Looks like Peachy posted today at 3o'clockish and VS asked her to come over to this thread and reassure us no baby is immenent. I kinda want someone to go into labour though.. its been a long 8 months and I need someone's baby to coo over!
Good Night Girls. Sleep well

northeastmummy · 05/03/2008 08:33

Ha ha PAL - useless isn't it! Maybe you could make a fortune by designing a pair of maternity PJs that are dark on the bottom, and light on top (for anyone who has a pukey baby, you'll know why!!).

I'm working from home (aka trying to keep up with MN for a change) this morning - have the midwife at 11am so there wasn't any point going across to time to come back again for that.

I'm quite sure it'll be no time before the babies start appearing here PFJ - there are so many of us and some fairly imminent dates.

northeastmummy · 05/03/2008 08:35

Thanks for the mini eggs by the way - that was very generous!! I saved you some ... here ...

EllieG · 05/03/2008 09:01

Mmmm never to early for chocolate - pass 'em over here NEM

Hello moominsmummy home stretch now!

Hi everyone else this morning - had weird dream last night that had the baby at home and was trying to BF but couldn't find my nipples! So I tried BF on my nose, which hurt, and eventually located nipples half way down my side, near my back. Make of that what you will ladies......

scorpio1 · 05/03/2008 09:15

lol Ellie - that may prove tricky!!

Off out today to see a friend and have lunch, will be nice. Yoga tonight.

Am eating porridge for brekky - yummy!!

Hope you are all well?

TheMaskedPoster · 05/03/2008 09:38

LMAO EllieG - oh how you make me laugh ... nipple nose

I am tres tired today after waking up at about 2.30am and unable to get back to sleep til at leat 5.00am ... .

Have ordered my hire of TENS machine and am praying it will help me out this labour - and am off to buy some RLT and arnica tablets this pm.

I had porridge for brekky too Scorpio - it seems to be my main craving in the mornings for the last couple of months (prob all the milk I mix in with it ... OH, and the golden syrup ). Sounds like you have a lovely day planned with a lunch date and yoga. I am meeting up with a fellow kiwi (who is also preggers) on Friday at Petersham Nurseries (lovely cafe) for a chat and catch up - can't wait.

Hope everyone else is cool too.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 05/03/2008 09:49

LOL PAL - my complaint too! Managed to however get a breastfeeding nightie and nightgown in ... wait for it... BLACK! From Mothercare. But I also really want some PJ's in a dark colour too, so if any of you manage to find some, please let me know! Ta!

northeastmummy · 05/03/2008 09:54

Ellie that's brilliant! What goes on in our heads when we're pregnant!? Help yourself to mini eggs - PFJ must be sleeping, must just make sure we keep a couple for when she wakes up .

I SO wish I liked porridge. I must try it again soon and see if I can build up a taste for it.

Sorry to hear you had insomnia last night TMP - I can sympathise. That's the one thing I've really suffered from both pregnancies. Had a full nights sleep last night though thank goodness.

SuzeM · 05/03/2008 09:55

Ellie, v. bizarre dream!

I have had no cravings at all, very boring really.

I started my NCT classes last night; I was a bit wary but thought it was really good. My dh arrived late but at least he turned up. He looked petrified.

Just 3.5 weeks left of work, yay! I am starting to feel quite tired now but have found a cleaner (a male cleaner, how?s that for equal opportunity!) so at least I no longer have to hoover.

PAL, looks like you have a design idea for a PJ range on your hands.

I sent off the forms to claim maternity allowance a couple of weeks ago; does anyone know how long the job centre takes to get back to you with the decision?

Peachy · 05/03/2008 10:03

I wish I'd had this baby early

Just got back from MW check, all OK- scan next week to check presentation JIC [h,mm] and because surprise surprise he's nto growing as fast now. Given the initial prediction was 9.5lbs, and the heaviest of my 3 so far was 7lb 4, am hardly keeling over with shock and awe LOL!

Sorry not beena round- had another huge fight withs chool (sigh) and was a bit upset, but that should all be sorted today fingers crossed.

northeastmummy · 05/03/2008 10:05

Welcome back Peachy - you were missed . I hope you're feeling ok about school - it just shouldn't be this hard ...

northeastmummy · 05/03/2008 10:23

Oh crumbs - just had a quick look at some of the other ante natal threads. I know that someone's already pointed this out but it's just really struck me. We're next!!! Aaaaarrrggghh!!!

SuzeM · 05/03/2008 10:27

Haha Northeastmummy, my feelings exactly.
Sorry the school are giving you a hard time, Peachy.

