still suffering from nausea which is the longest tummy bug i have ever had. had to go to drs yesterday as was unbearable, so on anti nausea medication which is helping. jsut hope it is a bug and not dreaded mornong sickness as do not knpw how i could cope!!

pepperrabbit · 03/05/2008 21:45

bethoo, sorry to hear you are still suffering, hope the meds work soon. You must be exhausted.
I'm not actually on MN permanently at the mo but DH is watching snooker, while working in the other room, so not very good company tonight! (Though he did cook an excellent dinner first)..

bethoo · 03/05/2008 21:53

thanks pepperrabbit, it has been hard not being able to eat but can now so not too bad though feel sick now after pizza!!!
when i say gp yesterday she said smiling at me so you must be feeling lots of flutterings now? i replied no so she went next door to get the doppler thing to make sure there was a heartbeat! how worrying is that? i am not feeling anything yet though 18 weeks on monday, anyone else or is everyone feeling stuff now?

pepperrabbit · 03/05/2008 22:16

I'm not feeling anything yet and I was 17 weeks yesterday - this is my third and quite skinny-ish so thought I'd be able to feel it by now. Not helped by the really sad news from beakas and sugr who were both due on the same day as me . Haven't got a doppler or anything so keep hoping everythings OK in there!
Snooker finally seems to be over - hurray - till tomorrow that is - sigh!

accessorizequeen · 03/05/2008 22:43

beakas and sugr, so sorry to hear your news and hope your dh's are looking after you (and vice versa) at this time

bethoo, how horrible to feel like this for so long! Sure it can't be morning sickness coming in a this point, if people get pg nausea again it's usually 3rd trimester not second I thought?

I think with movement that towards 20 weeks is pretty normal for later pregnancies? Becoz often not until after 20 weeks with first time? I seem to remember with ds2 that it was closer to 20. I felt at 11 wks this time but then it is twins! Hard not to worry I know, as I haven't felt them much last couple of days and dp's just handed me glass of ice-cold water to see if that helps! I do think the position makes a difference as I think the dt's have shifted and I'm not protruding so much so their kicks maybe towards my spine rather than stomach iyswim.

jess1996 · 04/05/2008 09:00

Hello everyone. Haven't posted for a while as I was so busy at work. Really sorry to hear the news of beakas and sugr .

I am almost 16 weeks now and have a 16 week appt with the midwife next week. I'm hoping she'll be able to hear the heartbeat. I have a home doppler and I'm pretty sure I can hear it, but it would be nice to find out that I am listening to the right thing!

I'm still only in my normal clothes. I'm limited to two pairs of trousers, but I've no real bump yet. Also no movements, although I suppose 16 weeks is quite early for a 1st pregnancy.

Actually I feel a bit of a fraud now. No more morning sickness and no bump. Maybe I've imagined the whole thing......

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/05/2008 10:10

pepperrabbit - I'm only a couple of days off 19 weeks and still not feeling anything (had one day of somersaults a couple of weeks ago but nothing since). Don't think it's that unusual tbh.

Right ladies, I've done a bit of a tidy up/cull of the stats, so they now look like this...

sugr and beakas really sorry about your recent news. When you feel strong enough there is a miscarriage thread under the conception topic. There are a lot of lovely ladies there who can offer you support and possibly help you get through this terrible experience.x

I am due on 23rd October (that's what the hosp told me!) my fdlp was 26th Jan, but I 'O' very early either on cd 8 or 9, so probably due on 27th or 28th Oct. I have noticed a few names on here that I have spoken to before on different threads. I didn't join this thread before as I have had 2 previous consec m/c's and wanted to feel more confident with the pregnancy before I joined an ante natal thread. I do have a big family all ready, so I know I am very lucky.I have been desperate for 1 last child since Aug 96 and am thrilled to bits that all is ok (at the moment!)I had my first scan at 10wks and 4 days and am currently into my 16week. Next scan due on 9th June, I have only had the normal routine blood tests taken at my booking in appt, I do worry a bit about the risks of having another baby so late on in life, but life is full of risks and I have chosen to take this one. I will now update the stats

CSWS I only copied the main list, didn't realise there was more names. I am glad I didn't though as I don't want to post my first message and look responsible for the message about 'erasing' the other girls names, it looks really cheeky for a newcomer to do that! although it now looks as though I have actually erased them anyway!! still, I won't start messing around and copying the stats again, I'm sure if the ladies want to be added back, they will do it themselves or ask someone to do it for them!

snowymum · 04/05/2008 11:32

Thanks for doing the update csws.

