Libra1975 · 21/04/2008 17:01

SK hope you feel better soon You can't even have a hot toddy!

sweetkitty · 21/04/2008 17:27

Thanks Libra I have taken some paracetamol and have some fruit teas which I'll sip tonight the hot water should help a bit.

06/07/08 would be a fab birthday.

The HV asked me DD2 DOB today and I had to stop and think is anyone else stupid right now? I've started taking omega-3 as well it's supposed to be most beneficial 3rd trimester.

Evening all.
My what a lot to catch up on in just one day!

Verso- Thats fab news! Hope this one is a sticky one!

Gilly- Glad your session went well. Without sounding supid, what is hypnobirthing all about?

EEC- My you do sound busy!

Mcchesers- Everyone needs a rant every now and again!

Jodie- your DS looks like a little cutey

Twinkle- They obviously arent very nice people! Forget about them!

Rumpel - LOL at the nappies suggestion!

Libra- My DH keeps calling me a weeble as he says i wobble along! How Rude !

Sweetkitty- Hope your not coming down with something.

Babyontheway- I was born on the 5th of July which is exactly a week before my due date! You watch this one be a week early!

My friends DD was born last year on July 7th, so her birthdate is 07/07/07 which is pretty cool too.

Just been out to buy some more wool for my knitting. Made DH laugh as I was cooing over all the different types of baby wool. He said he never thought hed see the day i was getting excited over wool!

Mummywannabe · 21/04/2008 20:29

Twinkle - sounds horrible. poor you.

Libra - my DH told me i look like a sumo wrestler on sat, can i send him round to yours for some lessons!

Littleone been really low today and it hurts!!

isaidno · 21/04/2008 20:46

SK - I've just got over a terrible cough so you have my sympathies.
(Should also confess that every time I coughed a bit of pee did escape so more PFE's for me!)

Kaz1967 · 21/04/2008 22:00

JODIE it was great to be cooked for and not have to think about it an just get on with revision (exam done although I don't think I did as well as I could have but as long as I pass) hardly even saw daylight though Jo made me stop on the Friday she told me off and told me how pale was must admit I was shattered and had probably done too much.

twinkle I agree with the others it was them being unreasonable. London is bad enough at the best of times (not pregnant tired and emotional) I met friends in Brum on Saturday with me at the moment all over the place would not have even considered it had I not known the hotel we were going to and most of them as well. I only have one bundle of fun in my tummy you have 2. They should have been a little more understanding.

shortshafe · 21/04/2008 23:06

I can't keep up with you lot!!

JODIE - your ds looks adorable.

TWINKLE - you are so not being unreasonable, I was in London a couple of weeks ago and found it really tough going. Can't imagine how hard it must have been with twins on board, especially when you're a country bumpkin at heart - I'm in staffordshire and love the peak district! The people you were meeting should have been MUCH more considerate, don't worry about it.

ISAIDNO - lol at your bedtime incident!!!

EEC - we renovated when I was pregnant with dd, and I had dh with me the whole time, must be really hard on your own. Make sure you take it as easy as you can, if all else fails, plenty of choc biccies and other essential fats will help you get through it!

good luck VERSO, let us know how you get on.

sweetkitty · 22/04/2008 07:55

Morning ladies I don't know how you lot that are studying and writing essays do it, much respect to you I was in bed at 10 last night, I didn't even have the energy to have a shower.

When I was first pregnant with DD2 we had an absolute nightmare moving house and ended up staying in my Dads two room flat surrounded by boxes for 3 months, the hosue situation was so stressful we thought at one point we were going to have to be made bankrupt. Basically we sold our flat in London and at the the last possible minute the buyer fled the country but we had already committed to buying this house here and in Scotland the minute you make an offer it's legally binding so we had to pay daily penalities for every day we didn't complete. In the end we begged, stole and borrowed every penny we could and sold our flat at a really low price just so we could have this house. Talk about stressful, you don't realise it at the time but when you think about it later you think "bloody hell what a thing to go through" but we seem to get through it as theres nothing else to do.

Why do we all seem to do these stressful things when pregnant?

Anyway feeling a bit rough today bit chesty and sore throaty, have MW later so will have a good moan to her. I think this LO is doing cartwheels as her moving was actually hurting me last night.

