Mum2 I also have a friend with cancer of the pituitary gland, she's a bit further down the line and seems to be going well for her so fingers crossed. X

peacocks do a black dressing gown as well, a zip up one which is really soft

lots to catch up on today

Well i had a good day with my friend and went to fatty yoga, DH has gone to the pub now so all in all a nice day,

Me and DH are doing great now, think it was a clearout iyswim?? Much better to each other and he is much more affectionate with me.

Sorry to hear about your friend its awful. I hope it will be ok.

My nan had her hospital appt today, hoping she is ok. wil lask mum later.

Off for a curry tomorrow night with my parents, sisters and DH

Had slight spotting today - literally just 1 wipe of pinky stuff. What is Mills doing?? She is active and no pain.

ThePFJ · 05/03/2008 20:29

Precious minieggs... -drools-

PortAndLemon · 05/03/2008 21:10

Just watching Dawn Gets A Baby. I don't remember gas and air being that much fun... (but then I had my mind on other things at the time )

Also wondering if I should reconsider the whole VBAC thing...

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 05/03/2008 21:13

Thanks all - praying that all will go well for her...

LOL - PFJ - you and your mini eggs!

Scorpio - what is going on with your little Millie - sounds like she wants out to me! Sorry to hear about your Gran - hope she'll be okay.

EllieG · 05/03/2008 21:15

Oh God I am officially the stupidest person on MN. You all thought I was being funny by asking 'What is sunlight?' - actually I read it like it was a kind of detergent and was genuinely wondering what kind of brand 'Direct Sunlight' was. Durrrr!

Am blaming it on being PG. Plus have had no chocolate today (though have eaten a shitload of cake) so I think I may be suffering some sort of withdrawal. As is my donkey.

((((hugs))))) for Mum2 x

PortAndLemon · 05/03/2008 21:25

Still watching Dawn Porter programme and suddenly remembering what labour is like...

scorpio1 · 05/03/2008 21:38

pmsl ellie!!!!!

P&L - its fine, do not torture thyself!!

EllieG · 05/03/2008 21:46

It's all manufactured darling. If we had as many nips and tucks and botox and personal trainers we'd all look like that too.

scorpio1 · 05/03/2008 21:46

oh am not jealous just think she is hot

Mollyfloss · 05/03/2008 22:17

Sorry to hear about your friend Mum2b. I think a lot of those tumors turn out to be benign so fingers crossed.

How did we get on the subject of Mariah? She has a pretty good body alright and is not afraid to sell it... it's depressing considering my own body right now. I think after this baby I am going to have to do a proper diet for the first time in my life...

PortAndLemon · 05/03/2008 22:45

PMSL at "Oh John, look, it's a little baby!" as if she was expecting something else to pop out...

Mollyfloss · 05/03/2008 22:49

I thought that was so funny too but apparently a lot of people say that and loads forget to ask the sex of the baby too!

Mollyfloss · 05/03/2008 22:53

I thought a lot of her groaning and moaning with her eyes closed could be mistaken for an orgasm too... I think she must regret it. I mean can you imagine your friends or worse your brothers looking at that?

At least the first one was doing proper screaming and shouting stop this pain etc... god I a such a cow criticising them. I don't really mean to criticise, it's just I can't figure out for the life of me why they would let someone film them!

ThePFJ · 06/03/2008 00:14

I think that Dawn was just completely stupid to go to Toronto and expect Tara's baby NOT to turn up. Its called SODS LAW. And if she was a good journalist she would have been there. I think the bond she built up with Tara was good, and she could have really helped and 'experienced it'. Perched on her stall like a parrot not knowing what to do for the second labour just didnt seem right. I am glad she had an emotional responce in the end... but it would have been SO much better if she had of turned up for Tara. Who.. btw looked GOOD in the bikini top she picked to wear in the pool. You could tell she really thought out what to wear on tv and what she wanted. Poor Meredith didnt really get a chance to figure that out I think.
Ah well....
-scoffs more eggs-

PortAndLemon · 06/03/2008 00:34

I don't know... it was two weeks early (says the person whose DH is in Nepal until two weeks before her EDD and who therefore refuses to acknowledge any possibility of babies arriving two weeks early)

ToastAddict · 06/03/2008 06:57

Blimey, so much to catch up on. I will go back and have a read in a mo, just wanted to ask advice (if anyone is up at this stupid hour!) first

I'm 33+4, first pg. Woke up at 5ish this morning with what I would call period pains. Seemed fairly constant, if pushed I guess I would say they lasted about 5 minutes, stopped for a minute or 2 and then came back again. Not agonising, but enough to wake me up, and if it had been period pain, I would have taken some ibuprofen.

Seems to have subsided now I have got up and had a hot drink.

Sooooo....... are these "contractions"???? Do I need to call m/w? No other symptoms - no show, no bleeding, no waters leaking. I know a few of you on here have been complaining about contractions for a while, so guess it doesn't mean labour is imminent, it just all seems a bit scary when no one else is awake

moominsmummy · 06/03/2008 07:17

hi toast - i'm awake too! (just trying to list my 3 yr old DS for sale on ebay - anyone interested in a toddler who wakes 5 times a night? grrrrrr! )

sounds like contractions but i believe you can get them on and off for several weeks before "real" labour starts

no need to do anything if there's no other symptoms - are you seeing your mw soon anyway?

ToastAddict · 06/03/2008 07:28

Thanks moominsmummy - sorry you're awake too!

Seeing m/w next Friday, may phone her at some point today just for reassurance - didn't feel I could at 6.30am!

Started to panic now about all the stuff I haven't bought yet because "I have loads of time for that"! (planning on starting major shopping when I start mat leave - end of next week, I will be 35 weeks). Haven't even bought a car seat yet, so couldn't get lo home if she came early! But as DH says, that's what t'internet is for...

moominsmummy · 06/03/2008 07:39

maybe it's baby's way of telling you to get a move on with the retail-therapy!! would advise doing internet for stuff anyway as it's all too bulky to try and get home from the shop

(we've found Boots to be great at internet and home delivery - mothercare not so good - but that's just our experience)

let us know what the mw says when you speak to her

v jealous you are starting mat leave next week - I am at work til 7th april (37 weeks) then have to take DH to hospital appointment, DS to different hospital for another appointment then DH has 3 day inpatient chemo treatment 5 days before baby is due. argghhhhh! really relying on this one coming late not quite sure when i'll get a chance to relax

northeastmummy · 06/03/2008 08:28

Just have to take you back a bit ... OMG moominsmummy, the thought of sucking out snot is probably the grossest thing that's crossed my mind in a LONG time .... eeeewww indeed!!! And LOL at Ellie for asking about sunlight, it was such a funny one first time round - now you've made it a doubly whammy!

Mum2 - that's such sad news about your friend. I hope things aren't as bad as they seem.

And moomin - crumbs to your run up. You have a lot to handle ... are you ok?

bunnyrabbit · 06/03/2008 08:53

Sorry to post and run but at work and busy but concerned.....

36 weeks on Saturday and have brown discharge this morning (and sore throat but think that's a red herring).

Bit worried. Saw m/w yesterday and all looks fine. What is this??

BR

bunnyrabbit · 06/03/2008 09:01

Oh sorry if TMI

EllieG · 06/03/2008 09:05

Not sure bunny - sure someone will tell you soon. I'd ring MW to check if worried though.

moominmumy - is your DH very poorly at moment? Sorry to hear that hon x
