New thread!!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
VictorianPASqualor · 25/03/2008 20:42

pip12 has never posted on MN before ever.
Newbie or someone trying to sell their wares?
I hope the first....

VictorianPASqualor · 25/03/2008 20:43

ooooh, x-post great minds MM

ThePFJ · 25/03/2008 20:45

Well considering our replies... I don't figure it's working!!!

If its not a ruse then do let us know Pip.
If it is.. then can I giggle for a while at the idea of any of us 'down to earth' april mums spending our hard earned cash on that rubbish please?

No offense.

chipmonkey · 25/03/2008 20:47

Does seem a bit like a free ad! Especially on an ante-natal thread where it is unlikely that we've gotten to the point where we would have used it. And who doesn't have a flabby tummy after birth?

ThePFJ · 25/03/2008 20:51

Yes exactly!

I intend to be so rushed off my feet and so happy about baby that my tummy will be furthest from my mind. Hopefully when I do decide to worry about it, all the exercise will have helped me lose those extra pounds?

That website says the Malayians secrete the mother away in her own hut or something for 6 weeks to recover physically and emotionally while everyone takes very special care of her.
Ha. I think they are trying to make us either envious or die laughing at the idea that would ever happen to us?!

hohum.

Scampmum · 25/03/2008 20:54

TA - thank you, someone finally asked after my oh-so-subtle fish...! Jesse Spencer aka Billy from Neighbours. Ah, what a lovely memory

SuzeM, do be careful. I would go to the GP tomorrow morning to get your BP taken.

VS - I assume you and DP know that prostaglandin is best absorbed through the stomach?! I mean, given that you really want to go into labour'n'all...

Pip12 looks trolltastic to me - that was my instant response. Let's throw rotten tomatoes (we're hormonal, it's allowed).

I am loving TMP's birth stats so far.

OOOH I've been doing optimal foetal positioning today (MNing on the floor on all fours instead of the sofa ) and for the FIRST TIME I can feel a back! SO exciting. What a good little baby. I think the spongy tummy is related to positioning as well - have never heard the hormone surge thing.

ThePFJ · 25/03/2008 20:54

You know what. I just made myself laugh til I almost peed.

We really are a little tribe of our own here on this thread arent we?

As soon as stranger comes on bearing new concept we all decide to club it to death!
-points at the different people/thing-
-says UG-

Sorry. -giggles-

ThePFJ · 25/03/2008 20:56

Awww Scampmum. We are loving your good little baby already! Lets hope baby stays there!

moominsmummy · 25/03/2008 20:58

think it's probably cheaper and easier to buy magic knickers anyway.....

I have exactly one month to go as of today and (sorry everyone) am feeling remarkably ok (except for heartburn) - over this weekend I helped assemble scaffolding, climbed scaffolding, cut hedge, carried DS around on my shoulders for 1/2 hour (not on the scaffolding clearly!), then decorated DS's bedroom and dug a new flower bed. Just try telling me I can't do it cos I'm pregnant - I won't be awake to hear - am knackered!

have eaten entire cherry madeira cake today though

ThePFJ · 25/03/2008 21:02

Moomin are you Wonderwoman???
Wow. Go Girl!

jenniejennie · 25/03/2008 21:04

I really really want to go and eat more easter egg from the kitchen but am aware that my hips and thighs have reached mammouth proportions - for me anyway. Im normally a pretty normal size but all the weight seems to be going to my hips, almost more than where the baby is!!! Need CHOCOLATE though! Help! My hips feel totally solid with fat, it really is getting unpleasant!!! Must go swimming......

SuzeM · 25/03/2008 21:05

ThePFJ, sounds like it won't be too long.

I haven't had any BH yet, at least, not that I've noticed! When are they supposed to start? I am 37 weeks now (where did that go?). I don't think there will be anything doing for me until well after my due date.

Scampum! He is gorgeous. I think my BP has rocketed now at the mere thought of him.

ThePFJ · 25/03/2008 21:06

Jennie. Just EAT THE CHOCOLATE.
How many times in your life do you intend to be pregnant????
Enjoy yourself.
Stress is bad for baby anyways.
No chocolate = stress.
Baby comes first.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 25/03/2008 21:09

No more chocolate for me Affects my heatburn apparently...

moominsmummy · 25/03/2008 21:09

Jennie/PFJ - there was a study published when I was expecting DS that said women who eat chocolate during pregnancy have happier and more contented babies - so you MUST eat chocolate.

am going to bed now - totally knackered! but before I go DH and I are still stuck on a boys name - is anyone else still struggling? can everyone please give one suggestion for a boys name? (can't start with an M as have too many M's in this house already!)

SuzeM · 25/03/2008 21:09

Jennie, eat the chocolate. I would if I had any to hand! Drinking chocolate is going to have to do at a pinch.

chipmonkey · 25/03/2008 21:11

Moominsmummy

SuzeM · 25/03/2008 21:12

I love Christian, Alex or Nicholas for a boy.

I thought we were agreed on the name but my dh admitted after a few drinks that he is not crazy about it, so it is back to the drawing board (or I spend the next 3-5 weeks convincing him.

jenniejennie · 25/03/2008 21:12

I have eaten HALF a large thorntons easter egg since i posted the last message and feel much much better now, thanks everyone! I agree it is good for baby otherwise it wouldnt be MAKING me eat it would it!!??

ThePFJ · 25/03/2008 21:12

Thanks Suze. Hope so.
I started getting BH around week 34/35. Some mums to be never get them. Some only get them in the very last weeks apparently.
My MW said at the antenatal class it doesn't make any difference if you get them or not though.
If your stomach ever goes really tight for a while, little a little barrel its a BH.

moominsmummy · 25/03/2008 21:13

chipm - PMSL - that is definitely me - I have such a tiny waist!!

ThePFJ · 25/03/2008 21:14

Moomin - How about Jonah or Nicky?
xxx

SuzeM · 25/03/2008 21:17

Ah, ok, I think the tight stomach has happened.

Oops, I just noticed I posted twice before. The broadband connection is very slow and I am very impatient.

TLSM · 25/03/2008 21:27

Gosh TMP that must be some record 2 hours between having something you thought could be contractions to having your baby Congrates! I wish that for the rest of you having a normal birth (not out the sunroof)
