (she was pg with twins) and I was wincing, I had no idea!

rosebury, great news on all fronts but I had to do that myself TWICE last time (empty bladder partly and go back). V.v.hard! I had drunk too much water to start with, I think. Felt such an idiot.

And hope everyone else awaiting movement feels flutters soon!

Jambers99 · 08/05/2008 08:08

Morning everyone - had a lovely day off yesterday, went out and bought paddling pool etc in the morning, then had 4 of DS's little friends round in the afternoon. Even though I only put the tiniest bit of water in the pool they all got absolutely soaked - and so did I, since DS decided he wanted a cuddle while he was dripping wet.

Congrats on having a boy rosebury. I hope to find out what I'm having at my scan is on 10th June.

Snowymum, at the risk of sounding like your mother, 18 lbs does sound quite a lot to have put on by this stage. In 'average' pregnancies (hah! who has one of those!), you should expect to gain about 2 stone in total. It might be worth checking out if you've got water retention and whether anything can be done about it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/05/2008 08:46

How exciting rosebury to have had your scan already. Still 3 weeks to wait here. I had a similar bladder bursting experience when I was having my mc, only was trying not to pass too many clots and bits too - very difficult!

Snowymum - are you a tiny wee thing normally? The guidelines say that you should only gain around 5 lbs up to 20 weeks (and 1 lb per week after that), but I think if you are tiny to start with then it's not uncommon to gain more. Of course you are free to gain as much as you like as long as you are happy with the fact that it will probably take longer to get it off again afterwards!

Yuk for sciatica lozza. Did you have it pre-pregnancy too?

Good luck with the potty training loulou. I have that to look forward to over the summer I expect, if not before.

Think I might be starting to feel a little movement now. Not kicks, but just something.

Jambers - it's amazing how far a tiny bit of water goes isn't it?!

i am feeling movements but still cant wait til i an get kicks my dh cant wait to feel it again .

i am so so jealous of you all heading on holidays i refuse to go anywhere abroad when im pregnant as i went at 25 weks to tenerife when i was pregnant with ds it was awful.

i wore travel socks but my whole feet and ankles turned to fat swollen jelly i also took really bad cramps in my leg and ended up in hospital as soon as we got back and to top it all off i got such a roasting it was awful !!!!!

i will have to wait til next may to get away

07mumstheword · 08/05/2008 09:53

Morning all.

Just reading about holidays and wondered what your thoughts are on the heat. We've got to book something for the end June beginning July.
I don't think I'll be able to cope with the heat abroad by then as it's hot enough for me here now and Sambrads has got me to thinking it'll be too much abroad.
Have any of you ladies any thoughts on UK or abroad when 24 wks pg?

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/05/2008 10:04

What about France mtw? We're off to the Vendee for the last couple of weeks of June. Should be similar temperatures to this week here! No flying needed either - we are driving over, and have installed a dvd player in the car especially to keep dd entertained on the way! Lots of Canvas/Siblu/Eurocamp/Keycamp places to choose from, and you could do Normandy/Brittany if you want to keep the journey really short and have a change of scene without the excessive heat.
