disneystar - fantastic news, Samuel is a family name of ours too, lovely name.

isaidno · 29/03/2008 07:47

great news disneystar xx

sweetkitty · 29/03/2008 07:55

Morning everyone hope you all have a lovely Saturday, what is everyone up to?

Am I the only one who hasn't bought anything for the baby yet? Thinking I had better start next month as will start to get too big to traipse around the shops DDs in tow. Not that I need a lot anyway thankfully.

libralady · 29/03/2008 08:10

Morning SK

At least the sun is shining here for now. DH has to work today so will just be plodding around with DS. Will pop over to see my Nan in her care home later this morning. She will bee 100 in August so hoping she will be around to see this LO in July and of course make it to get her telegram from the Queen.
Happy Saturday to everyone.

EEC · 29/03/2008 08:53

Fab news Disney.

Morning all. Have done no shopping yet SK. Need to wait til I am back in UK. 1 week to go. I can't wait to get back and start nesting.

Have a great w/e all...

bebejones · 29/03/2008 09:32

Morning all! Feeling sick and miserable today, you would think the sickness might have gone by 22 weeks!!

Cant wait to start buying big stuff, have a few clothes and a moses basket. We both get paid monday so will be ordering nursery furniture....very exciting, we were hoping to get room sorted this weekend...means moving alot of stuff, including computer!! Think I might let DH do it and 'supervise'!!!

isaidno · 29/03/2008 09:40

SK - you are shockingly disorganised - nothing bought at all! You must have alot of will power!

I'm on number 3 too, but my nursery is practically finished, and I have bought lots of bits and pieces!

sweetkitty · 29/03/2008 10:56

isaidno - I know usually I am so organised as well saying that nursery is already done (as it's DD2's) have cot, moses basket, blankets etc, tonnes of pink clothes, 2 slings, baby swing, bouncer, changing mat, car seat, breast pump, breast pads, sanitary twoels, steriliser, bottle warmer erm probably more, actually only NEED (want) a new pram and some vests and sleepsuits.

With DD1 I think I had everything by about now half of it I never actually used, remember spending over £100 in Boots one day on essentials as it was BOGOF on baby toiletries, bought shampoo, wipes, baby wash, was pad things, cotton wool, never used most of it. This one will have nappies and wipes and be dunked in the bath before the DDs.

Even bought those mats for inside the changing mat incase it was too cold whilst changing (!) baby all of course coordinated.

oh the joys of your PFB.

Kaz1967 · 29/03/2008 11:16

Kitty no you are not the only one neither have I on the basis that I am trying to sell this place and anything I do buy will only have to be transported up to Lincs which would be plain daft. So unlikely to buy anything until ovr 30 weeks

RUMPEL · 29/03/2008 12:19

Hi All,

Just pooped in for a quickie before I start my 1st essay .

DISNEY - FANTASTIC news I am sooo happy for you You have enough to deal with without the Universe piling more crap on! let's hope this means luck is shining on you now

MINIPINK - I bought 2 adiri bottles but never used them. I have flat nipples so NUK were the best for me. apparently you are supposed to buy bottles /dummies that closely resemble your nipple shape - you must have pointy ones

EEC - love Eloise - reminds me of The Damned song and my happy youth

LIBRA - my first HUGE crush was for a guy called Gordon Alexander - so like your choice too!

TWINKLE - you must feel stuffed all the time and must be pretty hard to breathe? Our middle name is Thomas for a bluey - family tradition. Amy Grace is lovely too.

MINKUS - Love Summer, like Nina and Pippa. Laurel is nice too but makes me thik of being on your hunkers. Isla is nice but has bad associations form school for me. My parents have Highland cows and we tend to call them Gaelic names eg Isla, Jura, Freochy (Heathery), Arabella etc.
I like Jake, Clarke and Louis but we used to have 2 cockerels - 1 called Sebastian and 1 called Barnaby

I haven't bought a thing yet either - don't need much really just a double buggy and a sterliser, some bottle teats and dummies.

Haven't been near a shop for ages now.

Well must go try to engage academic brain

Minkus · 29/03/2008 14:43

I like Summer for a girl as everyone in mine and dh's families has a winter/early spring birthday- everyone inc. great grandparents born between November and March! So this one is really a novelty indeed.

