Exciting news from TLSM and Vacaloca - seems there's something new happening every day. Yay!

I bought a pack of 9 Mars bars yesterday even though chocolate gives me heartburn. I've only had two so far though, about to start on the third...

Denny185 · 28/03/2008 09:49

Same old story here then 2 days away from the computer and nearly a full thread again.

Goodluck to vacaloca and TLSM. Things moving along on here now arnt they. Sorry for those of you not moving as quickly as youd like.

Names and spellings - try have a name like Corinna, no-one can ever spell and if they see if written cant pro-nounce it. My tutor at uni spent 3 years mispro-nouncing it dispite reg correction. Used to bother when younger but i dont mind having different name now. Think you should all choose your favourites with the spellings you want and not have a compromise otherwise you may regret later on.

TMP - how can you look so good after giving birth? Lovely pics, knitter keep trying will be nice to see George.

Had mw app yesterday, all ok baby 3/5 engaged. But had phone call from hospital to change section date now on Thurs - only a days difference but kind of a let down when youve have a date to work to for the last 4 and half months. If i could just get things started before then ...........

Denny185 · 28/03/2008 09:50

Chocolate for breakfast - much better on the old heart burn than at night and in the interests of happy babies surely completely acceptable?

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 10:10

Emilia being popular on this thread.....more than likely Millie will be Millie Grace Jessamy XXXXX. Does that go? Surname starts with a 'C' with X sound in it. DH said she will hardly ever say the whole lot anyway.

38 weeks today. COME ON MILLIE!! @ TLSM & Vacaloca - good luck ladies!!

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 10:16

I can feel my cervix. What does it fee like when its getting ready? Mine is soft and easy to reach - also understand the finger thing

VictorianSqualor · 28/03/2008 10:26

cervical changes

Sheds75 · 28/03/2008 10:28

possibly TMI but for I'm not sure if I should be ringin the MW or not, got up this morning and had quite a dribble of liquid, but nothing since then. This also happened a little bit yesterday morning. Any advise???

good luck TLSM and Vaca

christmaspixie · 28/03/2008 10:39

Thanks for that link VS, explains a lot I had no clue about!!I would ring the midwife, sheds, it's prob just a small leak, but I expect they will want to know.......

Peachy · 28/03/2008 10:48

Morning all.

Well today is the first of my 2 due dates- and nothing, had a really bad night- felt like I was having a panic attack for over an hour and swelled right up but couldn't call DH as he ahs his appraisal last night and was uncontactable, bit more with it today but Sam has started on a meltdown slope which means that for the next week we'll have to monitor his every move. It's because I took him out yesterday, but the ohhters can't stay in every day.
I think there were signs yesterday he was going into this which is what triggered the bad night.

Dh home for a few days now which should help.

excited for everyone who is getting ready

VictorianSqualor · 28/03/2008 10:55

As knitter can't get her photos to go on her profile I'll link this one from her facebook.
I'll leave the others for her to show you though, he is such a cutie!

Peachy · 28/03/2008 11:19

Knitter- he's gorgeous, all three of the boys were crowded around the PC ooohing over him

Denny, yes he'll help, he's good like that. he's been on 15 hour days for a bit but won't be for the weekend hopefully (nobody go buying from his ebay shop this weekend!! ). he's also installing alarms on ds1's bedroom so I don't have to check he's still thre on th4e very rare occasion I can get him through the door at all- it will sound if he tries to leave (eesential as he bit Stirling badly 2 nights ago).

Right, have to go take boys for a barbers trip- they look awful!

sagitta · 28/03/2008 11:26

Hello all,

Got back from our mammoth train journey from south of France last night. Both DD and I are pretty knackered today. I thought we'd been burgled, the place was in such a state when I got it - but it was just as I'd left it

Had to get four trains yesterday, took 14 hours. Everyone was really helpful - until I got home and taxi driver wouldn't help me. Where we live is really difficult to access - down a very steep slippery slope, and he said it was too difficult for him to help me. So I carried down sleeping DD plus luggage, back up with DD to get more luggage, back down, back up with DD to help taxi driver get back up the three steps he'd taken, and to pay him, then down again. Very very . If it was hard for him, how hard did he think it was for me?

Loads of babies now! Congrats! How exciting! DD arrived at 42 +1 (and I did all the stuff - pineapples, sex, curry, RL tea) last time, so fully expecting a lot longer to go.

Only another 4 days till DH gets back! Can't wait....

SuzeM · 28/03/2008 11:36

Scorpio, Millie's full name is gorgeous. I haven't heard of Jessamy before, it's very pretty.

Love Carolyn also, very classy.

I think Ailish is easy to pronounce, Molly. I was originally going to go for something like Líadan or Réiltín, which would have caused lots of pronounciation problems, I think. Did you see that thread about Irish names?

Knitter, George is a cutie.

Good luck to all those in labour!

VictorianSqualor · 28/03/2008 11:42

If we have a DD middle name will be Caroline, after DP's mum.

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 12:03
scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 12:24

I'm having lots of BH today, about 4 an hour, big strong ones. Hopefully they will push Millie's head down!

Suze - thanks about Millie's name. DH hates Jessamy but is letting me have it. I love it for a first name. Another variant of it is Jessamine.

moominsmummy · 28/03/2008 12:32

oooo so exciting - good luck TLSM and vacaloca

totally agree with other comments that Knitter's baby is gorgeous and am still stunned at how good TMP can look half an hour after giving birth - can guarentee won't be posting a photo of me that soon after!

am quite cross today - DH has bronchitis which turns out to be fungal and a Hib infection (bacterial) so he's on antibiotics as needs to be fit and well for his chemo in 4 weeks time. Problem is that I appear to be the carrier of the Hib bacteria - am not unwell just cough up stuff v occasionally and I had a full--on chest infection early in pregnancy and have obviously never shaken it off. so i got summoned to the GP yesterday so they can put me on antibiotics - so doctor prescribed me amoxicillin and just before taking it this morning I suddenly realised that it is penicillin which I am allergic to! FFS I could have had a really bad reaction and put baby in danger - OK so it was a bit dozy of me not to realise before but how can a GP prescribe it to me when I am heavily pg and my notes state that I am allergic to it?? V worrying. but now there's nothing else I can be prescribed.

sorry for the rant.
has anyone any suggestions for how I shift the infection without antibiotics? Don't want to keep reinfecting DH and jeopardise his treatment

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 12:36

Goodness, that sounds really terrible of your GP!

Hope you are all ok, and get better.

ToastAddict · 28/03/2008 12:57

Moomins - have you been back to your GP to see if there is an alternative? I can't find anything (quickly!) on the internet saying which antibiotics will cover Hib, but if amoxicillin would cover it, there is a fair chance that one of a group called cephalosporins would work, and only 10% of penicillin-allergic patients are allergic to this. Not a good time to find out now, obviously, but maybe you've had one in the past and were OK? Also, erythromycin is the antibiotic often used for chest infections in penicillin-allergic patients, and this is fine in pg too.

Sorry, rambled on a bit, basically, I think it's worth double checking with a GP that there is no alternative, in view of your husband's chemo

hth

VictorianSqualor · 28/03/2008 13:01

YAY DP passed his assessment centre!!
I can have a happy, non-nervous , focused DP again and he can STFU about it and concentrate on the baby

scorpio1 · 28/03/2008 13:03

Lol

Good, chuffed for you both.

(DH has just got alot of new work and is no longer bleating on about work worries - Thank God)