I am in one of those phases at the moment - 18+3 - where I've just realised how long it is until October! And I am really quite rounded in the belly already. And my boobs are huge - I've already grown out of one maternity bra size. If I put on a pound a week from now on I will have put on nearly 4 stone by the end - that is way too much, surely?

And another thing (maybe a stupid first timer question) - when I lie down (so all the flab disappears around the sides!) and put my hand on my lower belly, the bump feels rock hard and actually like a melon (first time one of those fruit-related size comparisons has had any meaning!) Is this normal - should I be able to feel such a pronounced, er, thing, uterus, whatever?

It's two weeks to my 20 week scan and whilst I was doing quite well, being distracted by work and life, every second of every day I'm now thinking about the baby, about being pregnant and I'm getting so impatient! Two weeks seems like an eternity, let alone another 22!

Is it just me?

bethoo · 04/05/2008 11:42

snowymum yes that is normal at this stage it is as big as a melon and jsut underneath the bellybutton! i love feeling mime when it is hard as sometimes it is not!!

snowymum · 04/05/2008 11:45

Thanks bethoo! God, isn't mumsnet great! I can relax now.

bethoo · 04/05/2008 11:54

snowymum may be tmi but when yo orgasm it also goes hard and pops out!

snowymum · 04/05/2008 12:19

Something to watch out for! Seriously, they should include this stuff in books - i've never heard that and it could freak you out if you didn't know!

pepperrabbit · 04/05/2008 21:16

evening all, being a snooker widow tonight again, may just have a hot chocolate and go to bed, though your facemask idea is quite appealing Bethoo - maybe a hot bath as well en route! Sleep well all.

hansnava · 04/05/2008 23:25

07mumstheword · 05/05/2008 08:26

Hi CSWS I'm still looking at the thread but been so ill and tired (no excuse really) then on holiday and DD birhtday I have not been as active as I should have been. I'd quite like to stay on the list though if you don't mind adding me back on?

I'm so pleased this thread is here as I've been worrying about the lack of movement at 16 wks and I log in to find that very subject on here to put my mind at rest. Thank you.

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday and I will try and keep up to date a bit more.

Lesley21 · 05/05/2008 08:26

Hi Everyone

I have no idea idea how to start this, but I just wanted to introduce myself and bump. Bump due 13th October.

October seems soooooo far away. Nevermind the fact that we're getting married in 3 weeks, which I haven't even thought about as the 20wk scan is the Monday before - Lol!!

Anyhoo, just wanted to say hi
Lxx

07mumstheword · 05/05/2008 08:40

Hi Lesley congratulations on the baby and the wedding, what an exciting time for you Is this your first child?

mum2jakeyroo · 05/05/2008 08:54

Hi all. CSWS Can I stay on too please. Not an excuse but had loads going on. dss been in hospital for a few weeks and moving house etc. Been watching just not posting. I promise to post more often.

immo · 05/05/2008 08:54

hi everyone!!

hope everyones doing gud. Beakas and Sugar i am really sorry to here abt ur news. Hope u guys are taking care of urself.

Well i had my 20 week scan on saturday and everything seems to be normal. It lasted for 45 mins and it was real fun to watch the baby moving, kicking, scratching his/her ears, hiding the face wit the hands. And they also showed me the baby on 3 d scan as well(though it was only for 10 mins). They even gave me a CD to take home. Unfortunetley here they dunt tell u the sex of the baby so its kinda sad..though i really wanted to knw if its a baby girl or a boy...oh well but i tried really hard to concentrate on the screen and see if i can guess something. I think its a girl but i am not 100% sure. Since i had severe morning sickness and my babys heart beat was always 145 Plus so i guess it has to be a girl...but u never know. Hope u guys had a great weekend..
