I just spent the last 45 mins on the phone to my Mum - all baby talk of course. In the scan they said she already has lot of hair so we were wondering what colour hair she would have. With my genes it could be dark, red of blonde... I'm dark so is DH, my Mum is a red head and my Dad was born blonde but darker later... who knows... My Mum also told me she got stretch marks and they are genetic so I better apply cream all the time if I have any chance of beating them!

ThePFJ · 07/03/2008 19:36

I already have stretch marks They appeared on mass a few weeks ago.
As for hair colour, most of our families are a dark brown. So this is 'probably' what Jack will turn out like.

moominsmummy · 07/03/2008 19:40

hello hello everyone

VicSq- good luck with the driving altho maybe not the best time to start - I scraped my car badly when i was 2 months preg and when I called my insurance company to claim they said "oh your no claims is fine as your last claim was 3 years ago" - then it dawned on my that i was pregnant then too....oops

PFJ - sorry you are feeling so rotten - hope feel lots better soon

Since we can't all get together I did wonder about organising a "virtual" night out on here - we could get really drunk (in a virtual manner) and eat lots of virtual pate, shellfish and and rare steak.

what d'you think? we wouldn't have to pay for babysitters or worry about what to wear!

ThePFJ · 07/03/2008 19:42

Oh sounds good!
Can I get really drunk and dance on the table?
Pleaseeeeeeeeeee??
:O

ThePFJ · 07/03/2008 19:43
Grin
ThePFJ · 07/03/2008 19:44

I'll make virtual vodka jellies!

VictorianSqualor · 07/03/2008 19:46

As long as we can have some really drunken karaoke.
Would you believe that one thing I really want to do is get pissed and play singstar with DP, I've only ever been to two karaoke nights as well.
Weird.

I have no idea what time DP is coming home so I think I may have a long soak in the bath after I put the DC's to bed.

ThePFJ · 07/03/2008 19:47

Oooo .. can we all do Madonna's 'Hung Up' ?

VictorianSqualor · 07/03/2008 19:52

ThePFJ · 07/03/2008 19:54

VictorianSqualor · 07/03/2008 20:50

Best quote ever

Shirley (to Heather) ; I was the prettiest girl at the party (mimicking) Whose wedding was it? The flipping Munsters?

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 07/03/2008 20:52

Hey I'm up for a party - pass that bottle of rose over here!

BTW - also checked out that video that was posted - looks like a hypnobirthing birth (all the video's I have seen so far of HB births are like that) and that's what I am hoping for....

Anyway - back to the party - pump up the music and pass those nibbles this way!

ThePFJ · 07/03/2008 20:57

wooooooooo!!!!!
I -hic- wanna anothers -hic- vodkash pleash, and makeh it a bigsh onesh!!!

VictorianSqualor · 07/03/2008 22:01
Denny185 · 07/03/2008 22:31

Well finally caught up and looks like Ive missed the party.

Poor Peachy, it seems like lots of stuff to have to cope with at this stage, uni, schools and now DH work, hope theres some light at the end of the tunnel soon. Thanks for the mobile contact (great idea VS) will be handy for those off MN for a few days.

Waters breaking - with DS mine broke at home on the toilet but then continued to leak for hours, remember arriving at the hospital (thankfully) in the early hours with a bath towel between my legs - hmmmm nice.

Stretch marks - yes you are predisposed to stretch marks it's to do with the collagenous make up of your system (in your DNA), basically how stretchy you are. Despite knowing this I still slap on the cream every day in the hope it will prevent any more.

TNS machines - they are selling a basic unit at the moment through Lloyds pharmacies for £10. The only difference between these and the obstetric TNS machines is that they do not have a boost button to increase the intensity during contractions. TBH I hired one last time and used the boost all of once coz it drove me nuts so I just used it as standard TNS anyway.

Finished work now Last day was pretty hectic trying to get everything finished, but done now for months. Have been out to big mothercare and boots (only have a tiny boots by us) and in the cupboard now is cotton wool, nappies, nipple protectors (just in case), breast shells, a free changing bag from boots parenting club and a new matress for the crib. So now nothing packed but at least have it all here ready. Also decorated spare bedroom ready to move DS into in few months time - couldnt face painting with baby and toddler so out of the way now - really pleased with it, DS walking round the room pointing to all the pictures saying 'car?' - no darling thats an aeroplane , 'car?' - no thats a boat, bless he'll get there one day.

Knitter (and sheds) if you do get there early come find me in the play bit - I'll be the beached whale in the ball pool, if not see you somewhere in the pub bit and yep think we can get away without the roses in the lapels

Mollyfloss · 07/03/2008 22:31

ooooh, a Friday night piss up, haven't been to one of those in ages! I'll have a strawberry margherita please!

ThePFJ · 07/03/2008 23:00

-passes out under a pile of coats-

Sweet dreams.