Right off to get ready for nursery/toddlers.

Mummywannabe · 22/04/2008 09:41

Morning all

Sorry your feeling rough sweetkitty, its all seems so much harder when your pregnant doesn't it.

Has anyone else not got anything ready yet, i have a bouncy chair and a pram and thats it. Gonna go on a shopping spree saturday as starting to panic!

JODIEhavingababy · 22/04/2008 09:52

Morning all,

Thanks for all your lovely comment about DS, I do agree he is beautiful!

Sweetkitty - Sorry your feeling poorly, I too have had a really annoying cough for what seems ilike forever and I'm really frightened of peeing my pants, so far so good, but it does feel like my under carriage is going to fall out from under me!

Mummywannabe - I know what you mea, I've bought nothing (but then I don't really need much) but am so excited as my Mum flew in last night and we are going baby shopping today!! I can't wait!!!

disneystar · 22/04/2008 10:24

good morning all i just thought id pop by and see how you are all doing
im not really much better but just taking one day at a time is much easier than planning right now
i find out on thursday if this baby has the same genetic problem as the others i have had indications only but i guess i need to know for my own peace of mind
i have a growth scan booked for 4 weeks time which will make me 31 weeks as they already know baby is big and already talking to me about early induction
my diabetes is very uncontrolled and now taking big amounts of insulin twice a day bear in mind my babies are usually about 9lb 4 ish by 35 weeks
but my question is will it harm the baby is i refuse to be induced
i want to go into labour naturally i know the risks that he may get to 10 or 11 lb,
i was induced last time and found the whole experience horrible and invasive
i will be on my own during the birth.i think i will be so nervous to go in to be induced i wont be able to control my pain levels
consultant says if i go full term i risk having a section so why dont they just do that in the first place.
my husband thinks i am suffering from depression maybe hes right ,i dont know all i know i just want to be me again, and i so wanted to enjoy this pregnancy,
is anyone else gettin strong braxton hicks as well?
thanks to all of you whos send me good wishes and thoughts, it means a lot especialy now ,its not nice to be here alone with me and the kids not quite like i planned my life to be,but theres you go
i have an exciting shopping at tescos today with 2 of the boys,1 isnt at nursery today and alan-jay has his radiotherapy tomorrow so hes on his drugs today gettin ready for it.lets hope he dont throw up around the shop

isaidno · 22/04/2008 10:42

nice to hear from you disneystar. One day at a time sounds like a good idea.
Good luck on Thursday for your test results. xxx

twinkle1 · 22/04/2008 11:10

Disney,
Good to hear from you
to try and answer a few questions this is only based on the pectices at out trust but most places are the same ish
You can refuse to be induced.
You can ask for a planned c/section which would not be unreasonable given your situation.
If your consultant is not supportive you can change to a diferent one.
Yes i get lots and lots of braton hicks maybe thats cos im having twins and you have a big baby in there???
I have had 2 planned c/sections both were calm affairs and i was relatively pain free after.I only stayed in for 2 days.

Sending you hugs
twinkle

Peanut73 · 22/04/2008 11:48

Hello everyone! I am 29 weeks today and my ankles have disappeared! They are so swollen and are starting to throb. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Peanut

sweetkitty · 22/04/2008 11:57

disneystar - good to hear from you, I don't know what to suggest really I am worried about a 10lb baby at home as well but women deliver 10+lb babies all the time. I think you need to have a long think about what YOU would like to do. No BHs here yet either.

babyontheway · 22/04/2008 12:15

Hi Disneystar!
Good to see you back. Dont panic about having a c section if it comes to that. I had one with DS and they are not as bad as everyone makes out. I was terrified going in there and insisted on being unconcious as I was sure I was going to totally freak out as I was also alone. I was out within 3 days and totally able within about a week. some people may take longer to recover but you sound like quite a tough cookie!

-mummywannabe I so know what you mean I have only got a couple of baby grows at the moment and starting to panic. Get paid on Friday so will be doing a mass order on mothercare online!

Hope the rest of you are all OK!

