Well, got to go. Will try & check in tomorrow as don´t want to miss anything now as we´re all so close

ThePFJ · 03/03/2008 17:47

Happy birthday PM.
Please gods someone stop me from eating the bags of mini eggs I packed in my hospital bag. No really.. help...
Argh...
TOO LATE

Mollyfloss · 03/03/2008 18:19

Been having a hectic day, just trying to catch up now.

Ellie: I'm feeling like a whale too, in fact like a beached whale when I'm in bed as it's so hard to move.

Did any of you ladies in your previous pregnancies develop a sweet tooth that you never had before? Please tell me that it disappeared straight after the birth. I had chocolate decadence cake in Starbucks today and now the chocloate bar in the fridge is literally calling my name. Please tell me this will stop!

Scorpio: Sounds like your mucus plug which can come out up to 4 weeks before the baby. Not a bloody show which I think means delivery is probably pretty soon but I'm a bit confused on mucus plugs and shows... Any news from the MW???

I agree with everyone who says that PG is not the sexiest time...

Even though I have another 6 weeks to go I think I will pack my hospital bag no later than tomorrow. Everyone around me is having babies early! Of course I'll probably end up waiting and twiddling my thumbs 2 weeks after my due date...

scorpio1 · 03/03/2008 18:31

No, they never rang me back!!! Hoping for a call tomorrow. No more has appeared (dont think there could be anymore tbh!!)and im not in pain or even having BH so all ok here.

All of you who are going on mat leave soon - you must be sooooo excited!!

Chocolate - yes the sweet tooth does go; but i have wanted carbs so much; especially chips!

Mollyfloss · 03/03/2008 18:37

thanks God the sweet tooth goes. I love carbs too and need a lot of them during pregnancy. I love chips from the chipper, would love some right nowq. Glad you're having no contractions Scorpio, seems like you'll be fine for while. I mean contractions are the most important sign for labour, right? babies don't just skip out like that, do they?

scorpio1 · 03/03/2008 18:41

Jamie did!! Just had backache for an hour; then bang a half hour of tummy contractions and a baby!!

Its OK though, i know what im looking out for. Quite often you can be sick or get diarrhoea - natures clear out. I had this with both of mine about an hour before i realised labour was on its imminent way.

Weirdly, my dad just rang and said Millie is going to be born at the end of the month. I hadnt even told him about today. He is always freakishly right about stuff - he has known i was pg all 3 times before i did - also sexes and almost birthweights. Same with my mum. eek! How many days in March???

Mollyfloss · 03/03/2008 18:45

Yikes! so if your Dad is right you have another 28 days to go max!

Even though I feel huge, when I look down at my bump I still find it hard to imagine that there is a little person in there. It just seems a little unreal. Theh when it hits me it's kind of scary and exciting at the same time. Does anyone else feel like this?

scorpio1 · 03/03/2008 18:47

Yes i do! I said that to DH last night - is there a real baby in my tummy? Are you sure its not something i have to go through for no reason - like periods?? I cannot believe i am going to have my own baby girl, i really can't.

Wait until they hand you your baby - nothing like it. Wish i could bottle that feeling.

Mollyfloss · 03/03/2008 19:05

I can't wait! When I think about holding her the emotions are already too much to handle so after hours of labour etc god knows what i'll be like. I was ready about someone giving birth the other day and that alone mad me cry and I'm not an overly emotional person normally...

ThePFJ · 03/03/2008 19:22

I certainly have a big sweet tooth with this PG, only in the last 5 weeks or so though. It's been slowly building up.
Gods I cry so much over stupid things. My latest cry today was watching Dawn gets Naked on iplayer. Seeing all those girls not caring about the fake/airbrushed images of bodies you see in the womens magazines.. and a really very pregnant lady showed up to go on the naked bus too..
I just burst into tears. Happy tears I think, but I am such a wuss!
I cry at least 3 times a day now I think.
DP is always really kind about it and tries to make me laugh, bless him.
Little one is 2/5th engaged on my notes, but I think he's moving down more because its really painful down around there alot atm too.

Scorpio I am so excited and tearful about holding my first baby for the first time. Oh bugger.. see now I am crying AGAIN!
Oh gods.

EllieG · 03/03/2008 19:24

Same here! Am blaming the hormones. And the lack of decent sleep. Am getting a bit tired of waking up uncomfy in night and having to work out am going to turn over...