Lol at the cockerels called Sebastian and Barnaby!

Robert is a family name of dh's, both fil dh and ds have it s middle name, so this one will be a Hugh Robert if a boy and xxx Roberta if a girl (still not 100% convincend on either Lily or Greta)

Afternoon,

Gosh, all this talk of baby names it's really hard to keep up, I will just say to everyone who's posted that there wasn't one name that I didn't like, (and I'm not just saying that) They are all so lovely! As will all our babies be!

Monkey24 posted on a thread about 2 weeks ago about her baby having to have a chest cavity put in as his lungs keep filling with water, even after drainage, but nothing since.... I really hope she's OK.

Its bloody misrable here, managed a trip to the butchers this morning and got p**d upon! lovely. DH is currently laying slabs in our garden so I feel really sorry for him! He's wet through!

I've had this awful chest too, and everytime I cough it feels like my under carriage is about to fall out! I have been keeping on top of my PF, and as yet haven't had any accidents, so fingers crossed!!!!

Sweetkitty I used the Mendula elecric pump too and thought it was fantastic, much better than the hand pump jobby that I tried before! It's all ready to use again for this LO!

pigleychez · 29/03/2008 18:49

evening all...

Hope everyones well.

Lovely names being suggested by everyone my sister is due end of May with a girl and has choosen Tiffany. No other littleones in the family on either side so plently of choice.

Disney- thats great news! Really happy for you!

bebejones- Sorry your still suffing with MS.

Ive been buying today- nothing nice for the nursery but white goods for the kitchen- Fridge, freezer and washerdryer.

Bubba choose a very akward place to lay earlier and it was really very uncomfortable and it was only after a few minutes of walking around the room that it moved. Again Bubba has been very active today. You can see my tummy moving around and going up and down which is really odd to watch!

25 weeks now which has gone really fast! Cant believe theres a due in Dec thread now.

BrownOwl18 · 29/03/2008 19:14

Hello all

I've been lurking around here for a while and thought I should really introduce myself. I had a few problems earlier in the pregnancy but everything seems to be fine now.

I'm due on 23rd July with no.3 and live in York.

I also haven't bought a thing for this baby yet - and I gave everything except the pram away after I had DD as my xDH had the snip!

libralady · 29/03/2008 20:04

Welcome BrownOwl18

You'll find us a chatty bunch discussing most things we wouldn't in RL.

There's a list further back, feel free to add yourself and other details if you so wish.
LLxx

JODIEhavingababy · 29/03/2008 20:18

Hello and welcome Brownowl, there is a list of names a few pages back, feel free to copy and paste all of your lovely details on to that... Glad everything is OK now and any grumbles, this is the place to come!!! BTW I love York, we nearly moved up there a few years back, but it never happened, but it's such a lovely place!

Disney I'm so sorry I forgot to say earlier, big congratulations and hugs coming your way, very, very pleased for you, you must be thrilled!

pigley I noticed that December thread too, it's very scary isn't it, I also noticed 1 or 2 birth announcements for the May thread! It's starting to hit home how soon it's all going to roll around.... I wonder who will be first????? I reckon Twinkle with her twins!

Kaz1967 · 29/03/2008 20:32

Welcome BrownOwl

libralady chatty us never what an accusation

JODIE I just hope this little one does not decide to be early because I am really not ready

pigleychez · 29/03/2008 20:40

Welcome brown owl... prepared to become addicted!

Was talking to a work colleague yesterday who was telling me someone she once knew had her baby son at 26 weeks and he weighed 1lb 8.
He was in special care for ages but is absoluelty fine now.
Crazy to think im only a week away from that! Poor little thing.

July will be here before we know it!

disneystar · 29/03/2008 21:30

thanks to all of you wishing me luck i guessed it worked
i remember when i first came on here last october/november and wanted to join the
due in july thread
due in december thread is here i didnt notice it,but certanly brings it more home doesnt it,
im feeling quite huge at times is anyone else getting this?
also when walking i very heavy feeling down below, pressure feeling i guess,i thought i was feeling this a bit to early so id thought id check with you guys, see how your feeling?
well its rained all day here 2 of my children got chicken pox now thats the last of them.
i am just so plain bored some evenings i wander around no idea what to with myself?
any suggestions (not sex)i just cant be bothered with it my poor dh has forgot what its for

EEC · 30/03/2008 08:01

BrownOwl18 - Hello and congrats. I'm on DC 3 here two after having given all our baby stuff away. Decided definitely no more as age gap too big, but then waited even longer and here we are!

