TJuice · 15/04/2008 18:51

hey EEC - well done for getting back. does sound like you are doing a lot - moving while pregnant - got to be a bit of a 'mare. i know how i am when i move - can't stop pottering about unpacking until its done. try and take it easy though if you can.

gilly - i so hear you! i hate the weight comment free-for-all of pregnancy. even jokes about weight get on my nerves (all the young blokes in my office crack jokes like "don't you think you should skip lunch today" or "make sure you eat for two" or pulling me aside to say "not sure if you've noticed, but you have gained quite a bit of weight recently". ha, bloody, ha, fools.
women keep saying that i'm small which then makes me paranoid, so i just (mentally) put my fingers in my ear and go "la, la, la!"

i am also booking a wax this week, so i can finally go swimming. am nervous as last time i had it done while pregnant, I went totally blue and bruised. but then she was a witch who waxed me to within an inch of my life and made me hold my legs behind my head (I was only 8 weeks).

i just came back from pregnancy yoga in english, which was really chilled and i got to see some other expat mums-to-be. and i worked out at the gym yesterday, so its safe to say that i can now relax and feel smug for a week or two . . .

Minkus · 15/04/2008 19:05

Hey cupcake welcome to the wonderful world of the July antenatal thread!

SK so sorry if I put you off you pink pram- didn't mean to! A distinct advantage of having a very pink pram is that folks are unlikely to say "what beautiful little boys" . Yes my undercarriage is feeling ready to fall out too, it's quite swollen - nice big pants seem to do the trick though and keep it from flapping in the wind

lol gilly about muff problems! Such a great word And tell the insensitive old buggers commenting about weight to sod off, how rude! People must think women lose all feelings/ sense of personal space when pg- had two random colleagues at work today touch the bump, didn't happen with ds (but then didn't show until about 28 weeks at all then, and have had a bump now for quite some time) it's incredibly rude.

Butterfly McQueen have you name changed? Who were you before?! DO we KNOW you or are you an imposter ?

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 15/04/2008 19:32

No minkus I think it's my pregnancy brain in my heart of hearts I know a bright pink pram isn't that great.

EEC - welcome home, whereabouts is home and why have you been in France and are now coming home? (sorry being very nosy but I love France you have probably told us somewhere else). I have loads of discharge as well, sometimes I think I have wet myself, sometimes I have wet myself but thats another story

pigley - list looks fab thanks there are so mnay of us I wonder who will "pop" first? Swimming is quite relaxing in pregnancy I can't do it as it's hurts the rubbish pelvis and when I go with the DDs I stay in the one foot of water small pool freezing and showing off my fat thighs.

JODIEhavingababy · 15/04/2008 19:57

Hey all, and welcome cupcakes..

SK I've seen your pictures and you so haven't got fat thighs!

EEC Welcome back, hope everything is well, and don't forget, don't run around like a fool, we still have 3 months to go, take it easy! (And I have a lot of discharge too, it's not pleasant!

Anyone know where Twinkle is? haven't heard from her for a while or did I miss something?

Pigley - thanks for updating list , I can't believe there is so many of us!

Disney, I keep meaning to ask, how's your diabetes going? Are you managing to keep it under control?

Anyone else I've forgotten, sorry! A bit of a rush tocatch up, DH just got in with chips, yum!

PS - I shave my 'bush' blind! Seems to do the trick!

pigleychez · 15/04/2008 20:18

Hi everyone,

Hope everyones well today

Had a moment today when i thought baby was on its way out! Sat out in the garden on a low wall and as I crouched down to sit i felt like a pop and had a feeling as if babys head was half out already! Felt like sitting down had popped baby back in! Very odd! I always was abit freaky!

All this talk of waxing has made feel like a long soak and a de-fuzz tonight. Downstairs hasnt been done for quite a while and is becoming abit jungle like!

Agree with people about the increase in discharge. Def more noticeable lately.

Had lots of kicks and pressure (think baby stretches out, pushing its feet out against the uterus). Been feeling it right at the top of my bump, takes my breath away and have to stop for a sec. This scares the life out of my work colleagues who look pertified that baby on its way NOW!

In exactly one month i will have officially left work!

pigleychez · 15/04/2008 20:24

Just added a current pic of me and bump onto my profile page if anyone wants to compare bumps

JODIEhavingababy · 15/04/2008 20:35

Wow Pigley, your coming along nicely! that must have been a wierd feeling you had today, I can't quiet imagine it!

Minkus · 15/04/2008 20:41

Ah pigley that is a beautiful bump- it's a really nice shape!

I'm not so sure why I'm worried about the state of my pubes, I only normally bother about them if dh and I are planning a big night in or if I'm going swimming (which is rare). Maybe nesting this time round will take the form of personal grooming! DH will be pleased as they are offensively ginger in his opinion and they are so red he has called it the Burning Bush in the past tee hee

Minkus · 15/04/2008 20:45

I've been getting ots of stretching feelings too along both sides and down low on the bump- went back to work yesterday though and I think that wearing heels and walking a fair bit in them (big office, loos down big flight of stairs grrr) is making me use parts of my body I'd forgotten about. Hips agony too- the office chairs are normally really comfy but I am creaking along and walking like a waddling duck until I get home, they just don't seem to suit a pregnant Minkus!

mummypig · 15/04/2008 21:06

hi everyone. Dp away on a work do tonight but I have promised myself I am going to be good and do some Pilates and have a bath and not spend all evening on the internet .