TJuice · 22/04/2008 12:17

hi disney - good luck for thursday. thoughts with you.

the weather here is pukka at the moment. the best of scandinavia - bright, unpolluted blue skies - still a little nippy when on the bike but Copenhagen is such a different place when its like this and not all dark and gloomy.

after the long weekend (friday was a holiday here) all my co-workers came back looking tanned and healthy. was a bit jealous as i have a problem with melasma/choasma from the pill and i can see that i am getting a bit patchy on my cheeks from the pregnancy. maternity leave in june is going to be hard avoiding the sun.

not too sure about the chiropractor thing - i swear i feel more aches now and have been getting a sore pelvis after a day of walking or biking around. i am definitely in the uncomfortable zone of pregnancy. yesterday, i felt like an overripe melon on legs - about to burst. sometimes i get all hot and bothered and have to remind myself to breathe deeply - anyone else know what i mean?

anyway, whinge over - hope you are having good days.

sk - that sounds like a complete mare! we were lucky that we moved flat between the mc last summer and the bfp in october . We were living on the 4th floor above a nightclub, so i think we made a really good move!

jodie - stunning kiddy!

twinkle - hope you recovered from your vile day.

disneystar · 22/04/2008 12:19

twinkle is it any different having 2 babies there i mean i get tired with just the one and the kickin all the time cant imagine 2 of them doing it
also about the induction when i normally go into labour my body knows what to do and so do i like slow pains building up allowing myself to get used to them and lots of walking around till the end
last time they put me on the bed and i was in labour 30 hours was a nightmare no pain relief except gas and air
the longest labour i have had naturally is approx 8 hours from start to finish
that i can do 10+ or not
well i suppose he,s got to come out
im going to book my 4d scan for next weekend i saw on of the babies pics on this thread yesterday could of been minpink??
awww it was beautifull made me cry i think i lose focus on whats actually happening in there and there is a little baby nearly grown with his own personality,i guess its easy to lose sight when theres so much else going on around you

Libra1975 · 22/04/2008 15:41

SK - lol at the non-shower, this is probably TMI but my daily shower has been moved to every other day - it just seems like too much EFFORT (and I love showers!)

Pigley, how odd, I was walking yesterday when I thought I must text DH and tell him I have started walking like a weeble.

Mummywannabe, to be honest I think he is just so impressed with my new breasts that he doesn't see the rest.

Kaz where you find the brain power/energy to do an exam I just don't know. My fingers are crossed for your result.

Ds glad to see you are still around, it sounds like you and the consultant don't really see eye to eye, would it be worth seeing if you could change him, you don't want the additional worry of being induced when you have so much on your plate already.

No BH here either and cross fingers they continue to elude me.

I haven't really bought anything for LO yet apart from a pack of 5 babygros from Tesco which have dinosaurs on (very gender non-specific ) but having kept a beady eye on freecycle got a car seat (no accident) and a baby bouncer, plus have borrowed a moses basket and a baby gym from a friend. We know which buggy we are getting just need to get around to buying it. I am taking the "little babies don't need much" philosphy to heart! Even tho with a father 6'5", 18 stone and a mother of 5'10, 11 stone (pre-preg!!!) I am not sure how little this baby is going to be!

Has anyone started (or finished!) packing their hospital bag yet? I haven't even started thinking about what to put in it!

EEC · 22/04/2008 15:50

Good to hear from you Disney. We are all thinking of you. I hope you find some good support from somewhere. Do you have any friends that can come and stay for a few days?

Loads of strong braxton hicks here - definitely more when i'm rushing about and stressed.

Had a physio appointment today with a lovely physio. I came home with a tubi belt thingy. Hope it helps. I really must try and do the excersises she gave me as I can hardly walk by the end of the day.

Sunn's out at last. What a differnce it makes. I'm a bit worried about the sun too Tjuice as last time I got terrible chloasma on my cheeks,. Nothing yet this time.

Belly buton is nearly out. Anyone else?

isaidno · 22/04/2008 16:54

EEC - belly button out here! Also had loads of BH for ages, escpecially when rushing about / walking etc.

I spent over an hour putting the cot tpgether this pm. It was a PITA, but I wanted it done so I wasn't hunting for screws in July! And so I can order mattress, air it, make the nursery look pretty etc etc1
