Thread title reflects the fact that every day that passes it dawns on me a bit more

Fantastic news VERSO.

Another one on here for a big moan. Just soo exhausted and not feeling able to cope with everything that is piling up. No time to spend on mn, which has been my lifeline, and really missing it. The house is still in real turmoil. No proper kitchen. (trying to feed a family with no cooker is not easy, and it?s not arriving til 13th May!) Rooms half decorated, boxes and dust everywhere. Haven?t started sorting out baby stuff, so still have no idea what we need. Baby?s room has no floor, there is rubble in the old fireplace and plaster coming off the walls, as well as dismantled furniture and boxes in it. I keep telling myself that I still have ages to go, but everything is so much effort and I am really uncomfy by half way through the day ? I can hardly walk. Not giving DCs any attention ? feel like terrible mum. FIL coming tonight and haven?t got any clean sheets for him, or food in the house, and DH is off to France for the week tomorrow... I will have to cope with builders on my own. (silver lining ? I can eat what I want when I want without feeling embarrassed!) Would so love to be able to have a drink or 4 at the end of the day!

LOL at the thought of sexy underwear. I feel like a complete sight at the moment, and sex drive completely disappeared.
I know I have no real problems, and sorry for moaning. Thinking of Disney star, and how hard things must be for you, and my heart goes out to you.

Thanks for noticing my absence JODIE. It makes a huge difference!

Have just eaten 4 chocolate biscuits and a jam sandwich.

Talking about copious amaounts of discharge ? how can you tell the difference between that and waters leaking? I keep feeling worried that I have been doing too much and have somehow ruptured myself. Lots of very strong BH as well.

Sorry about huge me post.

gillythekid · 21/04/2008 10:53

I wish I had the space to make stuff! I haven't donned my dungarees since I lost my job last summer, well it burned down actually (was working on the Cutty Sark conservation project) There are soooo many things I could be producing but we live in a one bedroom maisonette with no outside space so it's just frustrating really! Growing a baba is my occupation for now.

mcchesers · 21/04/2008 10:59

Hooray Verso, good luck hon!

Sorry I've been off the radar trying to get this flat in good nick. I had a short episode of feeling low, but back on top today.

I have to have a chat with the midwife at the clinic about the anxiety today..not really looking forward to it. I can attribute some of it to talking to my mother in law. She's insane with worry and she needs a good slap. "Is it kicking? as long as it's still kicking..because when it stops you know.." and of course "I hope I hope you are sitting with your feet up today"
WTF is this 1950? Who's going to do the laundry and sort the mail and go out and but loo roll? The friggin' prego fairy? She's terrified that I will fall or get knocked down by a car. It used to frighten me then I realized..that it's a bunch of bullshit.

We have to get on with our lives and sitting around is definitely not good for the fetus. I do what I can and if it hurts or I get dizzy, I stop. I'm 32 years old FFS. I've had enough of having my family slagged off because they "cannot be bothered" to come and visit me. Hello, the US is in a recession and with such a large family no one can afford the $1200.00 per person that it costs to come over, nor can they sacrifice half of their holiday time in the middle of summer when their own kids are out of school.

I am so geared up to have this baby with my husband..alone..without interfering family. She's not going to be coming over with her surgery so she needs to lay off. Grr.

Sorry rant over all better..going to the clinic. back in a flash.

JODIEhavingababy · 21/04/2008 11:14

Hi EEC!! (waves) Glad to see you back, but I don't envy you! It's enough for me to get to Tescos!! I keep worrying abut dicharge too, but after a long chat on here I think it does get heavier the further along we get, also, when your water breaks apparantly it doesn't smell (TMI?) My BH have been really strong this weekend, and getting quite uncomfortable too!

Verso, I forgot to say congratulations! I'll keep everything crossed for you and keep us posted on your developments!

Mcchesers - Don't feel too bad, my mum keeps stressing more than I do and planting 'seeds' in my head! Just get on with it he best you can! (and ask her for some help if she's that bothered!)

For any one who's interested, I've put some photo's on my profile page, need to get a bump one sorted, but will do so when DH is back from work....

twinkle1 · 21/04/2008 11:42

morning all,
Hope everyone is well
I need some advice......
On Sat me and a friend went to meet up with some girls off another thread who we have been talking to for a couple of years now. They all live in and around london,we both live up North.I set off at 9am on the journey to london, they had told us to meet them in a park and knew what time we would be arriving.By the time we got into london and took a taxi there we were bang on time.By now i was knackered (they know im pregnant with twins) It was freexing cold, no indoor areas just outside cafe. They were not there and the mobile number we had just said un available!!!! we waited from 2.15 till just after three then decided we had better do something so went and found a hotel as we had knowhere else to stay.they then started phoning /texting us saying they were there!!!!! we suggested meeting up the next day and going for coffee etc. They are now been horrible about us.I feel really upset and hurt.We traveled all that way.am i been unreasonable??????? They have given various excuses for been late wrong mobile numbers, stuck in tubes etc But if they were coming up here i would have made sure i was there early waiting for them??????
twinkle

