Morning everyone!

-blush at Ellie- Hehehe, glad you liked the pic.
Sympathy hugs and mini eggs for all you feeling sick/having distended belly buttons/no car insurance and sick relatives.
I want a mcdonalds bacon and egg mcmuffin now!

Me and DP spent all last evening assembling some new bunk beds in the babys/spare room so my mum could have a proper bed to sleep in. DP did so well, I was really proud of him!

I have relatives coming over today with their kids as the school roof has apparently blown off! I expect they will be cooing over my bump and such.

I really ought to get motivated, they'll be here in an hour!

ThePFJ · 14/03/2008 10:57

Hehehe Ellie.. -passes you a baseball bat-

EllieG · 14/03/2008 11:06

Mmmmm boss has just bought in a big packet of terry's chocolate orange bite things, so good....[sounds muffled with face full o' chocolate]

EllieG · 14/03/2008 11:07

I have to eat them see, helps me not get stretch marks.

Carey87 · 14/03/2008 11:08

it took my dp almost 4 hours to put a roller blind up on sunday, so yes, i am very proud for you too PFJ!

ellie - my dp sister in law has the tiniest bump that is all neat and tidy and she hasnt put weight on anywhere, and you could always see baby movements, and I was v v v jealous, until she showed me her stretchmarks!!! Yikes!!! they look as if they really hurt!! personally I think its better to have 'a little bit extra' in the long run.

sagitta - big hugs and lots of tea your way!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 14/03/2008 11:15

I have an innie as well - although it is now really taking strain! No stretchmarks yet - but then as Carey said, I think its cos I had "a little extra" anyway! A friend of mine had stretchmarks so bad that it looked as though she had been slashed across the belly - really long, red and deep ones - scary!

northeastmummy · 14/03/2008 11:37

Sagitta - I feel for you! DD1 is at home today but she's been so upset when I drop her off lately. I'm so glad I only have a week at work left and I don't have to throw her into nursery and run out the door. She made me cry this week she was so upset.

I have an innie and I think it's because it nestles in my pre-preg podge. It didn't pop out with DD1 either. I hadn't heard that about the way your cord was tied - I like that theory better .

Elleeeeeee ... I found you on facebook but no-one else. Maybe if you add me as your friend (no rush - I know you can't get into FB at work), I'll be able to find the others that way.

PortAndLemon · 14/03/2008 11:38

I thought I had a really freaky horizontal stretchmark yesterday after my bath until I realised that it was the imprint of my jeans waistband...

EllieG · 14/03/2008 11:48

EllieG · 14/03/2008 11:49

Oh yes calomine lotion fine, MW said so and doctor

SuzeM · 14/03/2008 11:51

Hi all, how are you doing?

Scorpio, sorry to hear about your grandmother.

I have an outie now too, I don?t like it and it shows through pale tops so I wear the bella band to hide it. I haven?t noticed any stretch marks yet, I put on weight slowly but steadily (26 lbs so far) so I think that helped. My friend gave me a great balm that she sells at her beauty salon in Dublin; there is geranium oil in it, which she tells me improves skin elasticity. Of course the stretch marks may all appear yet.

I am not looking forward to losing the weight after but I suppose I'll be too busy to care much at first. I can't wait to get back in my real clothes so plan to walk and walk.

Molly, I am still here! I have two more weeks at work and have loads to do before I finish, I want to leave on a good note as the company I am working for now said they will keep me in mind for some editing work from home on a contract basis, which would be perfect. I don?t feel too tired so I can handle working but I am looking forward to some time off, buying whatever else I need and lazing around!

I only have one NCT class left, the instructor is excellent and I thought they were really useful. My dh came to one class and claims that is a record for an Irishman so refused to attend any more. If he thinks he can get out of changing nappies, he has a shock on the way.

Have a good weekend, all.

northeastmummy · 14/03/2008 11:52

Absolutely to the calamine lotion. I had a horrible pregnancy rash with DD1 and the only thing I could do was smother myself in the stuff.

Good luck getting it on your back?? Hope you have someone lovely to help you!

Carey87 · 14/03/2008 11:58

depends if dp sorts out insurance as to whether he is lovely or not. Giving him till 3 today to do something about it. Its just started to spread on to my nek and behind me ears, doesnt look very pleasant, and I have to wear my haor down to cover it but then it gets really hot!!

EllieG · 14/03/2008 11:59

I have to make cakes for my last day next week at work. Any ideas for something easy but impressive? And that I can make night before and is still nice next day?

Carey87 · 14/03/2008 12:00

ooo!! carrot cake cup cakes!!!

bunnyrabbit · 14/03/2008 12:05

mmm carrot cake with icing mmmmmm

sagitta · 14/03/2008 12:06

Tangerine and almond. Very easy, extremely moist and yummy, but doesn't look really glamorous, if that's what you are after.
Or very rich chocolate, raisin and brandy. Only need a tiny bit...

northeastmummy · 14/03/2008 12:09

How about some brownies? Or muffins?

Carey - that rash sounds awful. Are you ok? Is it definitely a heat rash?

Carey87 · 14/03/2008 12:11

i think it is becuase it feels like the same thing i had this time last year, i think its where the weather is cold then hot and I always have to sleep with the duvet on so I get really hot and sweaty at night. Its almost like prickly heat.

northeastmummy · 14/03/2008 12:13

Would a cool shower help? I've no idea really, just sounds so uncomfy.

TheMaskedPoster · 14/03/2008 12:15

Hello ladies - can't believe there is another thread already (I am so slack at keeping up to date). Hope all are well.

Just had a quick catch up (ie last 20 posts or so) .. I have an outie now and DH keeps referring to it as my third nipple . I had one with dd too - but it went back to 'business as usual (an innie)' after the birth - so I'm not too worried. Haven't spied any stretch marks but hey - they may be lurking in parts unseen .

Hope you are feeling better Scampmum - I have the odd moodswing too ...not a pretty sight.

All this talk of music during labour has had me overwhelmed ... I haven't even contemplated anything like that and expect DH to be serendaded by my delightful outbursts of 'turn that bloody TENS machine up' and 'ARGHHHHHH' etc etc etc!! LOL

got to go and RL again but hope to do a proper catch up soon ... LOVE the photo PFJ!

bunnyrabbit · 14/03/2008 12:15

What about Aloe Vera gel?

Carey87 · 14/03/2008 12:17

i usually pour cold water over my back or get dp to run an ice cube over it, usually helps. oh, talking about ice cubes - im addicted to ice popsicle thingys!!! sooo nice and make lo go mad!! he he!!
