Cornish pasty?? Gods I need one of those.
But guess what. Mum called this morning and she's NOT coming.

Will start banging my head against wall now.

VS and co. you got me wanting to check my cervix now.. but I am too chicken to try.

Peachy · 28/03/2008 13:19

VS well done

Moomins- have no idea about anti-biotics (maybe our resident pharmacist will be about later?, from a hippy perspective would be doing all I can to boost natural immunity- apparently you can take up to ten garlic eprles a day (tiny little odourless things from holland and barratt) and boost by taking with vitamin c- cranberry is a good source, esp. in pregnancy.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 28/03/2008 13:21

What a cute baby Knitter!!!! He is adorable!

Very naughty of yor GP moominsmummy! I hate to even think of how ill that would have made you. Can you not take Eurithromicen (sp?) as an alternative antibiotic? And your poor DH - I hope he gets better soon - sending him postive vibes...

Oh and good luck to the 2 lucky ladies in labour today!! Look forward to hearing how it all goes!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 28/03/2008 13:25

sorry - x posted with our resident pharmacist TA!

moominsmummy · 28/03/2008 13:34

can't take erythromycin as am intolerant of it (puke it back up within 10 mins so pointless trying to take it) - our GP did ring me and said the only other one would be trimethoprim (sp?) and I can't have it cos I'm 36 weeks

don't trust a word he says now anyway - what a pratt

PFJ - can't believe your mum is not now coming what's happened? big (((hugs))) for you

KnitterInTheNW · 28/03/2008 13:56

I just ran in to boast that I just had a very delicious brie and tomato sandwich for lunch, and to distract you all from throwing things at me, show you these

EllieG · 28/03/2008 14:19

Oh my goodness knitter George is soooooo beautiful! What a lovely baby am all sniffy now....I hope mine is as cute as him

Well done to your DH VS!

Sorry about your Mum PFJ, I know how much you were looking forward to her coming x

Went to ante natal and they said LO head is engaged, and fundal measurement is 39 weeks though I am only 37. They are going to give me a growth scan next week to see if baby is a little fatty or not. Mind you, not sure what they will do about it if she is, aside from wince in sympathy at me having to squeeze out a 12llb-er.

ThePFJ · 28/03/2008 14:19

Knitter he is soooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!

Moomin its mumble something to do with the car mumble mumble... I have no idea.

VS I looked at that cervical examination page you linked us to... I felt faint trying to read it. Whats UP WITH ME??
Ah well.. this labour should be fun for me then

Hehehe.. -rops-

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 28/03/2008 14:44

Knitter you have the cutest baby!! He is lovely and I want mine noooow!!

Sorry about your mum PFJ - that really sucks - especially as you were so excited about her coming.

ToastAddict · 28/03/2008 14:52

Awwww knitter, he's gorgeous

Sorry to hear about your mum PFJ. Being awfully flippant - she has time to change her mind again!

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 15:03

Knitter he is beautiful!!! I particularly love the pic of him after his bath

Can't wait to meet Millie - think she is stil boobing around, got a definite bum under my ribs If this was my last pregnancy i would have her by 3am next Friday.

bunyanvillas · 28/03/2008 15:09

Aw Knitter, what a lovely ickle thing! You must be so proud! Could you have a peanut butter sandwich for me, I really fancy one and this will be my post-birth treat on toasted granary bread washed down with a glass of champers.

bunyanvillas · 28/03/2008 15:09

Cripes, all my recent posts seem to mention food

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 15:16

Oh i could kill him. (ds1). And im very tired. Roll on 2 hours when DH will be home.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 28/03/2008 15:18

Why - what's he done?

northeastmummy · 28/03/2008 15:18

Mmmmmmm - peanut butter on toast with champagne. That sounds FAB!!!

Terrible news about your Mum PFJ. Maybe you just need to say to her ... COME SEE ME. She maybe hasn't clocked how important to you her visit would be?

Congrats to your DH VS - great news. I read your comments on vacaloca's labour thread by the way. Have you ever thought about being a midwife/antenatal teacher/doula? I just think you write so much sense. And you're SO resourceful and passionate about babies.

Knitter ... awwwwwwwwwwwwwww ...

Good luck to everyone showing signs .

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 15:20

Oh he's just very physical and pully, shouty and everything really with ds2. Have tried to tell him nicely and in a way he will understand for ages now to play nicely. Have just seperated them and reunited them; better now. Worse becuase i'm tired i think and cannot go out - raining.

ToastAddict · 28/03/2008 15:33

OK, I really hate to be the one to say this, but.... we were told at antenatal to avoid all peanuts whilst we were breastfeeding too

But it is only relevant if you or family have asthma/eczema/hayfever/peanut allergy.....

And the evidence is a bit but that is still the official advice

Sorry

northeastmummy · 28/03/2008 15:38

We're lucky enough not to have a history of allergies in our family so I've eaten peanut butter through both my pregnancies. I would think it's something to watch out for while breastfeeding though if there is a risk.

PortAndLemon · 28/03/2008 15:45

I've eaten peanut butter throughout both too. There were times with DS that it was all I could bring myself to eat, and I thought on balance starvation was worse...

Only mild allergies (hay fever) in the family, and as you say the evidence is a bit -- no indication AFAIK that the countries where women aren't told to avoid peanuts have any higher incidence of allergies, and there's that study going on at the moment in the UK to see whether the advice is plain wrong and actually we should all be virtually bathing in the stuff...

Carey87 · 28/03/2008 15:47

Hi everyone!

Good luck to all of those that are in labour

Why is it that now I am on maternity leave I seem to have less time to be on mumsnet???

I think my nesting has started. Decided to paint the bathroom which the previous owners had painted blue over very nice antique tiles. Now painted white. Took 4 coats!!! And I laid carpet! Very proud of myself. Have pulled out all the clothes and am going to iron them, fed up of having to do it every morning and DPwaking me up to do his shirt.

Keep getting strong twinges in what feels like my fanjo but they are very irregualar, also cant walk normally, feel as if I'm walking like john wayne, does this mean that baby is engaged?

{passes around some hot cross buns with lots of butter on them}