JODIEhavingababy · 21/04/2008 11:47

Oh Twinkle, how horrible! YANBU, are they saying that you didn't turn up then? How horrible when something turns sour! Did you meet up with them in the end? they should have called you to say they were going to be late!

twinkle1 · 21/04/2008 12:05

Thanks Jodie,
No we did not meet up with them. When we were in the hotel we texted them lots and asked them to meet up on the sunday, they have said we should have gone to various places to wait for them where they were other cafes etc.But we had no idea where these places were I have only been to london 3 times in my life!!! to be honest its quite intimadating when your that pregnant. I feel its as if how would they feel if i dumped them in the middle of the peak district where i live????? and was uncontactable????
twinkle

isaidno · 21/04/2008 12:09

twinkle yanbu! poor you!

Jodie - your ds is very cute!

mcchesers - that was some rant - you're scaring me!!

EEC - It all sounds terrible; hope you get sorted soon xx

JODIEhavingababy · 21/04/2008 12:09

Oh Twinkle... Did you do anything nice while you were down there anyway? I do like a trip down to London!

I didn't realise you were in The Peak Distict, it's where DH and I spend most of our weekends (well DH on his own now as my walking gear doesn't fit, andthere is no way i can go on a 5 hour hike without using the toilet!) Where abouts are you????

twinkle1 · 21/04/2008 12:11

Jodie,
We live in Hadfield its between woodhead and snake pass.Very beautiful, its lovely and quiet and he kids just love it.

twinkle1 · 21/04/2008 12:13

Jodie,
Where do you live????
Twinkle

JODIEhavingababy · 21/04/2008 12:21

That's abit more North than where we venture. I live near Lichfield, so I'm only about 35 mins from Ashbourne, we usually go to Castleton, Hartington, Tideswell, that way! It's so beautiful up there DH wants to move, but I think it would be too quiet for him!

twinkle1 · 21/04/2008 12:27

Yeah can be very quiet up here we have no supermarket or banks everything is a drive to access it.On the plus side Its great for walking, cycling etc and i like living in a quiet village we have a lovely little village school so the kids think its great
twinkle

JODIEhavingababy · 21/04/2008 12:54

I love where we live, It's a short drive to supermarket and banks, but rural enough to be able to have nice walks and see farm life, and we live on a Canal and a river, so plenty of wildlife. We also have a lovely butchers and a co-op in the village which is handy!!!!

babyontheway · 21/04/2008 13:19

Hi All!
Hope you all OK?
-Twinkle1 so sorry you had such a rubbish time in London. Some people just forget how hard it can be to travel long distances when your pregnant especially with twins!

-EEC I had a day like that last week everything that could go wrong did go wrong! Don't worry you do still have time and it will all come together in the end.

As for me am having a much better week this week. Have new car so will travel. Old car is not a total write off so may get some cash from that. Managed to buy some baby stuff at the weekend so it feels like I have made a start. Am also going to get cot and bits delivered this weekend so am really looking forward to that.

Totally jealous of everyone who has had a 4d scan I would love to see what LO looks like before she gets here. Hope they all go well for you.

RUMPEL · 21/04/2008 13:52

Hi All,

EEC - sounds lika nightmare for you just now!! My sympathies.

Mcchesers - bet you feel better now you've got that off of your chest

GILLY - you should rent a wee palce when baby is old enough and make some lovely furniture and sell it on the internet - I take it you can furniture make too if you are a carpenter or is it too different?

TWINKLE - I think they are being very unreasonable. You are pg with twins and made the effort to go there, sat in the cold - they should have more empathy. Who cares if they are being horrible - let them get on with it and concentrate on 'real' friends and people who actually matter. They have each other and you don't need that kind of influcence in your life. I hate it when people let you down.

PIGLEY - relief!

I second the discharge thing - it is much worse this time for me than with DD. I awaken in the night somtimes with it and think my waters are leaking but it is just wet down there! Horrible. Are any of you totally unable to hold in your pee now? I had a bath yesterday (first one since October as I always go off them when early pg) and was needing a pee - struggling to get dressed and some came out[ blush] I am doing my PFEs but am now worrying about driving to SECC next weekend in case I need the loo urgently. Suppose I'll just need to use one of DDs nappies if it get too bad - stuff it down my breeks - tee hee!

I am absolutely knackered at the moment - sooo tired just now. My essay is due in next week and I just don't have the energy to do it.

