Molly I am SICK and TIRED of people telling me I look like I could go into labour any second!
Its TORTURE!
-sniffs-

Mollyfloss · 09/03/2008 17:12

Oh Knitter, tell your sister to cop on. I really don't think you've hurt your Mum. I bet she doesn't even remember. If your Mum says she understands how you would like her closer so she didn't have to be there full time and she wasn't offended by that then she sounds pretty cool and understanding. I get on pretty well with my Mum but we both say anything and everything at times but it really doesn't matter. I just told my Mum the other night not to say 'I told you so' if I get an epidural (because she thinks I'll be screaming for one after 5 mins and she could well be right). You know anyway, once the baby comes along grandparents go completely gaga so I wouldn't worry about anything that's said now while you're all hormonal with pg...

Mollyfloss · 09/03/2008 17:15

I know what you mean PFJ, espevcially as we could be saiting around 2 weeks after our due dates. Yesterday I was thinking it would be nice if my LO came along a little early but now I'm like don't come until I get this mess cleaned up, although i'm being a bit of a freak because it is not that bad really.

ThePFJ · 09/03/2008 17:21

Good luck getting things right Molly. Lets hope that time flies.

Knitter.. you know it sounds like your sister is jealous of you. Having a go at you trying to protect your mum, trying to claim your mothers feelings for her own...
Do you know what I mean? I bet she didn't ask you why you felt angry or moody and how you felt, in a caring sisterly way..

KnitterInTheNW · 09/03/2008 18:21

No she didn't ask, cos that wouldn't be her. She did say several times that she never plans to be pg so she'll never know what it's like, that's as understanding as she gets! She's an odd one, my little sister... She's more excited by her new horse than she is about having a new nephew in a few weeks! She's def not jealous, it's more like it's out of her range of emotions to even think about it. If I'm completely honest I do get p'd off with her being the way she is, I'd love her to be more like me (!) and be closer etc, but that's not how it is.

I probably do 'hurt' my mum sometimes, but she has very little tact and often gets the wrong end of the stick, and the only way to get things through to her sometimes is by getting a bit snappy, because she hasn't understood what you've been patiently telling her for the last 10 mins.

I honestly do love my family, really!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 09/03/2008 18:23

What a nightmare Molly! Let's hope the stress of it all doesn't bring the LO on early.

ThePFJ · 09/03/2008 18:29

Me and DP just had a big argument.. I am TRYING to clean the sodding bathroom..

ThePFJ · 09/03/2008 19:22

All better.. we're having take away.
Gods this can be a stressful time!

chipmonkey · 09/03/2008 19:26

Hi folks
Gemprincess, congratulations!!!! Ds3 was born at 32 weeks and is absolutely fine now, he had some breathing trouble at the start as well but I was able to hold him within a couple of days and it was no time at all before he was in a cot rather than an incubator. He was only 15 days total in hospital as well so hopefully you will have him home soon with his big sisters!

Molly, that sounds horrendous! But we had a burst pipe a few years ago, all over our wooden floors and it seemed terrible at the time but we didn't need to get them replaced in the end.

Mollyfloss · 09/03/2008 19:48

There is stuff spread out all over our apartment to dry and some of it is more already more or less dry and I'm just dying to tidy it up. DH says I should leave it all until at least tomorrow and I suppose he is right but in my nesting state I just can't bear looking at it all! particularly the stuff that's drying out on the baby's room (which is only some suitcases and bags). I keep walking around looking at it all and checking if it's dry yet... I'm going nuts here. Still, at worst they will have to replace the hallway carpet which I suppose is not going to turn the place upside down and they may not even have to do that. Thank God we were here! Sorry I'm ranting again...

ThePFJ · 09/03/2008 19:59

ok Mollyfloss. You need to relax. I know exactly how you feel. How about you lay down with a cup of hot chocolate and talk to bump for a while. Or play bump music? The stress isnt good for baby and your DH is right. LEAVE it til tomorrow.
Stay here with us and thank your lucky stars your DH talks sense.
Sometimes I have to force myself to stop.. and I have HAD to tonight as well.. I havent finished that bathroom yet.
Do you want me and Ellie to get the gaffa tape out and tape you to your chair???
We will!!!