Hello to cupcake, hope you enjoy the conversations in this group.

Gilly, I also hate that people feel they have the right to make comments when you're pregnant that they wouldn't do otherwise. My next-door neighbour's mum was the first one to make a comment about how big my bump was and I virtually jumped down her throat (then felt terribly guilty). It's crazy because most people, even if they have been pregnant themselves, once, have no idea how big I should be at each stage. Also it's probably more to do with what I'm wearing on the day whether my bump looks big or not.

I'm more annoyed, however, with my next door neighbour on the other side whose stock phrase relating to my pregnancy seems to be 'never mind' as if it's all a terrible mistake but I'll get through it somehow. (She said 'never mind' when she found out I was pregnant, and the same when she found out we were expecting another boy, despite my protestations that really, honestly, I didn't mind and was looking forward to ds3.)

I had my legs and bikini line waxed about two weeks ago but have been very bad at exfolating since and now I'm terribly itchy. I find that during pregnancy my leg hairs seem to grow slower but my pubic hairs seem to grow at a terrifying rate (especially on my belly ). I'm not up to a Brazilian but I might have to do a bit of snipping down there to tidy them up.

ButterflyMcQueen · 15/04/2008 21:18

Hi all and welcome back to long time no see ers

Butterfly McQueen

Is an actress famous for her role in Gone witht the Wind when she pretends to be midwife par excellence but when it comes to the crunch screams 'I don't know nothin out birtin babies!'

Just such a fab lady by all accounts and great name - i will see how she goes! ( Paula btw!)

Minkus · 15/04/2008 21:30

Hi Paula! It's you! Like the new name

Forgot to say earlier, worked out my maternity leave and if all goes according to plan I will have my last day in the office on 19th May, then be on leave for a few weeks (I can't carry it over until next financial year so will have to take it now, how awful ). Formal mat leave starts on 9th June, I'll be 36 weeks. As i don't work Fridays there are only 19 days left to go! YIPPEE!

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 15/04/2008 21:39

pigley - that is a cute bump and you look really glowng will have to get DP to do a 28 week pic of mine (been a bit lax with this pregnancy)

paula - hadn't a clue who you were but thought you were a regular who ahd namechanged

mummypig - just tell your neighbour you are swapping babies with a woman you met on the internet who is having her third girl, say it with a really straight face too that will sort her.

DP and I have just been trying to sort out his holidays, right I'm due the 10th he has w/c 14th and 21st off as annual leave already, he says he will get his 2 weeks paternity leave anyway if I go early but if I go late he wnts to be around to help out, it's all too confusing. The latest I could go is the 24th, DP's birthday is the 14th, DD1's the 20th so got those two dates to aim for. If I did go late he could be in effect off work for 3 1/2 weeks. I really do not have a clue when I will go having one 15 days early and one 12 days late, have told him 2 weeks either side of due date. MWs will only cover a homebirth 39-42 weeks though.

pigleychez · 15/04/2008 21:58

Having a bit of a nightmare here tonight!

Currently looking after our friends Hamster. Little got out of the ball it was in and has found its way down a hole in the kitchen floor. Poor DH has taken the kitchen apart and sawn up some floor trying to reach the thing!
We can hear him and see him just cant reach him!
If/when we get it out its never coming out its cage again!!!!

mummypig · 15/04/2008 22:12

oh no pigley sounds awful. I must remember never to agree to look after any small animals for friends. There are holes all over our house.

sweetkitty I love that idea but not sure I could keep pokerfaced while telling her.

oops... have you noticed I didn't do my Pilates after all? Off for a bath and bed now though. Sleep well, everyone.

pigleychez · 15/04/2008 22:29

Panic over...
After ages of seeing him in this tiny hole but not quite managing to reach him. I had a go and having smaller arms managed to get him to just the right spot so i could grab him! Thing was wriggling like crazy, trying to jump. DH took him off me and chucked it back in its cage!
Now its time to replace the laminate flooring, kitchen cupboards and Appliances.

Nightmare evening!

Cant even look after a hamster! - what on earth are we going to be like with a baby!

isaidno · 16/04/2008 07:18

good bump pigley!

Gilly - it's really p*ssing me off that people keep commenting on my size. But the thing is no one seems able to agree. Half say "ooh you're big" and then some say "what a neat little bump." So I can't win - is it big or small? [hmmm]

sweetkitty · 16/04/2008 07:24

pigley - what a funny story I do think you are less likely to lose a baby though they don't move for a while once they are born.

isaidno - as long as your DS is the size he should be ignore the bump comments

DD2 has been up since 6.30am argh!!!! They don't go bed until 8pm so are usually up 7.30am which suits me fine but 6.30am I'm shattered and so will she be later on. DD1 still asleep bless her.

JudgeJudyAndExecutioner · 16/04/2008 08:42
