Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

VS - both names are lovely, will she be Lexie? (if indeed a she - cant wait to find out!!)

Knitter - fingers rossed.

Peachy - ooh exciting Millie isn't engaged yet; wonder if she will be at next check? (34+ weeks)

EllieG · 20/02/2008 14:10

Oh poor knitter. That is rubbish and horrid. Try not to worry about baby not having a room - we are in 2 bedroomed place and will be so for a year at least and kids can share when LO ok to. Your house will sell to someone, I bet it looks lovely and someone else will snap it up. Many hugs and chocolate to you x

scorpio - glad DH was so supportive, but none of this nonsense about you not deserving him please, you do. You are a lovely Mum and lovely wife and you deserve someone equally lovely back. If you can't manage without AD's doe last bit try not to worry, I have been on a low dose of prozac throughout and is safe for baby. GP said more dangerous for baby to have depressed Mum than Mum on AD's, so don't struggle if you can't cope x

scorpio1 · 20/02/2008 14:13

Ellie - i know its 'safe' but would rather not iyswim? DH said that it may get better because he is home; i always find it hard when he goes away i did buy a new bikini today so im at uni tomorrow but will go swimming friday morning when Jamie is at nursery.

Had to get a new bikini - my 'normal' one is a bit of string and i need something more to cover me now!! Got a tankini and briefs, size 12. fits lovely.

scorpio1 · 20/02/2008 14:14

We are also in 2 bedroom flat and this is baby number 3!! We will cope. Am very lucky that living areas are very big; kids bedroom is biggest bedroom and our room has enough room for a cot for 6 months

sagitta · 20/02/2008 14:23

Knitter - so sorry to hear that. But it may sell soon - estate agent might not just have been making you feel better. We don't know where we are going to put LO either if that helps...

KnitterInTheNW · 20/02/2008 14:27

I know, I know, we'll manage whatever happens. But I'd already moved into the other house in my head! It's not the living in this house that's bothering me, I know we have more than a lot of people and am grateful for that. It's just the whole keeping it looking nice enough for people to want to buy it thing that's getting to me most. The people in the house we want have said they'll give us a couple of weeks to see what interest we get in our house, and take it from there. Everything crossed!

Hopefully we'll be moved before junior needs a separate room, we kind of need a spare room as my parents live 100 miles away, and my dad's 73 now & it's getting too much for him to come up and go home on the same day.

VictorianSqualor · 20/02/2008 14:52

I know how you feel knitter, befroe we moved in ehre we went and saw a house we really liked, but it fell through really annoyed me as I was already to move in and was used to it as my new house.

We've just had a pisser about our house as well, we had a six month rental agreement but were told when we signed that after the six months we could get a 12 month or longer lease becasue the lanlady was lookign for longterm tenants.

Our tenancy ends next week and we have been trying to get hold of the landlady, as had the letting agents and now she has decided that instead of a new tenancy she wants it to just become a rolling month-to-month tenancy so we have no idea how long we can stay here.

Also there is a small plot of land attached to our house which she had tried to get planning permission for to build a one bed property, but got refused and yesterday the appeal committee was round to reassess it so I get the impression us staying here all depends on whether she gets planning permission or not.

We know she'll only want us out if she sells but it's still a PITA not knowing one way or the other.

VictorianSqualor · 20/02/2008 14:56

I meant to say my buggy has just arrived

scorpio1 · 20/02/2008 14:56

oh FFS

have twice emailed head of course @ uni to say i am returning this week, and when/where is my lecture tomorrw.

no reply.

am inclined to think fuck going tbh; but have so muuch to do before Millie comes. I may just go in to use library for a few hours....

scorpio1 · 20/02/2008 14:57

oooh new buggy, link please!

Mollyfloss · 20/02/2008 15:12

Knitter: what a pain that guy pulled out of buying the house! You poor thing. Cry as much as you feel like. I bet they are tears of frustration, that would drive me beserk! Fingers crossed the owners of your new house will hold on. We're just renting and moved back at the beginning of December and I just wanted it over and done with and to be settled in the new place so I can imagine how you feel at this stage...

Mum2b: Don't worry about not having a huge appetite. You could be like me and eat your way through anything. My DH calls me 'the machine'

Scorpio: Don't be shy about getting all the help you can get. Depression of any kind needs to be dealt but I think you know that... Hope you enjoy swimming. Sport often can help a bit, gets the endorphins going...

I dreamt of Matt Damon last night. I Luurrrrrrve Matt Damon... I'm purposely not telling you all of my dreams every day as they are too weird for words... but the Matt Damon one was nice...

EllieG · 20/02/2008 15:34

I think Matt Damon looks like some kind of animal. And not in a good way. His eyes are too small.

sagitta · 20/02/2008 15:35

VS - is your landlady allowed to do that? I am sure if you insist on a contract you can have one...probably best ask advice from someone who knows on another thread, but i think tenants get better rights than that...

Mollyfloss · 20/02/2008 15:37

I agree he's not good looking in a classical way, but there's just something about him.... ;-)

I went into Boots today to get some maternity pads as advsed by many of you but all they had were these stay dry pads and pants... I think they are more for bladder weakness etc. That's not what I need though is it?

VictorianSqualor · 20/02/2008 15:42

No Molly, you need specific maternity pads I can;t believe they didnt have any! Not even in the baby section?these are what you're looking for.

My buggy, hmm, I can't fnd any nice pics of it so I took my own so buggy with car seat on it and buggy with chair bit on

Sagitta, they can do it unfortunately, they will have to give us two months notice if they want us to leave which is the same with any tenancy so we'll still have the same time to move out but it just pisses me off not having a ballpark date you know?

scorpio1 · 20/02/2008 15:44

yep, thats the pads! AT LEAST 2 packs, should be 4-6 really.

Nice buggy; it looks so new!!!

scorpio1 · 20/02/2008 15:45

oh and you will need to change them often, like really often to promote healing and obviously cleanliness. and don't forget to change them at night when you are up with baby

VictorianSqualor · 20/02/2008 15:47

I know, I keep stroking it!!
I got my cot bale today as well and am desperate to make the cot up but the mattress isnt here yet

When I took those photos I found one I took of DS the other morning, he looks so smiley so I put it on myprofile (the 2nd pic).

EllieG · 20/02/2008 15:47

ooo lovely buggy!
I have packed my labour bag. Is more like labour suitcase as have enough stuff to last me about 2 weeks in hospital I think, 'just encase'

Precious first born.
A well known MN phenomenon.