KnitterInTheNW · 05/03/2008 10:38

I had the wierdest dream last night, my sister took the baby for a walk when he was just a few days old, and just disappeared. wasn't answering her phone or anything. Then she turned up really late at night, pissed, with a load of friends. The car seat was in the car she was in but the baby was in another car. And she'd been feeding it apple juice all day. Very odd.

Peachy · 05/03/2008 10:44

Suze this is the meeting where it could all be solved so..... fingers crossed eh? We're asking for a place at SN school, will have to see.

SuzeM · 05/03/2008 10:51

That would be great, Peachy, good luck.

Soph73 · 05/03/2008 11:08

Morning all. Nice to hear from you Peachy, hope you get everything sorted soon. LOL at Ellie's dream. PAL -you should definately design some PJ's for us. Somebody send me some virtual creme eggs (we don´t get them here) as it´s all I keep thinking about We get mini eggs so they'll have to do

Sal22 · 05/03/2008 12:06

LOL Ellie. Strange dreams seem to be all around!

Ooh yes, whoever finds decent dark PJ's will be my hero, I've only got one set that's mildly suitable for hospital, and even that's in pale blue bottoms... And apparently I need to stay in for 4 days, so should really be making a plan soon.

Went to theatre last night - was very good (The Hired Man), but man, did I make a spectacle of myself?! I cried my eyes out, sat there having trouble seeing the actors... Obviously no-one else was crying! Think I should avoid anything more stirring than, say, Walt Disney (and even that might be risking it) in public for the short term future.

Have a lovely day, S.

SuzeM · 05/03/2008 12:09

Here are PJs with dark bottoms.

PortAndLemon · 05/03/2008 12:12

Just had growth scan. Still on for the VBAC, although admittedly the ease of that decision is probably partially because the doctor didn't read the scan results properly -- the current estimated fetal weight is 7.5lb and from what he said he read that as being the projected birth weight (they were rushed off their feet as there were due to be three doctors in but they were down to one, but still you'd have thought he'd have looked at all the heading-towards 95th percentile crosses on the charts and thought "doesn't really tally with a 7.5lb birth weight").

Good news is that the measurement at the highest percentile is the femur length, which suggests that she's longer than she is fat and hence that she's just a reasonably large baby rather than big because of the GD, and she's looking likely to be smaller than DS was. My blood sugars are generally well under control, although I have been leaking small amounts of glucose in my urine at my last two appointments. This doctor didn't seem bothered by that, though, given the blood sugars were OK.

Ellie - a baby will latch onto a nose given half a chance. I knew a new father who got a big blood blister on the end of his nose from leaning too close to his newborn DD and experiencing that powerful suck (and you're right, I think it did hurt).

VictorianSqualor · 05/03/2008 12:17

PAL,Do you know how to read those growth scan thingymijigs then?
All I know is mine is on the 'large side' but 'following the centile'.

Sal22 · 05/03/2008 12:20

Thanks, SuzeM

PortAndLemon · 05/03/2008 12:32

Mine has graphs with 5%, 50% and 95% lines on for Biparietal diameter (just below 50% line, same as 21 week scan), Head circumference (about halfway between 50% and 95% lines, same as 21 week scan), Abdominal circumference (a bit more than halfway between 50% and 95% lines, down from 21 week scan), Femur length (bang on 95% line, up from 21 week scan) and Estimated fetal weight (slightly below 95% line, not measured at 21 week scan). Estimated fetal weight is also stated as 3400g. Looking ahead to 40 weeks, an equivalent percentile would put birth weight at somewhere around 8.5-9 pounds, I think, which from my point of view is a diddy little baby .

northeastmummy · 05/03/2008 12:38

Ha ha PAL - a baby will latch onto anything if it's hungry enough won't it? I remember my DH having some very shiny love bites from DD .

That's good news about your VBAC too. How are you getting on with your GI diet by the way?

I had the midwife this morning and baby is head down with her back to the right side of my tummy, bum under my ribs (that's what was getting in the way!!) and her legs stretched right out across the top of my bump. She thinks she's not very big given her position so I'm quite happy about that - just from the purely selfish view of getting her out of course.

Those PJ's look just about right Suze! I wonder if they sell them in the Mothercare shop or just online. I'll go and have a look.

VictorianSqualor · 05/03/2008 12:47

Hmm, mine just has 3rd,50th and 75th centiles, and head circumference, abdo circumferencefemur in mm, and umbilical artery.
On head circ it has gone from just above 3rd centile at 20weeks, to 50th centile at 24wks, and then 97th centile at 32 weeks.
Abdo has stayed at 97tth pretty much all the way, as has femur.