Hope you are all well.
xxx

RUMPEL · 21/04/2008 13:53

VERSO - I remember you too - great news and good luck - fingers crossed all goes well this timexx

sweetkitty · 21/04/2008 14:01

oh you lot have been chatty today. Well woke up and have a sore throat and cough hope it's not going to be a chest infection I'm prone to them. Pelvis just it's usual annoying self. Agree about the discharge thing it's terrible isn't. When my waters went with DD1 it was like a constant trickle as if you were peeing a little but all the time. Waters are clear and don't smell of pee.

Have added a photo of me at 40 weeks to scare all you first timers and one of newborn DD2 at about 2 hours so forgive the train wreck look of me. Can't find her 4D scan pic on the pc she really does look like it just a bit fatter.

pigley - glad you got some reassurance as someone else said the baby is the ultimate parasite and if you were dehydrated they would get all available liquid anyway. I think you would have to be really dehydrated to the point you would feel very thirsty yourself. Always good to drink more though I'm the same I don't drink enough water although when I do you have to go to the toilet even more.

kaz - hello and welcome back

EEC - I had noticed you weren't about but thought you were busy with all the DIY etc I'm not surprised you are stressed with all that going on you poor thing. I actually make myself sit down for a bit and MN as it's the only time I actually get to sit down during the day.

gilly - a carpenter sounds fab

mcchesers - you rant away, I could join you as my Mum phoned this morning for the first time in 2 weeks so I had to put up with her telling me my Granpa is dying (again he probably isn't will phone my Dad for proper update later), this week she is dying from some skin condition caused by nerves and she is having more tests as the hospital weren't happy with her last set (she thought she had cervical cancer as Google had told her). Honestly there is always something wrong with her, I don't give her any sympathy anyway I don't know why she tells me all these woes. All she asked me was how "stout" I was getting (haven't seen her since January. Sorry am ranting myself now

Twinkle - YANBU that sounds terrible they could of at least phoned you. Don't think I would be meeting them again in a hurry.

Right am off I'm waffling again I can smell DD2 from here and my biggest baby is having her MMR booster today my poor baby.

sweetkitty · 21/04/2008 14:02

hello Rumpel sorry X-posts mine was SOOOOOOOOOOOO long

mcchesers · 21/04/2008 15:11

ok back from the clinic..all blood tests are fine. The urine has a plus on glucose, so better lay off the sweets for the time being or else she says or if it comes up again, I'll have to go back for the GTT (not nice). She's such a nice lady this midwife and she works her arse off. She made me an appt with my GP to talk about my ever escalating moods which could be related to the glucose levels.

Feel better after eating..sorry to go off and yes that felt much better ahhh.

SK- At least we know we will NEVET be like these women, right? Hold your head up girl you are doing a fabulous job! Last time we spoke MIL told me about how little she weighed with my husband, and how quickly she lost what little she did gain. I'm rockin 13 stone over here and could give a rat's arse how much I lose. I'm healthy now, and I'll be healthy then and so will the babe..but I haven't been 10 stone since I moved here 5 years ago.

Twinkle- I'm really sorry about your rubbish weekend in London. If you had come to Glasgow, we'd have shown you a great time hon!!

The best piece of advice that my MW gave me was to get out and go to the cinema, the theatre..keep busy so that you don't get self obsessed and start worrying.

ok I'll stop hogging the board now and take a nap.

twinkle1 · 21/04/2008 15:20

Thanks Mcchesers,
North sounds good to me I feel at home here, mind you the peak district is south for me.Only been here for 3 years im from the north east and think at heart i always will be
Twinkle

Libra1975 · 21/04/2008 15:46

EEC you have a lot on your plate, any chance your FIL could bring his own clean sheets and a ready made casserole?

The descriptions of where you live Jodiehavingababy and twinkle are lovely, I am definitely wanting to bring mine up in the great outdoors and hopefully we will be heading south(er) by the time they are ready to run about outdoors. Maybe even Aus/NZ for a couple of years but that probably needs discussion with the DH!

Mcchesers very jealous about your mid-afternoon nap. I am sitting here absolutely sweating (TMI!) in my office not sure if it's pregnancy or just very hot today am fantasising about strawberry and cream frapaccinos are the moment.

My mum keeps telling me she was in her normal work clothes until 8 months which is slightly annoying, luckily I have an amazing DH who tells me how beautiful I am even when I am pointing out my cellulite to him. However he does say it's only because I am carrying his first-born and as soon as the job has been done he is burying me under the patio. (Also to be fair my mum is great in all other ways)

sweetkitty · 21/04/2008 16:42

Oh great now have a husky voice plus chesty cough and of course coughing is not good as more often than not I pee myself.

Oh I love this pregnancy lark

SK passes about the Tena Lady

Pavlovthecat · 21/04/2008 16:46
