wow, first april-crew baby!!
congratulations, gemprincess! hope you both get well soon!

Mollyfloss · 08/03/2008 09:12

OMG First baby! Gemprincess, Congratulations! That is just fantastic news!!! Yes, definitely great weight for 34 weeks and 6 days (wait! that's exactly what I am today, just shows could be anytime soon).

Has your son got a name yet?

Great news!!!

moominsmummy · 08/03/2008 09:52

Please help everyone - tell me where I can get some over the bump/full panel casual trousers from! I have nothing to wear

I have a very low and pronounced bump so most maternity trousers don't fit and I reckon I still have another 2 months to go (DS was overdue like all babies in our family and I won't be readily agreeing to Induction this time)

help help - have tried mothercare, jojo, bloomingM, next etc.

Denny185 · 08/03/2008 10:11

OMG gemprincess congratulations hope you and your son r recovering well and home soon. Keep us updated.

Moomins - have you tried yoga type pants, not v smart but v comfy, they had lots of ebay (need the ones with elastine in ob). Or have you tried one of those bump belt things that you can attached in to expand the front section?

ToastAddict · 08/03/2008 10:19

moomin - I have one of these in black - it's pretty good, covers that gap between top of maternity trousers and bottom of top, iyswim

I am normally a size 10-12, got the M/L one (size 12-16) and am very glad I did, sometimes even that is a little tight.

Plus you can use it as a boob tube!

VictorianSqualor · 08/03/2008 10:58

Congrats gemrpincess.
DD was born at 32 weeks, weighing 5lb 1.5 and she came home after a month, but she had a pneumothorax so had to be sedated whilst they fixed her up, so hopefully your DS will be home asap.
xxxxxx

ThePFJ · 08/03/2008 11:41

Wow!!! Congrats Gem!
Thats really got me thinking 'labour' now!
Do you have a name yet?
Well done you!
So... whose next we wonder?!
-listens for the pops-

ThePFJ · 08/03/2008 11:54

Wow.. just went to Pampers.com to update myself on how many weeks gone I am.. tomorrow I'll be in week 38 and officially 'full term'..

VictorianSqualor · 08/03/2008 12:01

Full-term is anywhere between 37-42 weeks.
So you're already full-term

ThePFJ · 08/03/2008 12:09

oh balls...

KnitterInTheNW · 08/03/2008 13:50

Congratulations Gemprincess!

It's good to know you can get onto here on patientline too, I was wondering.

I just got back from meeting a couple of the girls from my NCT group for coffee, it was really good to get out and have a natter. I'm shattered now though and going to go and put my feet up!

Peachy · 08/03/2008 14:10

Yep, I can have the baby at home from tomorrow and I turn 37 weeks tomorrow- although different healtha reas allow HB's from different stages (37 or 38 weeks)

EllieG · 08/03/2008 15:13

OMG! gemprincess! This is fabulous news! LOADS AND LOADS of congratulations to you - our first baby's come!

Mollyfloss · 08/03/2008 15:33

Moomsin: Thesedon't look good in the picture but I bought them in black at the beginning of my pregnancy and I wear them all the time. I'm wearing them today. There is no real seam so they are really comfortable and when you were them with a posh top they actually look chic but when you wear them with a casual top they look casual. Don't go by the picture here, just go to M&S and get a pair. After going all out and buying some expensive maternity clothes these are what I wear most (only £15!)

jenniejennie · 08/03/2008 15:35

Congratulations Gemprincess, im so pleased for you.

Moominsmummy I am living in my sweaty betty yoga trousers at the moment. They do special pregnancy ones but my normal ones are so stretchy and comfortable and the only thing I can relax in now. The roll down trousers can be folded up to go over your bump and keep you all toasty warm. They have some in the sale now.

KnitterInTheNW · 08/03/2008 15:54

I've only got 2 1/2 weeksish til I get induced, and suddenly the elastic round the top of my trusty over bump next jeans is digging in. The only comfy things I have for any length of time are PJs and a couple of dresses, one of which is pretty awful but was only a fiver and is fine for inside the house! I bought this dress today, I didn't want to buy any more maternity clothes as I've only got a couple of weeks left to go, but it's stretchy and I can get a boob out of it (!) so at least I'll get some wear out of it after junior arrives.

Peachy · 08/03/2008 16:58

I'm having same problem, nothing would fit this morning. Not willing to buy anything though- too close to due date and planning no more (can't ebay as DH hijacked my account and changed all the passwords- not being mean LOL, started sellinga few bits and it turned into a decent second income, so he's wary of having shoes etc listed amongst the electronics in his listings).

ThePFJ · 08/03/2008 17:29

I like the dress Knitter

ThePFJ · 08/03/2008 17:47

I cant believe you only have 2 and a half weeks Knitter! I am so excited for all of us!!

Sheds75 · 08/03/2008 18:13

wow congratualations Gem, glad all is well with you and your LO

Denny & Knitter 12:30 sounds good to me, see you there

SillyReady2Pop · 08/03/2008 18:15

Congrats to GP
I am 37 weeks now and feeling fed up. I can highly recommend picchu maternity wear. Great comfy trousers that you can pull up or roll down. Keep their shape for the whole day too. I am fed up of keep hitching up jeans etc that i have just settled for these.

bashboid · 08/03/2008 18:23

Blimey, a baby already - that just makes it all so real! Congrats Gemprincess on the arrival of your little fella! Hope you are both recovering well.

gemprincess · 08/03/2008 18:32

hi ladies, have named him Ashton... he is in hdu as having problems with breathing, not able to hold yet but have just been shown how to do his cares.I feel likeive been hit by a bus,,came in yesterday morning as havin pain in c section scar. thought it was adhesions so was waitin to be monitored then home for tea. pain got worse at 3,consultant was seein lady in next bed and turned to me to say i looked like a lady in labour.before i knew it had scan, tried to do trace an i was contracting and suddendly baby was in distess..was in theatre within 13 mins.. reall scary as i nearly did not go for check up as did not want to waste midwife time..consltant said i was very lucky as unlikely scar would have held much longer.had a bleed while in recovery as poor uterus had enough.. poor dh still in shock as he only turned up 10 mins before all kicked off. Anyway he is gorgeous and i cant wait to hold him. hope this message makes sense as this keyboard is tiny, shold not moan as great bein able to get on line.. take care all x

SillyReady2Pop · 08/03/2008 18:36

Look after yourself Gem and it won't be long until you can hold him. He's a great weight. Ashton will soon be home with you. Congrats

Denny185 · 08/03/2008 19:36
