I've saved the number in my mbile as 'mnet hotline'!

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 09:31

all the roads along the prom will prob be shut here too (prom about a mile long). My mums house is about 30m from the sea, they often get seaweed in their garden!

TheMaskedPoster · 10/03/2008 09:47

number? what number ?- have we a hotline to a mobile re birth details??

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 09:48

07963222741

Think VS owns it.

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 09:52

Millie is in a really funny position - feels almost transverse, but she was head down...hope she is not trying to turn breech!! At least MW can check on weds.

Anyone watching Jeremy Kyle?

TheMaskedPoster · 10/03/2008 09:53

woo-hoo, thanks Scorpio - will save it in phone now

Mollyfloss · 10/03/2008 10:01

Morning all! Feeling a lot calmer this morning. Most of the stuff that was in the utility room has dried out now so I can tidy up a bit. Also looks like we may not need to change the carpet but we'll know for sure at the end of the week. The dehumidifier is quite noisy though. Haven't slept too badly the last couple of nights (meaning only woke up 3 times instead of 7). It must be because I am so knackered from all this mess. Anyway, things looking a lot better today and I just sent a great e-mail to the agency blaming them for negligence with photos of the crappy pipe attached.

The storm didn't really affect London did it? I didn't feel it anyway... just heard some rain...

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 10:02

we are under tornado warnings here!!

Mollyfloss · 10/03/2008 10:03

I did wake up last night with period pains that came and went for a while but then they settled down. It also feels like the baby has dropped some more (even though I was apparently deeply engaged last week). Is this possible?

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 10:11

Molly - it can feel like you are sitting on a ball; tis normal

Mollyfloss · 10/03/2008 10:22

Oh yes, I've been feeling like I've been sitting on a ball for the last few days. Weird isn't it?

Because I am paranoid I rang my Doc. who said it is normal to have these kind of pains from now on. They can be a kind of false labour as the body prepares itself for the real labour. If however I have 2 every 10 mins that last for 40 seconds and this goes on for about an hour or more I should call the maternity unit and they may suggest I come in to be examined.

It's so easy to tell that I'm a first timer!

Sheds75 · 10/03/2008 10:27

Morning all, we didn't really get much of a storm last night, hope everyone is ok. I have a strange question, does anyone else have sore knuckles??? mine are realy quite painful

bunnyrabbit · 10/03/2008 10:48

Wow I've missed loads!!

Congrats GP - I'm sure you'll be cuddling your DS soon.

Scorpio, sorry to hear your news... {{{{hug}}}}

and another moan..

Was in hospital Friday 8.15am having check-up for the brown discharge I had Thursday and Friday morning. They kept me in for obs and wouldn't let me out!!! Was sitting in the bloody ward using a bed I'm sure someone else needed going out of my mind. Had to camp outside the midwife's office on Saturday so they would get the registrar to discharge me!!! Eventually escaped at 12.05. Don't know why they kept me in. Cervix is closed and no obvious reason for bleeding. I'm having a home birth and hate hospitals so being in for 27 hours stressed the hell out of me.

Furious at the waste of time. I'm still at work so weekends are very precious to me.

Still having discharge every monring but spoke to M/W who agrees that keeping me in so long was overkill. They didn't even scan me, only CTG. LO moving arund like a tap dancer and no contractions so what the hell they thought was going to happen I don't know, and I only live 4 mins from the hospital so don't know why they didn't let me go home.

Reluctant to mention any problems now in case they drag me in again.

Very disgruntled, sorry but had to get it off my chest.

BR

moominsmummy · 10/03/2008 11:37

Hi BR - what a horrid time for you - I have the same opinion of hospitals - noisy places full of germs which it's best to get out of as soon as possible.

Thought you were very patient to wait for the official discharge (I think I would have left AMA but I know they start getting a bit snotty when you do that!)

Sheds - sorry to hear about sore knuckles - I did get very painful joints in my fingers last pregnancy - try some paracetemol - should help with the inflammation -

MollyF - glad you are getting dried out - what a nightmare in the middle of nesting! I made my DH put up two notice boards and some coat hooks last night - I not only need everything clean but super-organised - it's driving him demented

VictorianSqualor · 10/03/2008 11:40

A reminder for the MNET BABY NEWSLINE
07963222741

It's not me that owns it, but Peachy.

I think Peachy will be able to tell other MNers to come tell us the news if she has baby though! (Plus she'll be at home hopefully)

Fucking storm is horrendous here, our recycling bin (one of the big ones) has been blown against our gate so hard it burst the gate open and came flying into our side passage

bunnyrabbit · 10/03/2008 11:43

Wow VS! Do not leave the house!!

I was also going to make a crude comment about side passages, but have realised this would be beneath me...

BR

bunnyrabbit · 10/03/2008 11:45

Moomin, it was bloody horrible. Get stresseed just thinging about it. How can you relaxe when anyone can just they're head round the curtain?

And was asked to close the windo as it was chilly! Yeah for a flaming sauna may be.

BR

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 11:45

storm is mad here too; had to go out to get ds2 from nursery and nearly got blown over!!

bunnyrabbit · 10/03/2008 11:46

Typo city...'relax' 'thinking about it' 'pop their head' and 'window'

bunnyrabbit · 10/03/2008 11:47

Scorpio, be careful, if you pop early I shall accuse you of cheating!

moominsmummy · 10/03/2008 11:57

OMG - just noticed the time - am working from home today and have done nought but check my emails so far - and potter around house (and browse MN!) better do some real work

can't wait for mat leave to start (another 4 weeks to go!!)

moominsmummy · 10/03/2008 12:01

BTW - what presents have new babies "brought with them" for older siblings?

My DS is 3.5 and I'd like to get him something that will keep him fascinated and occupied whilst I am BF new baby. any suggestions?

bunnyrabbit · 10/03/2008 12:16

Oh my. Hadn't really thought of that. My DS is 4.5....

TheMaskedPoster · 10/03/2008 12:20

good point moominsmummy ... we have been pondering what to get DD (3.9) 'from the baby' (although she tells me -'don't be silly mummy, the baby won't be able to buy anything ').LOL.

Will continue to think on it and let you know if we come up with a miracle answer!

BTW - filled with a certain amount of 'Can't be bothered-ness' at the moment. Everything seems like such a chore and tiredness doesn't seem to help. This has followed hot on the heels of 'Nothing to wear and everything I try on is revolting-ness (accompanied by tears)' that I was consumed with over the weekend ... ahhhhh!!!

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 12:22

TMP - i am the same. just want to wear jogging bottoms (sooo comfy) but i only wear them indoors. everything else is getting small or uncomfortable. i normally love housework - but cannot be arsed. Just have lustful thoughts over my bed ALOT!