Disney - I'm also really bored in the evenings. Problem is that by that time the only comfy position is to lie down on my side. My back hurts when I sit too long, and when I lie on my back. Not much you can do lying down! I find I'm going to bed much too early then am awake for hours in the night. (hence the 2am bowl of cereal last night!)

at baby at 26 weeks!

disneystar · 30/03/2008 08:36

EEC im glad its not just me then,i know im supposed to be doin kinds of exercises to coax the baby into the right position, but i find myself on sofa recliner up and i wonder why i have a backache......

sweetkitty · 30/03/2008 10:20

Morning everyone lost an hour already!

pigley - I was talking to someone who had her DD at 26 weeks 3 years ago, very scary I know, would rather go overdue.

brownowl - hello and welcome to MN

disneystar - I was knitting in the evenings but kind of gave it up now, MN is good and watching TV bouncing on gym ball. I agree this rain is horrendous, come on Spring!

This one is still lying tranverse suppose once you have had a couple theres more room for them, I think as long as they are head down by about 36 weeks they don't worry. DD2's head never engaged and it was only when I was 10cms and they broke my waters did she finally get into the right position, thats DD2 all over though does things when she wants.

Kaz1967 · 30/03/2008 13:34

Isn't it a bit early to worry about which direction the baby is lying? They normally move around quite a bit until much later don't they? This little one does tent do spend much time head down back to back and on my left because of where my placenta is but they do have a squirm around every so often hate it when they are transverse it is really quite unpleasant when they put what I think is a foot in my placenta

RUMPEL · 30/03/2008 15:16

Hi All,

Welcome BROWNOWL - are you a guide leader then?

Am fed up today My belly feels sooo tight and achey across the top (just below my boobs) think LO must be pushing up and lying across today - very uncomfy. I feel like I am running out of room already must be a nightmare for you TWINKLE. Am so glad my previous notion of really wanting twins never happened!

Managed to get some of my essay done but still loads to go - so dull. How are the other girlies in education getting on with their studies?

DISNEY - I am not bored in the evenings as I go to bed early and read. How can you be bored with all those children? Surely you must need a rest at night? It must a neverending cycle of cleaning, washing, ironing food prep for you. Unless of course you are in need of Kim and Aggies help ?

Bought my DH a day at Nick Nairn's cook school for our wedding anniversary last week. He has now decided to try something new every weekend so that he doesn't show himself up when he goes! he is fab at curries, thai ect but rubbish at more conventional things. So tonight I am having cajun chicken sizzlers on a hot platter and sticky chocolate cake - if it works out. Don't know if I'll have nay room though the way I feel today

We ordered my Xmas pressie last night - a greenhouse (couldn't afford it at Xmas) so it should be here this week. I love the garden and intend to grow lots of salad, tomatoes etc. As well as beautiful flowers. We moved here in July so it is a work in progress. haven't had much time either what with DD, Uni and being pg.

Have you all noticed how expensive food is now? Costs a bloody fortune just for basic stuff. Am thinking of all the tasty salad we can have in the summer and it won't cost a thing. I love salad and eat loads of it. I am rambling again - sorry!

Thanks for letting me know about MONKEY - was hoping everything was well for her. Poor soul.

Hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend.xxx

sweetkitty · 30/03/2008 22:35

Quiet in here tonight.

I love reading theres something lovely about getting all cosy in bed with a book (maybe I just enjoy the peace and quiet without the DDs jumping on top of me). I used to read whilst BFing as well, useful skill to have!

Rumpel - own salad veg sounds fab I am always thinking I should get some seeds for the DDs to plant but never get around to it, also I have a bad phobia about slugs and anything maggot like and slimy (not worms worms are OK) so digging around kind of freaks me out, I'm not too bad with gloves on but the thought of touching a slimy thing ergh!