Hugs! XXX

Mollyfloss · 09/03/2008 20:40

You are right PFJ. I've found something else to do. I'm transferring all the photos from my computer onto an external hard drive, feels like I'm tidying but is less stressful and is a good thing to do too as I need the space on my computer I'm going to have a herbal tea too

ThePFJ · 09/03/2008 21:06

Damn it Molly. Reminding me I need to declutter my harddrive and remove all the repeat files and sort the photos....
Bugger.
Put the kettle on then....
It's gonna be a long night!

Peachy · 09/03/2008 21:15

Ah burst water pipe- poor soul! (should I mention ours went- well the cistern ballcock anyway- when i satrted in labour with ds2 LOL so i spent the first hour bailing out? Or that Dh's brand new car sheared a component when I was going into induced labour with ds1 and he turned up on the back of a breakdown truck..... )

Fortunately no disasters with ds3! Oh apart from the due date being changed to when most of my family were in Scotland.....

PMSL

I am a disaster magnet!

This storm tonight due to strike us directly, Dh at workso have begged him to be careful coming home in the early hours. Shan't be going into labour tonight though- baby ahs completely shifted and is now nowhere near in position, I'm glad I have that scan booked for Thursday- not just to check positin but if sebatian is still doing this at 37 weeks he must really be small!

ThePFJ · 09/03/2008 21:19

Awwww. Sebastian is a lovely name. Time for me to -try- and settle down for a nap, since I have had next to NO sleep at all for the last two days. Heartburn, bladder and period pains plus a jumping baby in my belly haven't allowed it.
Night night all. Hope the storm doesn't cause any problems!
XXX

Mollyfloss · 09/03/2008 21:51

Sebastien is a lovely name.

Right I'm still transferring files but will stop soon and head off to bed. G'night!

ThePFJ · 10/03/2008 02:49

Woohoo! Over 4 hours sleep!
Now my bladder is vaguely empty again...
-falls back asleep-
ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzz.......

eva07 · 10/03/2008 05:24

morning ladies, hope no one's got blown or washed away!
this seems a good meeting point for insomniacs... april08 - owls, little rats and raspberry leaves

TheMaskedPoster · 10/03/2008 08:30

OMG - Just popped on for a quick catch up and wow - a baby has arrived!!! HOORAY for you Gemprincess - well done and I must say I LOVE the name (as it is our number one choice if we have a ds) . Take care xx.

I actually slept quite well last night - until the storm kicked in... then I was listenening to the winds feeling all cosy and nice (and not at all annoyed that I couldn't sleep - for once).

Right - must go and RL it for a while. Will try and pop back later for a proper catch up (wonders at the liklihood of getting a spare 30 mins to do this ,...) - hope everyone ok.xx

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 09:26

Morning

Feeling a bit better, DH is being very supportive. The storm is massive here!! I cannot drive either and have to take Jamie to the docs today; behind his ear is all infected i think. but some cfream will sort it.

DH is working outside today i rang him but he said he is ook for the meanwhile so up to him i guess!! Geting the pushchair on saturday, wow, i can't wait to play with it!!

I have got MW on weds, going to mention the show to her, as the other MW won't tell her. I only have a few things to do before Millie can arrive - i need 2 more packs of maternity towels, need to wash moses basket covers/clean mattress and put aside a set of clean bedsheets for after wards.

EllieG · 10/03/2008 09:27

Hey all!

I'm so tired.....can't sleep for aching and bladder needing emptying and DP's snoring...rowed with DP all day yesterday cos I was moaning and he was snappy.....hey ho. Is all sorted now though.

How's your stuff drying molly?

knitter - sorry to hear your sister's been a bit of a poo. Ignore her. I am mostly ignoring everyone who is not completely and unconditionally on my side at the moment, as anything but complete support makes me grumpy and tearful. Oh, I am so lovely to live with....

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 09:27

oh and i have saved mobile number in my phone and will text when going in labour and when she born!!

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 09:28

does it do pics? just thinking that pics could be uploaded too, if we sent pic msgs?

ThePFJ · 10/03/2008 09:29

Morning everyone. That was quite a storm wasn't it? My cats were on the bed looking for reassurance alot last night, bless their little white paws.
I have a midwife appointment today at 11.00 so I'll update you all if anything exciting and or interesting happens. THAT reminds me.. I forgot to wee in this pot. I'll have to go and try now. There's always something in the old bladder these days!

EllieG · 10/03/2008 09:30

Is very stormy here too - coast roads are all closed cos the sea is invading! Was quite exciting drive to work this morning. DSD is still at home as she can't get to school so she's very excited.
