Thanks ladies, my heart most certainly did miss a beat or 2 yesterday. I really wanted to get to 9 weeks with no spotting or bleeding, which thankfully I seem to be on target for. Tomorrow I am 8+6 and that is the day I woke up to spotting when we had our miscarriage, so a hurdle that I am looking forward to getting past.
Hanaflower, I think I would be asking if there was anyting that can be given to help with the nausea, or you could end up dehydrated and in hospital. I feel for you, hugs.
TheDoctorsWife, I just remembered I meant to comment on the bathing thing. I was very quickly shown how to do this on the ward was ds1, but they made it look so easy, the reality was very different at home, it took 2 of us and reduced us both to hysterical laughter. In the end, we bought a little rectangular washing up bowl. It is great for those early weeks as you can put it up on the counter top so you don't hurt your back. Once the boys were a little bigger, we invested in one of those bath support things for the baby bath. A month or 2 later, it became dh's job to bath the boys and it has stuck, he always gives them their bath (although ds1 is nearly 7 now and sometimes likes a bit of privacy when bathing!).
I also did a little clothes shopping today. I can tell how much I have "thickened" with a pair of semi casual black trousers I used to wear to work. They were a little loose pre pregnancy, but now are digging in. Thankfully we have a good seconds type charity shop here. They had some maternity stuff which was quite useful, first time I had seen any, although in fairness, I would not have been looking for it before, lol! I managed to get a skirt and a pair of trousers, which are both sooo comfy (am wearing the skirt now!) and a top. I also plan on trying to fit a stop in to H&M on Monday on my way to take ds2 to his hospital appt in Brum. Like it has been said, it is a little reassuring to be getting thicker around the middle!
