Ah that's nice. So all is peace and love in the scorpio household.

scorpio1 · 21/02/2008 09:56

Yes and Reilly's behaviour is better too, he is very happy to be back at school.

I think im starting to get that awful tiredness....like 1st trimester. anyone else?

EllieG · 21/02/2008 10:08

Glad Reilly is more settled - perhaps change in routine upsets him a bit. DSD is much more chilled this week. We had a good chat about her Mum and this book thing and she is being much calmer now.

Yep. This week is a bit better but last week I was shattered. Had to get signed off a couple of weeks ago just to catch up on sleep.

Been upstairs but they're all in their team meeting. Will catch 'em later.

I really cannot be bothered with work today. Is a shame people keep being horrid to their children. Have to go find a 16 year old somewhere to live now though am very tired so is most inconveniant.

See you all later.

Mollyfloss · 21/02/2008 10:17

Waking up so much at night was what was making me so tired but since I started wearing flight socks that's helped as I don't have to get up and get the circulation going in my legs. I still wake up with aching hips but it's not as bad... I'm off to the swimming pool now. It should help with my lower back pain!

KnitterInTheNW · 21/02/2008 10:27

I've got an MW appt at 12:15, wonder which way round junior will be this week? MW said he was head down 2 weeks ago, and he was breech at my scan last week. I'm going into town afterwards to get a load of birthday cards and presents for march and april, it's DHs bday a month-ish after my induction, and thought it would be a good idea to get pressies and cards and everything for all birthdays for a couple of months, in case I can't sneak out to get stuff if I end up having a c/s (50% risk apparently). I'm going to the library too, been reading a lot during the night when I'm awake and it's the only thing that doesn't make me more awake and fairly likely to be able to get back to sleep again.

I'll also go and get some cheerleaders pompoms for us all so we can cheer Scorpio on with getting her assignment done, maybe we should just do sitting down dancing though, the sight of a load of very pregnant ladies doing high kicks (well trying to) may be a bit much for a lot of people!

ToastAddict · 21/02/2008 10:37

Re: fish oils - we should avoid e.g. cod liver oil, as it contains vitamin A in huge doses, as Ellie said. But "omega 3" type supplements are fine and recommended - both pregnacare and sanatogen do their own versions, and supermarkets do their own brands too.

I have to take mine at night, just before I go to bed, otherwise think I will vomit if I have the misfortune to burp in the next three hours!! Fishy burps are not good!

My fingers have gone all puffy But I don't get it, my BP was soooo low last week, how can I have fluid retention as well??????

OP posts:
EllieG · 21/02/2008 11:02

Mine are puffy too. I think I am just hot.

Sal22 · 21/02/2008 11:19

Ah damn, Ellie, you just cheered me up because I've thought I've now got the perfect reason (in writing!) to stop taking them, but then (and thanks for the info ToastAddict) realised the ones I'm taking are Pregnacare's omega 3 type (the box comes with the normal ones and those). And yep TA, it's the "fishy burps" (sorry..., hope no-one's eating right now!) that's killing me! I might try them at night though. Thanks all. However, if any new research shows that omega 3 now also bad, PLEASE tell me immediately (here's hoping, hehe)

Peachy · 21/02/2008 11:31

You know that you can take flax seed oil for Omega's without the fishy effects, right? DS1 takes them as an alternative.

PortAndLemon · 21/02/2008 12:05

I was hugely puffy last time, even though my blood sugar was fine. This time, no puffiness yet (hurrah!). I think the recommendation for water retention is (perversely) to drink more water?

EllieG · 21/02/2008 12:25

Just went to chiropractor again - she is a monster but it does seem to work. Hips are much easier

scorpio1 · 21/02/2008 12:26

also no puffiness here, fingers crossed. had a lovely (very strong ) coffee and piece of cake in nice cafe in town.

Went to the library but no social work books! may have to make extra trek to uni next week sometime...or ask DH to drive me there after work one day. its only 14 mles from home but takes an hour on public transport!!

I do however know what i have to do now so feel better.

Whats for lunch? Me: tomato and bean soup, cheese sarnie and fruit. possible muffin.

have just realised the greatness of internet banking - wow i dont even have to leave the house to pay bills now!!

baby shop sent me a note today - my pushchair is in now but i dont have money for it for at least 4 weeks £400 left to pay. i did however tell them i wouldnt have it until the end of march anyway, but am hoping to get it on the 15th march. (not counting honest lol)

TheMaskedPoster · 21/02/2008 12:34

Yum to coffee and cake Scorpio

I had a roast chicken and salad sandwich for lunch (and some dried apricots). Had my blood taken again by Midwife today as it was just above border-line last time (fingers crossed it's ok). Measuring fine, blood pressure fine etc so I am happy.

