yeah I know, but I have to get up to drive him to the station, but he could leave me in bed 10 mins b4 he needs to go and i could do it then, but instead he wakes me up 40 mins b4, so really im not getting any lie ins.

My own fault cos I bloody love him too much!

PFJ - yes please!! Could I please have some vanilla ice cream with it?

OP posts:
sagitta · 28/03/2008 16:02

Carey - can't he iron his own shirt?

sagitta · 28/03/2008 16:05

Advice please? I've got a friend coming to stay for weekend. Can anyone suggest any food that is completely easy. I am feeling too tired and lazy to cook, and am going to buy it all from the shops - but what would be nice (veggie friend, by the way)?

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 16:06

Quorn with red pesto and creme fraiche, taglitielle.

Jacket pots, quorn chilli/spag bol sauce. Beans and cheese?

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 16:07

Sausages, chips, beans.

Frittata

Carey87 · 28/03/2008 16:08

Veggie sausages with carrot and swede mash (ready made!) and onion gravy

I Don't Do Ironing. But even if I did, anyone, no matter how much I loved them, who tried waking me up to do it would only ever try it once. And that's when I'm not pregnant...

sagitta · 28/03/2008 16:09

Frittata sounds good. I'd like it to look as if I've made an effort / spent money without actually having to make an effort...iyswim

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 16:09

DH would have an iron in his head. And apologise to me, lol.

I don't iron - i use my tumble drier and time the finishing on the clock and get it and shake it all out. Nothing needs ironing then, not even jeans. I have those eco-balls and they help with minimising creases and reduce drying time.

sagitta · 28/03/2008 16:10

P&L - same here...

DD was obssessed with wathing my mum ironing when we were on holiday as she'd never seen anyone iron before

sagitta · 28/03/2008 16:11

spelling, sorry

VictorianSqualor · 28/03/2008 16:26

Carey, cheat.
I wash DP's shirts then put them one at a time in the tumble dryer.
At the most they need a quick going over for like 30 seconds.
I hate ironing with a passion but if DP does need a shirt doing I do normally do it once I've sat the kids down to breakfast, however he is very grateful and he knows I would happily use it as ammo if need be.

I also just remembered he told the kids if he passed his assessment centre he would take us all for an Indian so I just reminded him about that

bunyanvillas · 28/03/2008 16:29

Sagitta - rissotto plus a nice crisp, green salad? Oh, ToastAddict NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO but I wanted peanut butter immediately! Blast. Right that's it, he's going straight to bottle feeding Have only had 2 aeros today plus one piece of choc cake. Think will try and leave it at that. So, who else is in labour - anyone?

Piccalilli2 · 28/03/2008 16:34

I'm with Portandlemon on this one, I Do Not Do Ironing. Dh's shirts get taken to the Persil concession in Sainsburys, nothing else gets ironed unless we're going somewhere special.

Sagitta, what about aubergine baked with tomato sauce and cheese, with salads?

I think I'm still at least 2 weeks away from being in labour (38+4 today) although did have period type pains all last night - deeply annoying as it kept me awake for ages but doesn't seem to have actually kick-started anything. I have been nesting hugely though, have frozen a stack of meals for us and dd and cleaned the bathroom. Just trying to work up the energy to hoover before picking dd up from nursery.

sagitta · 28/03/2008 16:35

Yep, I think I've decided on risotto. Thanks!

Congrats for DP, by the way, VS

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 28/03/2008 16:37

Carey - your man is very spoilt!! I hoe he realises how lucky he is!

Sagitta - how about a stir fry with ready chopped veggies from the supermarket? Or a nice take away veggie pizza?!

Carey87 · 28/03/2008 16:42

yeah he knows hows lucky he is, he's a very good dp (well after the whole car insurance thing! lol!)

I WANT BABY NOW!!!

Sorry, feel better now

bunnyrabbit · 28/03/2008 17:15

So jealous of all the gorgeous babies and all those in labour.

And yes I have knitting needles up my undercarriage! I really thought that last night things might start... no luck though.

I've even made gingerbread men today, even though I don't like them. But DS asked and I think Shrek had a lasting affect!!

BR

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 28/03/2008 17:17

Ah well when they are VERY good then you don't mind spoiling them a little hey!

Mmm - chocolate cake and gingebread men - yummy! Might have to bake something myself now!

ThePFJ · 28/03/2008 17:20

Can I join in the whinge?

DP has been angry all day, using my mum not turning up as an excuse to be grumpy at me and take everything out on me. Apparently helping me with some housework yesterday (that needed doing -doesnt it always?) in order to get things nice for when she got here is now a major imposition.
Today I washed a bowl he was using and World War three broke out. How was I supposed to know!!?

Oh and re: ironing. Hate it. NEVER do it. I just tumble and hang stuff. Easy peasy. AND avoid buying shirts that look like they will be a crinkle nightmare.
Thats my rules anyways.

DP just shouted up to me 'telling all your friends what a bastard I am are you?'

My reply... hmmm. >.<

Whinge over.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Oh and Carey... 'I WANT BABY NOW TOO!!!!'
(Perhaps this will shut DP up)

christmaspixie · 28/03/2008 17:34

My Midwife came today with home birth pack!! Seemed very exciting, and she was sooooo positive about home birth! I feel really ahppy now that it might actually happen at home and I won't have to face the dreaded hospital (ours is awful, even check ups there make me panic!)

Also she said although I've got huge bump 'tis loads of fluid, and baby is quite small, and that I may want to wear wellies when my waters go !!!Do you think they are correct about sizes much or not, just by feeling??
Good luck to all those of you in labour, or with signs! As I thought, mine was deeply engaged but now popped up and in the rim, whatever that means. PFJ, tell your Mum you want her there now!! x

V1KK1M · 28/03/2008 17:41

Good luck to all those that have started!!!

After all my recent activity it all seams to have stopped.

I have had some reflexology today which was very nice - does anyone have any previous experience with this?

bunnyrabbit · 28/03/2008 18:02

Cheated at lunch time though. DH still home sick so did mammoth shop at Tesco and bought hot roast chicken for lunch. So no need to cook tonight... have bought stuff to make huge beef casserole on Sunday though. Hoping if I freeze enough I won't have to cook till I go back to work!!

V1, that sounds nice.. let us know if it works and we'll all be at it!

Ah well nearly DSs bath time.....

TTFN

BR
PS. At last I remembered to buy a Tesco internet phone so can make free calls to my Sister in Germany. She had her DS at the beginning of Feb so been spending quite a lot on phone calls!!!

moominsmummy · 28/03/2008 18:05

am also getting knitting-needles-in-the-fanjo especially when baby has a good wriggle and stretch - I think it's when head is pressing down on cervix - I don't think it means anymore than that as I am only 36 weeks and this one is v unlikely to be here before 42 weeks......

I have been religiously eating Peanut Butter for ages as the advice actually changed recently and said you SHOULD eat it - apparently having it during pg and bf sensitises the baby to it in a safe way

seems to make sense as my friend avoided peanuts all pg and bf and her DD is so allergic to peanuts she starts getting a rash if she stands within 10feet of someone eating peanuts
