No one likes a smugo scorpio - just cos you're all young and lithe doesn't mean you can flaunt it at the rest of us

at mum using c word at her children. Mean, mean, horrid.

Just been to a 'bumps and babes' coffee thing in my lunch hour. Was a bit scary and cliquey, but I will persevere. I get a bit shy in RL and don't know what to say and then worry I come across as stuck-up or boring. Or both.

TMP - am with you hon. Have desparate urge to clean and tidy and nest, but then can't be bothered and go and sit down. And I feel like a big sack o'spuds and spend a lot of time torturing self by looking at my beautiful clothes I used to wear, and now would only get over my ankle. And then I generally cry and get all needy and 'Do you still love meeeeee/fancy meeee?' to DP. Nothing more attractive than an insecure, needy woman I say.

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 13:22

Ellie - i feel like that alot, throughout my time as a mum i have found every single group like that; it is hard but keep trying. I gave up and now am quite lonely sometimes.

northeastmummy · 10/03/2008 13:22

I've been trying to catch up all morning but keep getting distracted so just had to post and say OMG gemprincess!!!!! That's amazing news! I hope Ashton has a speedy recovery and you get to hold him soon. I can't imagine how that must feel not being able to give him a cuddle.

I also wanted to say hugs to Scorpio - I still have a few pages to get through but have read about your nan and hope you're ok.

EllieG · 10/03/2008 13:22

Incidentally scorpio - when you say pushing your thumb down and back, do you mean towards your tummy or your bottom? Am a bit confused.

bunnyrabbit · 10/03/2008 13:22

Good for you.

You certainly need to drive then.

Sounds like your DD was at a 'lovely' school before!! Nice... LOL at Harry Potter reference.

Don't know how I'll cope with other parents and their darling children when DS starts school in Sept. Will no doubt be on mumsnet begging for advice!

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 13:23

towards your bottom. essentially sort of stretching where your hymen used to be !!

VictorianSqualor · 10/03/2008 13:24

Ellie, am with you on the old beautiful clothes!
When DP and I first met I had this gorgeous victorian style black dress, but I left it at my old house, when I realised I was gutted and have been trying to find one similar ever since. Saw one on new look website that's very similar and out of pure chance looked on ebay, there was one that seemed to look like it but the picture was crap.
I bought it hoping it was, and it's THE EXACT DRESS!
But it's a 12! ha!
I want to wear it now!
And heels!

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 13:25

i made the mistake of looking at my 'old' clothes last week. i cannot get most of my trousers past my thighs anymore but i will!! i don't miss 1 thing in particular though.

northeastmummy · 10/03/2008 13:26

Oh - and I can't wait to hear how Sheds, Denny and Knitter got on with their meet up today. There's been a bigger build up to that than any babies on here !!

EllieG · 10/03/2008 13:29

My favourite dress is this lovely swingy halterneck thing that is sooooo beautiful. TBH, I was a bit fat for it prior to pregnancy, as had put on about a stone after not being well for a few months, but was on the way to losing it and then got up duff. But I WILL WEAR IT AGAIN. Hopefully this summer, though that may be pushing it as is not very forgiving. And I will need to be um, about 3 and a half stone lighter for that to happen.

scorpio - don't know what you mean about where your hymen used to me - my baby is an immaculate conception, no man's bits have come near me as am not yet married

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 13:31

neither mine ellie, well only DH's becuase i am a lady. I found DS1 and decided to keep him.

EllieG · 10/03/2008 13:31

They might have all fallen out and there will be a rift on the thread and we'll all have to take sides

VictorianSqualor · 10/03/2008 13:39

I'm taking denny's side, her fella is a copper, don't want to get arrested

EllieG · 10/03/2008 13:40

Hmm...that's a good point. Having said that, I have discovered a good source of lovely knitted products in knitter, and would be loath to lose that. Think I will see who can offer me the best incentives and go with that.

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 13:49

me sooooooo tired

northeastmummy · 10/03/2008 13:50

LOL to the 3 of them falling out. I do hope not!

On perineal massage, I tried it with DD1 and persevered but I'm not sure I ever got it right and it was SO uncomfortable to do. I decided not to bother this time but now I'm worried that I should do everything EXACTLY as I did last time or I could jinx this birth. Do you think it's as important in second or subsequent births? If so, I need to get my oil out asap.

Phew - finally caught up with the thread. But now I'm interviewing all afternoon so I'm going to miss out again. Bloomin' work - roll on two weeks time.

VictorianSqualor · 10/03/2008 13:50

DP has his police assessment centre on thursday so we could bide out time and see if we need dennys DH or not

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 13:51

oh good luck your DP

My DH is looking to start a new site, his one finishes just before Millie is born. great timing!! He is very preoccupied by it, bless him

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 13:55

ooh there is a program on thursday at 9pm about teenage mums, ant waitto watch. love the way they protray us all as losers!

Mollyfloss · 10/03/2008 14:02

I'm not haveing the most healthy lunch - cheese & onion pasty to be followed by a cream donut (yum!)

Bunny, sorry to hear they kept you in for so long but maybe they just felt they needed to keep you under observation (?). It's a real pain but don't let it stop you from mentioning any other problems/worries in the future in case they really need to be attended too next time.

VS: be careful! the last thing you need is to be hit by some flying object! Good luck for tomorrow.

Moomin: If you had a DD I'd suggest a doll with all the bits and pieces to feed her and change her nappy, that way she could copy you when you are attending to new LO. MY FIL & SIL did that with my niece and it worked a treat. She was only 2yr 4mths at the time and then wanted to help with the real baby too. You could still give a boy this but maybe he wouldn't be so interested. How about a train set?

MaskedP: I empathise with the 'nothing to wear' situation. Everything I have just bothers me now. I bought a couple of basics 2 weeks ago to keep me going but basically I'm in tracksuit ends and any old top all the time... Luckily I have a DH who tells me I'm beautiful all the time

Scorpio: Take care of yourself and rest until you see the MW on Saturday. at the girl you went to school with. Why would anyone pop out kids for benefits? Surely it can't be an easier life. And I so agree with Bunny & VS, think of all the people who can't have kids. It's so

BR: There is a good chance that I will be pregnant at 40 too as I'm 32 now, on my first and want 4. If possible I'll have them all out by 38 but you never know and it doesn't make a difference to me.

moominsmummy · 10/03/2008 14:03

Oh god - how thick am I?? Pregnancy is turning my brain to mush

just trying to wade through our (disasterous) finances and sorting out another of these 0% balance transfers and thinking "oh great no need to make any payments for 12 months" - then suddenly realised I do still need to make monthly payments -just don't get charged interest -argghhhhhhhh!

how can i have been so thick? I'm normally relatively OK with this stuff.

bunnyrabbit · 10/03/2008 14:13

LOL Moominsmummy.. pregnancy brain strikes again!

VictorianSqualor · 10/03/2008 14:15

Ah teen mums, yes, I'm sure it will be very daily mail-esque.
I don't quite fit the criteria as apparently a teen mum is upto 18, and I was 19
If she'd behaved and stayed in til she was meant to I'd have been 20.

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 14:16

lol @ your

i was a teenage mum once by that definition, twice if you count 19.

moominsmummy · 10/03/2008 14:17

of course my worst pregnancy-brain moment was when I took DS swimming and realised after 5 mins in the pool that i still had my bra on under my swimming costume