Still got a few outstanding jobs to do - stuff to do out in hospital bag, wash baby clothes, buy bedding, get room ready....all seems HUGE but is not really. Am defo going to get some done this week. I am I am I am. [Tries to work up some enthusiasm]

ThePFJ · 03/03/2008 19:30

I am supposed to be changing a fuse in babys room, putting some chillout cd's in the maternity bag, cleaning the bathroom top to toe and hoovering the bedrooms.
I was supposed to be doing these things for a week now. I haven't. I just want to sit here, cry, and call my mum.
Bugger.
You are not alone EllieG.
xx

eva07 · 03/03/2008 20:13

peachy hasn't been here today
happy birthday, pm!

VictorianSqualor · 03/03/2008 20:37

Peachy was on another thread earlier so I don't think her absence is too telling, she may just have been busy but who knows?!?!

Where on your ntoes does it say about being engaged? I have no idea if baby is yet.

TLSM · 03/03/2008 20:40

Ohh Scorpio sounds promising

Happy birthday PM

Where is peachy! its not like her not to come on!!!

Moved offices today so now have over an hours journey to work instead of only half an hour! keep thinking to myself its only for another 5 weeks

ThePFJ · 03/03/2008 21:06

Hi,
I should have put 4/5ths engaged.
According to my Chesterfield Royal Hospital Info Booklet, (the section that helps translate your maternity notes) 5/5 = free, 4/5ths is sitting on the pelvic brim, 3/5ths is lower but most is still above the brim, 2/5ths is mostly fully engaged as most is under the brim, 1/5 and 0/5ths are deeply engaged, as hardly any is still papable from above.
In your notes the MW writes look for the bit that heads up as REL to BRIM.
This is the bit when she tells you to hold your breath and let it out slowly as she pokes your pubis/top of your pubes really bloody hard and it hurts. Well.. it does when she does it to me!
I can also see on my notes the baby's position (pres/lie). Mine was Trans - transverse across my tummy earlier on but is now Ceph, which according to my Info booklet is Cephalic - head first. B or Br is a breech with the bottom first.
In the babys heart section it says FHHR which means Foetal heart heard and regular.
There is also Fundal height on there, which the height of my bump - now at 36cms.
If you see NAD or N anywhere on your checkup notes it usually means 'about right'.
Anyways. That's enough of me going on. But its been a great distraction for me to be able to focus on telling you all about my notes!!
Thanks VictorianSqualor, and I hope that info helps you.

Mollyfloss · 03/03/2008 21:07

I'm glad to know I'm not the only emotional one or the only one with a sweet tooth.

TLSM: what a pain to move offices now! at least it's not for too much longer...

VictorianSqualor · 03/03/2008 21:12

Damn and blast, they haven't checked me to see.
I have nothing in that box.
I wanted to have a looksy.

ThePFJ · 03/03/2008 21:15

On my notes on week 30 it just says 'brim'
The 4/5ths appear on week 33 and 35.
(am now 36 weeks).
Maybe they will check you next visit, remember I am due 1st April.. no joke harhar.

Mollyfloss · 03/03/2008 21:25

PFJ: how informative! I didn't even notice any of that stuff, let alone know what it meant. So my relation to brim last week was 4/5 (something I wasn't told probably because it is completely normal at this stage). The baby's position is ceph (I didn't know this was the term for head down although I knew the baby was in that position). Thanks for the info! i'm going to look at my notes much more carefully from now on.

Scampmum · 03/03/2008 21:32

FMF is foetal movements felt as well.

VictorianSqualor · 03/03/2008 21:36

I knew most of it but they don;t botehr with half the stuff when they check me over.
Bet it's cos they want me to have a CS so it doesn't matter

Last time my notes were filled out properly was 30 weeks, and I was 'free' then they havent done any of it since.

I'm 35 weeks tomorrow! Due 9th April so not like it's too long away!

Mollyfloss · 03/03/2008 21:43

VS: I would ask them to write everything down for you.

Scampmum · 03/03/2008 21:44

Definitely! Don't let them fob you off just because you're an old hand at this pregnancy lark.

Mollyfloss · 03/03/2008 21:45

So if I was 4/5 rel to brim at 33 weeks, do you think that means there's a chance I go into labour a little early?