Went and ordered our pram yesterday so as to stop me changing my mind (have had about 7 on a short list for ages). We finally settled on an 'Out n About - nipper 360 which does everything we want for the bargain price of £179.99. Pick up date is 25th March and like you Scorpio I'm not counting down the days at all!!

scorpio1 · 21/02/2008 12:36

do you get car seat with that or seperate? looks nice i love baby shopping!

I just have baby gym & monitor to buy. i am going to get one of those pad monitors from ebay.

SuzeM · 21/02/2008 12:38

Internet banking is fab.

I feel really wrecked today, I couldn't get comfortable (may need to buy a big pillow)and keep getting reflux despite eating very little. I had such an easy time until now, I've been spoiled. It was a real effort to come in to work, I can't wait to finish working (5 and a bit weeks to go ).

At least it is Friday tomorrow, I have another scan and my friend is coming over for the weekend, so lots of nice food and trips to the Kings road on the horizon!

I'm doing first aid tonight but I just want to go home and sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

scorpio1 · 21/02/2008 12:39

does anyone feel breathless?last night we ewere in bed (just sitting watching telly before you all ask) and i just couldn't breathe until i got on all fours.

TheMaskedPoster · 21/02/2008 12:41

ah yes - love baby shopping too!

No car seat with this pram - but still have one from last time so am going to just have to lift baby out of car and into pram etc. I have ummm-ed and ahhh-ed over travel systems but finally decided that we will have to survive with moving baby in and out.

Have to have a look in the garage for the baby gym and other baby apparatus - although am tempted to get some fab new stuff as there is SOOOOO much out there!

Mind you - will prob have to be good as the Gas bill arrived today and just paid for 12 months road tax for DH's van .

TheMaskedPoster · 21/02/2008 12:42

oh and yes - Internet banking is a wonderful invention!

SuzeM · 21/02/2008 12:56

I like the stroller, TheMaskedPoster. It is quite similar to the one I bought.

TheMaskedPoster · 21/02/2008 13:00

Thanks Suze - hopefully it will meet all expectations and last the distance

sagitta · 21/02/2008 13:14

Hi everyone. I've taken your advice and not bought the neighbour's car - but have just spent £2500 on another one. I'm feeling very poor, and a bit scared in case its crap and I've been fiddled, again....

For those still looking for baby stuff, our freecycle site has loads of baby stuff, so your probably does too. Might be worth a try, especially for clothes and baby gyms etc. I got a steriliser last week. If you don't know about it, just register at www.freecycle.org/groups/unitedkingdom

Scorpio - I'm really breathless too..I feel like a really really old woman.

KnitterInTheNW · 21/02/2008 13:34

Back from MW, little tinker is still head up with his back curved round my left side. Measuring between 33 & 34 weeks so spot on.

I've been breathless sometimes, normally when I'm leaning back and I think the baby's just squishing my lungs. sitting up or leaning forward normally helps.

I have a new craving, sparkling water! Dampens down indigestion very nicely. Can't get enough of it, and I couldn't stand it before I was pg.

TLSM · 21/02/2008 13:37

TheMaskedPoster oh I had one of those in red for Max i got it when it first came out my DH says its the best pushchair he has ever had (becuase he used it soooo much not )really light and very easy to push it was really nice but at 2.5 Max's head rubbed on the hood so i sold mine and got a stroller.

Piccalilli2 · 21/02/2008 13:40

Hello all, not been on for ages so will try to catch up properly later.

Has anyone else's bump dropped? Mine dropped noticeably at the weekend, now I'm getting panicked this means the baby is going to come early.

Other than that, I'm feeling very neglected as I haven't seen a midwife since 28 weeks and not seeing her for another 2 weeks!

TheMaskedPoster · 21/02/2008 13:46

ah - that is good to know TLSM - we have ordered the red too (although we don't know if it is a girl or boy - tis lovely and bright)

My bump seems low, but midwife didn't mention it being low iyswim. Baby is still head down and has been pretty much since about 24 weeks from what I can remember.

Why so long between appointments Piccalilli2?
