Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
scorpio1 · 20/02/2008 15:54

lol

i have PSB syndrome though. (2nd born)

scorpio1 · 20/02/2008 15:54

me and VS will be weaning on all sorts of crap at 6 months, lol.

McD's Millie??? Milkshake? Nugget?

TLSM · 20/02/2008 15:55

Lol VS oh the days!

VictorianSqualor · 20/02/2008 15:56

Ha, too true scorpio.
Look , babies like quavers!
WTF is wrong with fruit shoots?

I thin I had PFS(on) syndrome with DS

Mollyfloss · 20/02/2008 15:57

Thanks VS & Scorpio, it was a fairly small Boots so maybe that's why. I'll try another one. Great looking buggy! and I love all the pics on your profile, very cute

I'm almost finished washing all the baby bits and pieces and then I can get on to packing the baby's bag and my own. I have over 7 weeks to go so I'm being a little over cautious. Think I have that PFB syndrome too...

sagitta · 20/02/2008 15:58

I never really got PFB syndrome.
Am worried that my already low standards will fall further

I read this on MN:
When PFB swallows a coin you rush straight to casualty
When dc 2 swallows a coin you wait for it to come out the other end
When DC3 swallows a coin, you deduct it from their pocket money

scorpio1 · 20/02/2008 15:58

DH wil have PFBD(aughter) syndrome will Mills, deffo. He is already saying you better not shout at her and saying that she is not going in the naughty corner for thinking time, ever. OH YEAH???

I will do a few baby only meals to put in freezer but most of the time she will have what we have just mashed a bit and shoved in a bowl in front of her, lol. oh and the occasionnal jar - im only human!

Mollyfloss · 20/02/2008 16:02

I think my DH already has PFB syndrome. the whole time throughout this pregnancy he's asking, 'are you sure you can eat that', 'are you sure you can use that cream', 'I think you should call the Doctor before doing that' etc. When DD comes along I think he is going to be even worse... still it's better that way than not giving a damn...

Mollyfloss · 20/02/2008 16:05

Oh and he is already going on about how our kids will never set foot in Mc D's and TV time will be very limited etc. I think he's in for quite a shock... I have a niece and nephew and I'm a little bit more clued in about the reality (although not that much!)

EllieG · 20/02/2008 16:17

Oh no, I think I already have that!
Have read many books and am giving DP lectures on the best way to do things even though he has done it before and generally being all 'my baby is perfect' at him.
Oh dear.

Lennsuey · 20/02/2008 16:17

I can sympathise with that one Mollyfloss! I live with 'The Food Police'! DH will not allow convenience food in the house, and definitely NO Mc Donalds! I feel i've got an intravenous drip attached to me feeding Innocent Smoothies! My friends joke he has an eating disorder!

EllieG · 20/02/2008 16:19

And have already started saying only want her watching 'good' programmes on tv and I play 'Mozart for minors' to my tummy on headphones as heard makes them brainier.

KnitterInTheNW · 20/02/2008 16:21

I'm interested to see just how PFBish I'll be, I've been looking after other people's babies for 15 years and am damn good at it but although they were 'my babies', this one really will be mine to do with what I want! I'll probably be a complete nightmare actually, and do all the stuff I've advised against to all my bosses!

EllieG · 20/02/2008 16:22

And I am CERTAIN I will only ever cook her organic home made stuff when weaning. My Mum suggested that I might get a few tins just encase of tiredness etc and not to make rod for own back and I was very

Oh god. What am I becoming?

sagitta · 20/02/2008 16:25

Then Ellie, one day you will be out and about and you will have forgotten your carefully prepared food, and you'll rush into the nearest corner shop and buy a jar of cow and gate slurry for babies (not organic), and from that point on, your standards will lapse

DD - who hasn't been in a McD's yet (apart from yesterday to use the toilet!), is obssessed with them because there is a big yellow "mummy's letter" above them all...

Mollyfloss · 20/02/2008 16:25

EllieG, I can empathise. I haven't started thinking about weaning yet but I'm a bit over the top on other things although I know this might change once reality hits in. Still, it's not so bad to set standards high from the beginning, even if they fall a bit you will still be doing pretty well

KnitterInTheNW · 20/02/2008 16:25

Lennsuey · 20/02/2008 16:26

EllieG, Mozart! Is your baby chilled out to those musical sounds? I'm a sound editor and am currently blasting my bump with all sorts of sound effects, i'm not sure it likes it!

Mollyfloss · 20/02/2008 16:27

What is it about Mc D's sign that gets kids going? My nephew has been once or twice max and he recognises that sign whenever they pass it and he's only 2!

sagitta · 20/02/2008 16:27

PS - I think its perfectly normal!

SuzeM · 20/02/2008 16:28

I'm laughing at the PFB comments. I already have an Annabel Karmel recipe book. We hate fast food so she won't be going to McDonalds or anywhere like that with us ... though no doubt her uncles will take pity on the poor child and take her!

Mollyfloss · 20/02/2008 16:30

Reminder to everyone to do their pelvic floor exercises. Go on, do twenty or so now!

VictorianSqualor · 20/02/2008 16:32

We are doing the cinema tomorrow with copious amounts of popcorn chocoalte and fizzy drinks, then off to Manky D's (as DS calls it)

I have absolutely no idea why any of you are talking about purees and organic mashed foods, haven't ya heard the new schmoo is BLW?? (babyledweaning), none of that puree stuff here, leave weaning til 6 months (As is the new reccomendation) and start straight on finger foods. Great stuff.

sagitta · 20/02/2008 16:35

What is BLW? I've only heard about it on MN...do you just give them anything from the start?
(I weaned DD at 4.5 months )

EllieG · 20/02/2008 16:36

Baby likes mozart, Jack Johnson and Damian Rice. She has mixed feelings about other things.

I like the idea of that VS - another thing to read up obsessively about in quest for perfect child. Poor thing.
