Oh beakas, that's terrible. I feel so miserable for you

I think we all assume that getting to 12 weeks and seeing all is well at the first scan means that everything will go fine for the rest of the pregnancy.

Hope you're able to take some time off, and grieve for your little one. Take good care of yourself, and wishing you the very best of luck when you're ready to try for another baby x x

beakas i am so sorry for your loss

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/05/2008 13:58

Oh beakas I am so sorry. Although m/c is very hard whenever it happens, it seems especially cruel after 12 weeks, once most people have started to relax a bit more. Take good care of yourselves.

News here a bit confusing but not great. Hospital want to teach me how to monitor my blood sugar at home, so I assume that means I am bordering on having gestational diabetes. Got the letter an hour ago and they want me to go in at 4pm today for an hour long appointment! Obv I can't make it at such short notice, so will have to phone and rearrange.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 01/05/2008 15:24

Very sorry Beakas - my sympathies to you and your partner.

Thank you Can'tsleep, Ronshar, Hedgepig and Myjobismum - I called my Midwife this morning and she has said to come in tommorrow and she will do the blood test - I was a bit about the whole wait until my ds has slapped cheek thing from the GP - as I thought the point was that if I am immune (which I most likely am) then it doesn't matter if I am exposed to it!

Some GP's really have the knack of making you feel like a neurotic hypochondriac!

SmudgeyDoodle · 01/05/2008 15:33

Beakas, really to hear your news. Like others have said, take care of you and your OH and wish you all the best.

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/05/2008 17:35

Have spoken the the hospital now, and it seems that my result was 7.9 and the threshold is 7.8. This means that they don't know for sure whether I have GD or not, and need to do some monitoring to determine. Appointment rebooked for next Thursday. Now just need to find someone to look after dd when dh will be out of the country and in-laws still on hols! They have told me to cut out all sugar from my diet until then, even in things like fruit juice and cereal.

Hi Everyone
Big hugs for Beakas - you were right to start to relax and it is so so unfair that it had to happen to you - hope you are able to take some time out to look after yourself. I had an MMC at 10 weeks but didn't find out til scan at 13 weeks and that was bad enough - you must be devastated! There are some really good MMC threads on here - I can point you to them if needed

have to go
keep feeling faint and can't type standing up (at home - office is now cleared for nursery so is an ampty box arghhh)

minervaitalica · 01/05/2008 17:45

Beakas I am really sorry to hear your news - I hope you are getting the support you need at home...

Nothing to report here - feeling a bit in limbo as I cannot feel my baby moving yet (18 wks tmrw) and I the only symtom I have is continuous tiredness and generally feeling "off". Seeing the GP on Tuesday so hoping to listen to heartbeat just for some reassurance...

bethoo · 01/05/2008 18:50

Beakas - terribly sorry for your loss and thinking of you at this time.

i am back though have not eaten in two days ,was throwing up til 215 wednesday mornign and then felt nauseas on wednesday and absolutley exhausted as had not slept. today still did not go to work as still no appetite and whole body ached and had chest and stomack pains. feeling a bit better now so hoping to try some chips later tonight and pray that i can keep them down! it was like multiple scenes froom the excorcist on tuesday!

emkay · 01/05/2008 19:47

Beakas - I'm so, so sorry, it's a terrible thing to happen at any time but I'm sure somehow so much worse for being after the first 12 weeks. My heart goes out to you.

hedgepig · 01/05/2008 19:57

Beakas big hug I am so sorry for you and DH .

Bethboo - this sounds like a bug or food poisoning rather than morning sickness starting again. Have you spoken to you mw? Poor you hopefully you are getting through it.

I finally had my scan today and all is well. I suppose the only good thing about waiting until 16 weeks for my dating scan is they could tell the sex. If I am completely honest I was hoping for another girl (so was dd) to kind of even the family out) but its a boy dh is dead chuffed and can't keep the grin off his face.

Had to stick to my guns over the home birth as dr said I have to have it in hospital as its my 5th pregnancy, but after a bit of a discussion consultant agreed as long as I am aware of the risks it is my decision and the midwife is quite happy to do a home birth, so I should get my way in the end.

It was the longest hospital appointment ever 3.5 hours for scan, midwife, followed by dr then consultant, then blood tests.

However have had flu and chest infection for a week so not eaxctly the heathiest pg person around grrrr

snowymum · 01/05/2008 21:23

Beakas, I am so sorry about your dreadful news. My thoughts are with you and yours.

I had my triple test results today - 1 in 26000 risk so doesn't get much better than that. V pleased.

Get well soon Bethoo.

caramelbunny · 01/05/2008 21:33

I'm so sorry to hear what's happened beakas. Take care.

KSal, glad everything ok, must have been upsetting, how insensitive to make comments like that within your hearing.
Hope everything ok with you ronshar.

Poor Lozza! I'm not a public crier but that's just the sort of thing my mum would do and I would have been reduced to tears if a small minded power crazed git had thrown my presents in the bin.

accessorizequeen · 01/05/2008 21:42

so sorry beakas, hope you and your dh are taking care of each other

bethoo, I had exact same thing last week, I felt pretty awful for 5 days and just ate very little for a while. Ginger ale settled my stomach nicely in the end, if that helps. Got concerned about the dt's as couldn't tell if they were kicking my stomach was making so much other noise!

moodywren, congrats on your scan, your dd will be looked after with 3 brothers! I can't wait until next scan to see if dt2 is a girl or boy (dt1 is a boy).

myjob, think your little boy doing v.well so far, they are quite decisive about it aren't they?

perkypopsy, you are in the wars, you must be so tired with all of that going on, at least you can rest up?

beakas I am so sorry as I know exactly how you are feeling. Went to my 16 week midwife appointment on Tuesday and she couldn't find a heartbeat. Hospital confirmed later that day that our baby had died and yesterday was spent at the hospital and now it is all over, hopes and dreams gone.

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/05/2008 08:58

Oh sugr . I'm so sorry.

Lozza70 · 02/05/2008 09:30

beakas and sugr I'm so sorry for your losses It must be so difficult when the 12 week thing seems to be such a milestone and relief. Look after yourselves and take your time to get back on your feet.
