Hope this works - and someone finds it

scorpio1 · 18/02/2008 15:08

i actually LOL'ed

DH has been most keen to make sure i know that is happening today

EllieG · 18/02/2008 15:08

Sometimes a hug is the only thing that will do. If Reilly's sleeping, put kettle on and leave anything else you were going to do - feet up and cuppa. And biscuit or 3. DH is going to be home later and then will feel much more managable.

EllieG · 18/02/2008 15:11

X-post there. Sometimes bit more than a hug is good too obviously!

scorpio1 · 18/02/2008 15:12

hee hee

am not going to do much more; just make osme dinner later but thats easy today, am having salmon & veg so quick and easy.

Bainmarie · 18/02/2008 15:30

Hello ladies, how are you all? Haven't been able to post for ages, DH and DS have been taking it in turns to be ill and I am knackered! Pleased to see that I am not the only non-driver on here, but have my test tomorrow (eek) so keep your fingers crossed for me, esp as I get the impression that instructors are unwilling to give you your test when you are much past 34 weeks...
Hope you have a nice relaxing afternoon scorpio1 (and night)

There are no biscuits in the house or choc (am trying to be healthy, but it just means we go to corner shop more....)

PortAndLemon · 18/02/2008 16:24

My mother passed her test when 39+6 with me! (the examiner looked terrified throughout and did do the emergency stop right outside the hospital, though ). Fingers crossed for you!

Bainmarie · 18/02/2008 16:28

That is good to know! Thanks for fingers crossed {smile]

EllieG · 18/02/2008 16:36

Best of luck bainmarie! Will be sending positive vibes for you tomorrow x

EllieG · 18/02/2008 18:17

This is an ode to knitter.....

I sent you the cheque this morning and was very excited but expected the post to take ages but then when I got home....

My blanket was here!

And not only my blanket but a dear little hat!

AND some little toys for DSD!

You are a lovely mumsnetter and a lovely person and the little hat made me cry with it's sweetness. And the blanket is beautiful - so cosy and gorgeous and got all welled up again thinking about my LO all snuggly in it. And DP is now very impressed by the skillfulness of MN ladies and said 'Bloody hell that's a good blanket she must like knitting' which is High Praise Indeed.

So thank you, it's all gorgeous and you win a prize for being the most skilled knitter anywhere, not just the NW.

scorpio1 · 18/02/2008 18:22

Millie has got big hiccups

She's so cute.

EllieG · 18/02/2008 18:27

Aw...

I went to chiropractor today to help with hips and ribs and ever since elliebean has been so wiggly!
Lady said the treatment would help her move into the right position too, which is good.

scorpio1 · 18/02/2008 18:29

hopefully it will work. can't believe how close we are now.

the other day i found our first thread for due in April and i posted about 30 mins after i got bfp seems like an age ago but also only 5 mins. I could have my baby in 6 weeks [weird]

KnitterInTheNW · 18/02/2008 19:02

Wow Ellie I didn't expect it to arrive so quickly either!

I'm really pleased you like it, and I shall now go away and sit with a swelled head for a while and feel rather chuffed with myself for being so clever, hee hee!

If you think about it and don't mind, could you send me a photo with your bundle under the blanket please? I like to keep pictures of things I've made, but was so eager to get it posted I forgot to take one before it went!

Denny185 · 18/02/2008 19:17

Well Ellie that was way better than cake to put a back on your face again.

SuzeM · 18/02/2008 20:26

Good luck in your driving test, Bainmarie!

chipmonkey · 18/02/2008 23:54

Bainmarie, if I could pass my test, anyone can! ( it took me 4 times!)

EllieG · 19/02/2008 08:37

I will certainly do that knitter. I kept getting it out last night and going to DP 'Ooo it's all lovely and cosy isn't it?' until he said I was getting obsessed and took it away from me.

EllieG · 19/02/2008 08:38

Oh and best of luck bainmarie!

Mollyfloss · 19/02/2008 08:41

Morning ladies!

Bainmarie, good luck for your driving test. I did mine 7 years ago in Paris which was a really bad idea. 3rd lesson trying to drive around the infamous arc de triomphe. Right hand side driving quite taunting too. Each time I did my test was a joke as I wasn't ready at all. I finally got it on the 4th go! and since then I have used my licence about 5 times... still I'm glad to have it now that I'm having a baby as you never know when I might need a car. I think it's really important to be able to drive.

My NCT classes start this morning. i'm quite excited about them!

Sheds75 · 19/02/2008 09:03

mollyflos, can't believe you did your driving test in Paris, that must have been scary. I too am starting classes today, my DP is even taking the afternoon off to come aswell

TLSM · 19/02/2008 09:04

Good Luck with the test Brinmarie!

Mollyfloss · 19/02/2008 09:10

I have 5, 2hr morning NCT classes for just the ladies and 3, 2hr evening classes for couples. It's quite a lot of classes but i reckon I need it!

I have started wearing flight socks at night which has really helped with my circulation. I still wake up just as much because of the stiffness in my hips from being too long on my side but at least it doesn't take as long to go back to sleep as my circulation is a lot better. Just thought I'd let you all know in case any of you are having the same problem

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 19/02/2008 09:24

Good luck Bainmarie - let us know how you get along!

Enjoy your classes Molly. I decided against NCT (mainly cos they were soooo expensive) and have gone for hypnobirthing instead, which I reckon will be far more useful for me and DH. Am still going to an antenatal class - a privately run one by midwives and is only costing a fraction of what NCT charge - £50 a couple! What I have found to be really nice though is that even though I didn't sign up for NCT classes, because I showed interest, they now have me on their email and mail list - so I get invited to all sorts of things - have been invited to a coffee morning, a wine tasting and to a bumps n' babies morning! So as soon as maternity leave starts, I will def start accepting some of these invites!

Denny185 · 19/02/2008 09:30

Morning all, NCT do great 2nd hand sales and if your a member you ger to go in an hour early and grab the bargins.

Just been nosing some of the other threads and someones waters have broken from the March thread .

TLSM · 19/02/2008 09:37

oh god Denny its all becoming so much closer although i still have 7 weeks left at work and they are now talking about moving offices before i go so loads more work for me on top of getting everything ready for when I leave

I had a horrible night last night I think Tom was having a going to get exicted soon party he must have turned about three times which took my breath away each time my poor DH thought I was going into labour bless him had anyone else had a sensation of loads of pressure down below it was quite scary!

Oh and i got a new pushchair last night an icandy apple (I am in love)
