OMFG

forgot to tell you ....

My parents live in a big georgian house on the sea front. Last night someone got in the house and went all the way up to my little sis room (18), he sat on her bed and asked for 'internet' (not good english - Asian). She screamed but no-one heard, she is on 3rd floor. He left her room and went down stairs in to my other sis room (21) and started asking her - she was naked in bed apparently so couldnt run out. My 18 yr old sister upstairs rang the home phone, but no-one heard. My 21 yr sister screamed for my Dad (very big man) but he didnt hear until man had run out of house. Nothing touched or stolen. Was plenty of cash out, mums bag, i-pod station and 2 laptops. None touched at all. Scary - he was in the rooms of my sisters, and no-one would have known anything till too late. Thank God he didn't harm them.

Soph73 · 04/03/2008 13:38

Scorpio - why does that not surprise me And why are you still eating healthily, can you pass some of your good practices over to me pleeeeaaasssee! Ellie - we don´t get free PG dental care either, although this time did get one free clean.

scorpio1 · 04/03/2008 13:40

Soph73 · 04/03/2008 13:40

scorpio1 · 04/03/2008 13:41

bunnyrabbit · 04/03/2008 13:43

bunnyrabbit · 04/03/2008 13:45

OMG!! Scorpio, are your sisters OK???

scorpio1 · 04/03/2008 13:47

Yeah, the 21 yr old is hard as nails, but the other one is a bit shaken up.

bunnyrabbit · 04/03/2008 13:48

Bloody hell that must have been scarey.

Poor things.....

Soph73 · 04/03/2008 13:49

True, Scorpio. I´ve been fairly good so far today. I´ve just had a jacket potato with cheese and salad. I had cornflakes & tea for brekkie but did have a huge slice of raspberry cheesecake at 10.15am But for me that's bloody brilliant

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 04/03/2008 13:55

Our sandwiches were almost spot on Scorpio! However I did just eat a really yummy chocolate mouse cake! Delish!

Sorry to hear your family had such a scary experience - must have been awful How did he get in?

Right, got my arnica and raspberry leaf pills - when do I need to start taking them?

Soph73 · 04/03/2008 13:59

M2B2BR - I think it´s about 36 weeks when you can start taking them but could be earlier. Must have a scooch round the health food shops over here to see if they do such stuff.

scorpio1 · 04/03/2008 14:00

if not soph, maybe we can send you some?

bunnyrabbit · 04/03/2008 14:01

'scuse my ignorance, but what are the raspberry leaf and Arnica pills for?

BR

Sal22 · 04/03/2008 14:09

I asked midwife at yesterday's appointment about the arnica, and she said I can start taking it now (35 weeks). It's supposed to help with bruising, so you heal a lot quicker.

I'm sure someone said before, but I can't remember - what's rasberry leaf for again?

Soph73 · 04/03/2008 14:15

Scorpio - that would be great I´ll have a look this weekend and then let you know Sal22 - read this

EllieG · 04/03/2008 14:16

I think it prepares your uterus or something, makes it stretchy. But someone else will tell you better.

scorpio - bloody hell, that's scary! Hope your sisters are OK

scorpio1 · 04/03/2008 14:18

Yeah Ellie they are OK - just can't figure out what he wanted.

RL tones your uterus.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 04/03/2008 14:18

Oooh - how - just noticed my spelling mistake above - that should read mousse not mouse!

VictorianSqualor · 04/03/2008 14:25

I've been taking rlt tablets for weeks.
Apparently you shoudln't start taking arnica yet because it can make it worse.
Says so here

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 04/03/2008 14:32

Hmm - so maybe I should save them for after the birth then?

ThePFJ · 04/03/2008 14:44

Arnica is for after.. to help your 'bits' heal after the trauma.
Raspberry leaf: start taking the tablets (apparently better than the tea) from 34 weeks. It is recommended by loads of mums and MW's. It is connected with shorter labours, less painful and traumatic labours, and non-late labours. RL is good for your uterus muscles, helps them flex etc. Because of the non-late labours thing, you can not take it before 34 weeks just in case you go into labour early... I think.
I am awake now. Some religious people just woke me up knocking at my door. I was really deeply sleeping too...

Sal22 · 04/03/2008 14:47

hmm, that's worrying, I almost bought some this morning... I'll now wait for later then.

Thanks for the info on RL too everyone. Soph, I'll read your link tonight, it's blocked at work - apparently sexual nature, haha. I've done the handover to my replacement, but still have to be at work every day for the rest of March to check her work and help when things go wrong - I could almost do with a website with sexual nature, haha (just joking!) I'm struggling to stay awake...

VictorianSqualor · 04/03/2008 14:52

LOL@sexual nature, it's a site called 'Birthing Naturally!'

EllieG · 04/03/2008 14:55

Will start taking RL this week then.
When should you start with the black cohosh?

PFJ - I take it they had no luck converting you then?
