Hope everyone's got as nice weather as we have in Southampton today - no coats, yippee! Might even let the poor neglected guinea pigs out for a run.

I AM EATING A KK RIGHT NOW! The ring one with all the hundreds and thousands on it. I had to bring cakes into the office for my birthday and so we're all tucking in .

Scan went well yesterday, although it was the mumbling, slow, newly qualified sonographer again (arrgh!). He scanned me three times which took an hour as he double and triple checked his measurements. It was so hot and I really needed a wee. But all OK as far as he could tell.

He forgot to find out the sex even though he'd asked us twice if we wanted to know!) so I asked him if he could have another look . He said 'it's likely it's a boy' (yey!) but wouldn't say for sure. We both thought we could see something sticking out! So I'm going with boy because that's what I wanted to hear .

My mum tried (and failed) to hide her disappointment. But I'm so looking forward to having a house full of scrapping boys.

Off to gobble up KK crumbs .

I wonder who she got to trim her ladygarden? Perhaps she has staff for such a thing

Am feeling a bit rubbish today...woke up feeling exhausted and achey all over, so have been working from home this morning i.e. I'm still in my pyjamas and have drunk about 100 cups of tea. Did do some work though - thanks Mumsnet for being offline!

I don't know why I'm feeling so crap - partly a bit worried cos I haven't felt any movement today, partly fed up with having stupid backache, and partly just some unspecific blues that I can't identify...sigh.

Off to meet a friend and her little son for a cup of tea later, hopefully that will cheer me up. And I can pick her brains about the midwife-led birthing centre - I'm hoping to have the baby there if things continue low risk.

cyteen, i got really angry with people when they told me but its probably just your hormones making you feel down. have you got something nice at home that you can have for lunch? perhaps have a relaxing bath? a little bit of pampering usually helps me

a trick i was told about getting baby to move was put a cup of tea (through a t-shirt) on my tummy. they seem to respond to a really warm bit and kick. make sure you don't burn yourself though! (nb i have no idea if this is good/bad for baby so try it at your own risk!)

also, try and focus on the good things...its a beautiful day. how old is your friend's son? my friend has got a 2yr old and her cuddles fix most of my blues

Just caught up with messages. Congrats Sarahnh with your scan news too, glad everything's was OK.

I had a good birthday, nice lunch out, good presents (lovely Jo Malone perfume from DH). DS surpassed himself though. Woke us up at 5 am for a cuddle, went back to sleep in our bed so I gave DH a kick to take him back. Good job I did too as he wet his bed at 7 and came in with a sad face and drippy PJs He hasn't done that before and was a bit upset I think.

Then later when I was getting out of the shower (I love having an audience ) he said ' Your tummy's getting bigger' and when I walked out of the bathroom he said 'AND your bottom's getting bigger too!'.

Hazie - Lady at Silver Cross said they were launched weekend just gone and are in new catalogue. Why they haven't updated their website is a mystery. Perhaps their IT dept is as slow as ours here

miamla - thank you for cheering me up I'm going to have a hot shower in a minute and then put some slap on, try and make myself feel human. Will definitely try the hot tea trick as well - I'll keep you posted on whether it works and whether I end up needing medical attention

Friend's little boy is about 6 months, I think. I haven't met him yet but I know from pictures that he is ridiculously cute (she's fantastic looking anyway, so no wonder - she was still in her size 8 skinnies at 6 months pg ) so I'm sure a bit of gurgling and dribbling will brighten up my day. He can even join in if he likes

Cyteen - I have also been fed up for no reason. I keep thinking I shoudl be so happy, have DD and baby on the way what have I got to be sad about? But can't help it. Over the past 3/4 weeks been in tears at least 3 times each week for no reason. So hope that helps, you are not alone

Long time no contact - and after such a massive gap haven't had a chance to see how everyone's doing? Just reading a thread about getting the bump to respond - I've had days when I've been worried about lack of movement and I was told either to down a glass of cold water (which has worked pretty much every time) or take a warm bath (which I haven't tried yet).

Hope everyone's well! Will try to log on a bit more regularly in future - have a 20week scan on Tuesday morning and will check back in afterwards to report back.

hi everyone - happy friday - had a good week this week - best so far! Have managed to go to aquanatal, out for lunch with two friends, had a lie in til 8.30 this morning as DH got up with the kids and I am hoping to push it and go to maternity yoga tonight - life is looking up! Plus am meant to be meeting a friend net week for tea and it is near the Mnachester KK shop so may finally get my fix as haven't had one for years and had to go and get a bog standard jam donut the other day which was nice but just not as good! Feeling much calmer and am now actually looking forward to my 2nd daughter and 4th and final child arriving! Have also pretty much decided to go for another home birth (had ds2 at home, well I say at home but actually a considerable part of labour was at a conference on breastfeeding where I gave a speech about being a bf support counsellor to the high and mighty inc. head of PCT!!) I could wax lyrical about my birth stories for hours but won't bore you all!

Still not tried a KK yet but had a huge sticky iced cream-filled bun with a cherry on the top this afternoon, will that do? Wanted to take the kids out for early tea (gluttonous unborn one too natch) at local greasy spoon to celebrate end of term but the flippin cafe had just shut at 4pm! Am tempted to pop an anonymous note in suggesting they stay open til 5pm and advertise kids' portions/happy hour in the window. They'd do very well as there's nowhere else walking distance from school to get a slap-up tea and now it's no smoking they could attract a whole new market. What do you think?

cyteen and shazza I've had the blues for the last week or two (I think they are lifting now), the type of blues where one tiny off thing would have me creeping under the duvet weeping bitter tears of self-pity. Yuck at myself! On weepy days I just wanted to sleep endlessly and not go to work. Anyway trying (successfully) to shake it off, it helps when the sun comes out!

Tonight, taking DS to this show, should be fun, and we're going out for a nice supper beforehand. My idea of a lovely Friday night!

nooo, don't talk about food! after the KK chat earlier i found a big bar of belgian milk chocolate. i've eaten all of it and feel sick! (i'm blaming libbysister!)

cyteen, you feeling a bit happier after seeing your friend? I too have had random attacks of tears. don't think i've had any since Easter Sunday though (i was 22wks ish) so perhaps it does get better!

VG that show looks great! Not wishing to scare you but did you see Torchwood a few weeks ago when a travelling circus came to life from an old film? was a good episode but i'm sure your circus will be less sinister!
