Ta muchly for advice. Will leave the blanket situation then and get more as and when I need them. Do you need a clean blanket every day?

PortAndLemon · 05/03/2008 15:16

Only if they throw up or leak other bodily fluids on the one you've just used (which is not at all unlikely... )

VictorianSqualor · 05/03/2008 15:20

Soph, VBAC's with a past CS for something not likely to reoccur (i.e. not because you can't physically give birth) have a 75% success rate.
The same as any other vaginal birth success rate.
Having a cs once doesn't have any bearing on your next labour unless it was something physical, you should just treat it as a first birth, so tell her to shh.

moominsmummy · 05/03/2008 15:21

ellie - don't bother changing blanket (or clothes for that matter) every day unless you have to - you'll be doing enough washing on an as-needs basis as it is

try and get tops in creamy/yellow colours to hide the vomit and curry yellow trousers to hide the poo stains -

actually DO make sure you get loads of napisan in - sold in supermarkets near the milton fluid - great for soaking stained/yukky clothing in - disinfects it too

SuzeM · 05/03/2008 15:22

Thanks for checking for me, moominsmummy.

ThePFJ · 05/03/2008 15:23

Hello!! Thanks for saving me some minieggs!
I went shopping this morning and cried when I got home for 10 minutes because I bought the wrong kind of pasty.
You are right northeastmummy.. we ARE next!!
A friend told me today that I look smaller and so I said its probably because my little one inside me has moved down. She said I looked ready to pop and was sure baby would come early. So many people have commented to me he'll be early.. and it upsets me. I know its SODS LAW he won't come early and I'll end up getting my hopes up for nothing. Which is silly because I'll get a baby at the end of it anyways... but... GNAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I keep dreaming my father turns up in the delivery room and starts telling what I am doing wrong.. 'You don't want to do it like that.. you wanna do it like THIS'
It's freaking me out.
Oh poo.. I'm just having a bad day aren't I?
Poor me.
Sniff.
-goes off to eat entire bowl of rice crispies and mini eggs-

xxx

PortAndLemon · 05/03/2008 15:28

Sunlight bleaches out breastfed poo stains very easily.

It was months before anyone told me that, but it's true. Wash, pop in direct sunlight to dry, and stains are gone within a few hours (from natural fabrics, anyway).

VictorianSqualor · 05/03/2008 15:28

PFJ, I know exactly what you mean, everyone comments on me and says 'I bet it comes early', so I know it won't, and I NEED it to!

DP also says I look smaller, which I take as 'have dropped' in man laguage

ThePFJ · 05/03/2008 15:32

Oh VS.. I want to try to start thinking 'come on baby lets go into labour..' but my mum isnt here yet. She wont be here til the 21st.. a week before lo is due..
Also, my inner thighs REALLY HURT today

moominsmummy · 05/03/2008 15:36

sorry but I got told by everyone first time around "that baby will come early" and I did start to believe them.

Was eventually induced as I went 14 days overdue

this time I'm telling everyone the baby is due early May cos I don't think it will be here til then - and I won't be agreeing to an induction again either.....

make sure you plan loads to do after your due date otherwise it can really drag.....

EllieG · 05/03/2008 15:40

Good tip re yellow clothes moominsmummy!

What is sunlight?

Sal22 · 05/03/2008 15:40

Hi PFJ. Muscles or skin hurting? Probably not supposed to help at all, but skin on my inner thighs was really sore the other day (embarrassing admission here...) and in desparation I put on some nappy rash cream (Bepanthan) and it worked like a dream. If muscles, sorry, no help, but good luck anyway.

ThePFJ · 05/03/2008 15:41

You are right moominsmummy I need to shake this and start thinking 42 weeks and not 40 weeks for my own sanity.
That way if he's earlier than 42 I can be chuffed to bits.
Maybe I could join some kind of club or find more things in the house that need cleaning and then guilt myself about not being bothered to clean them while watching Quincy?
Hmm..

PortAndLemon · 05/03/2008 15:41

Doesn't actually need to be bright sunlight. If you can find a couple of hours when it isn't actually raining or night time then that works fine...

ThePFJ · 05/03/2008 15:43

Thanks Sal.. but it is my muscles. I walk so bow legged that people are STARING at me!!!
Oh crumbs!
-eats more chocolate-

ThePFJ · 05/03/2008 15:43

BTW Hi Ellie! How's the donkey?

ThePFJ · 05/03/2008 15:48

Refering to the 'poo stains' conversation, I take it some Vanish in the wash ISNT going to cut it then?

Sal22 · 05/03/2008 15:50

Well, at least muscles are better than having such fat thighs lately that I'm getting friction burns . I should really stop eating those toffees.

Soph73 · 05/03/2008 15:59

Thanks VS
ThePFJ - vanish directly onto stain & in wash worked for me but didn´t happen very often as DS1 was a very "contained" baby So this one is bound to be a right messy blighter

Soph73 · 05/03/2008 16:01

LOL at Ellie's "what is sunlight" comment. Come over here it´s glorious at the mo and lovely and warm (about 25/26 degrees)

ThePFJ · 05/03/2008 16:07

Awww Sal.. I use plenty of Dove deoderant on my inner thighs if they decide to get a bit close.. not something that happens with the bow legged thing at the moment for me though.. sigh. And Ellie... -points at Soph73- 'Go GET her!!!'
hehehehe

Soph73 · 05/03/2008 16:28

Noooooo, I promise I won´t mention the weather again I´ve just had to have a walk around as it´s the only time Sam stops kicking the hell out of me. Hopefully he´s going to like lots of long walks in his buggy as movement seems to soothe him

ThePFJ · 05/03/2008 16:40

Same here. I walk around while jiggly slighty and little Jack quiets right down.

Here's a question for all you mums to be who have done it before. Do I need a nasal aspirator?

(Its a little plastic ball with a nosell end for getting bogeys out from babys nose - like a turkey baster...)

There one in this catalog for 1.99 and its probably the only thing I dont have ready in the nursery.
Any thoughts?

Soph73 · 05/03/2008 16:43

ThePFJ - never had or needed one for DS1. Just the thought makes me nauseous. You´d think I´d be used to snot-nosed children working in a school but it really does make me feel sick - blaarrghh!

Soph73 · 05/03/2008 16:46

Anyhoo, only 5 minutes till the bell so better bog off for now. Have lovely evenings everyone. See you tomorrow.
Soph xxxx
