scorpio1 · 19/02/2008 09:40

DH is home but at work today. I am kiddy-free until 3.15pm, wahoo!!

Denny185 · 19/02/2008 09:41

Yes I get that too, when walking feels like the baby is sitting really deep down in the back of my pelvis. Generally ok if sitting round being lazy, great excuse.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 19/02/2008 09:47

Ahh yes - for me it feels like baby is headbutting my pelvis - very strange feeling!

TLSM - I got the iCandy Cherry the other day and love it too!! We did think about the Apple but it was just too heavy for me - but it is gorgeous!

Peachy · 19/02/2008 10:13

Scorpio you'll be a fab Mum to 3. reilly is going througha lot at the moment- he's old enough to understand the assessment, and half term, and the new baby- and it's enough to deal with one of those things at a time. Your parenting after the baby may not be identical to otehrs but thats OK, if you have a kid with any SN you need to build your own way (so whilst I know baby would develop better sleep habits if I put him down at 7 each night upstiars, i also know I couldnt keep him safe so there will be a crib in the front room for until i go to bed). Take it a step at a time and work out what YOUR family needs. And fgs don't compare yourself to others whilst you do it! I'll get immense pride just by getting the kids to school- if their ties occasionally have yesterdays stickers on or I forget to sign their homework diary, so what?

Peachy · 19/02/2008 10:16

Oh I got stopped several times over yesterday by school Mums shocked how much i'd grown in a week! they were all convinced I am full term now and the security guards / PR girl at Dyson all looked very nervous when i went to get my vacuum.....

Yet still just under 6 weeks left!

My friend had a baby girl over half term, Alexia. haven't seen her yet but am very - just want to hold this one now.

DH is convinced I'll be early, I bet I shall be late and totally immobile (having bad hip problems now)

TLSM · 19/02/2008 10:26

Oh Oh Oh peachy how did the dyson collection go how long where you in there and what one did you get cant wait to pick mine up on Friday

Peachy · 19/02/2008 10:29

I gotr the upright big ball . We weren't there that long- half an hour? Others got a full tour but we ahd kids to collect.

It is truly a fab machine.

TLSM · 19/02/2008 10:44

ohhhhh

VictorianSqualor · 19/02/2008 11:27

My cot is here!! Yay!!
Gonna put it togetehr and see if it's the right height for the ebd now, if not then I'll get DP to put new holes in for the base and it should all work out fine.

Peachy · 19/02/2008 12:37

Dh won't put the crib together until 37 weeks Grrr. But the cot that looks like an intray thing i linked to further down is due to be delivered today.

Have had a very bizarre, unprecedented cleaning frenzy all morning and am now shatterd and need a sleep LOL- nesting? Would be a first but I think it must be!
Also craving ice and had some delivered with my tesco delivery earlier, I know i shall be desperate for it in labour, and have already started on it

Have to do the surestart form later, and pack the non-labour bags. Wasn't going to bother, but if I did go into labour early then i don't want to be running around packing for the boys- and i think baby is getting to the size where he's going to need me to have changes of clothes ready, rather than be in hospital provided gowns.

scorpio1 · 19/02/2008 12:40

Thanks peachy

I think i am nesting too...

VictorianSqualor · 19/02/2008 12:44

Ah, yeah that's something I have to do still, make up a bag with some clothes and pjs in it for the DC's, I'm assuming that if they need bed they'll be bought back home as it's only half hour from DP's parents house so makes mre sense to put them in their own beds and his dad or brother sleep here rather than having to get out inflatable beds etc at their house which I reckon DP's dad would fail at anyway

I ordered my buggy this morning, it's coming tomorrow now, we decided on the fisher price voyage travel system, it's like a cross between the loola and the quinny, it folds down really well as well.

Still waiting for my cot mattress which means I can't actually make it up yet and I want to!

5weeks today until I get the CS pressure so am hoping I can make it come a little earleir, was thinking it will be just my luck to come on the 23rd march. That day we have to drive to northampton to pick up the kids from the x's family and there is no way I'm leaving them there if I go into labour, nor is there anyway I'm going to go to Northampton hospital this time so even if waters break and contractions have started I'll be crossing my legs all the way back to Oxford

sagitta · 19/02/2008 12:56

Hi all

you are all so organised - I haven't bought a thing yet! But then, I am one of the last on the list...

Hope your weekend was OK Scorpio - I was worried about you.

Had an amazing dinner out on Friday night - but weekend - and today a bit spoiled as our car decided it was time to die for ever. Cars seems a bit of a theme on this thread at the moment. We've got no food in the place, and I'm spending £16 a day on getting dd to nursery and back so need to buy another one ASAP.

What do you think - our neighbour is selling her ford fiesta for £200 (135,000 miles, big dent in back, non-matching panels), or should I buy a proper one, from garage etc etc?

EllieG · 19/02/2008 12:57

God it's getting close now isn't it?

I've bought the rest of the toiletries etc I need for labour bag today so will finish packing that when get home. Only need to buy nappies now and cot/crib sheets and am done. Still then have to wash everything and organise house and put cot together but that won't take too long (I hope).

Don't have to pack a bag for DSD as my Mum only lives about a minute's walk up the road, so she will just come down and look after her when I am in labour. If that's what the bag packing is for?

EllieG · 19/02/2008 13:00

A £200 car might not work for very long...

VictorianSqualor · 19/02/2008 13:08

135 miles is a lot of miles, especially on that kind of car, if it was a BMW or soemthing I'd say go ahead because they hold their own upto about 150k before problems start, but £200 isn't a huge deal of money, sometimes so if you can afford to pay that for a car that may only last a few months then go ahead.

I'm only spending about £500 on my first car, I'm happy to go to about 90k on the mileage.

sagitta · 19/02/2008 13:22

I'll sell you ours for £500, only 87,000 miles

scorpio1 · 19/02/2008 13:42

PLEASE don't say anything about cars breaking; it may make ours break!! (hoping it won't- its 2 years old!!)

I would get one from the garage personally if you can afford it

Sagitta - i was ok, just feeling very very lonely and a bit down. I have the MW 2 weeks weds - wondering if i should tell her? i have felt under a cloud for at least a fortnight now.

Am very tempted to get takeaway for dinner tonight.

scorpio1 · 19/02/2008 13:43

scorpio notes: hospital bag to get together.

TLSM · 19/02/2008 13:49

I have just won this car seat off ebay its soooo nice car seat and a right bargain!

scorpio1 · 19/02/2008 13:50

looks nice

TLSM · 19/02/2008 13:55

Oh also if anyone here wants the Buzz / zapp car seat adaptors you can have them as I wont need them

EllieG · 19/02/2008 14:21

I would mention it to MW scorpio - is not good to feel down like that and there might be some useful support out there, you never know til you ask. I am a bit of a loon at times and they have been very nice throughout this PG in making sure am not getting too mental. And consequently haven't, so I would chat through if I were you, and you have a nice MW. It is important to find someone nice and understanding to talk to.

TLSM · 19/02/2008 14:25

Gosh Scorpio x posted with you wandered what Eliie was talking about! i would say something to the MW also have you got someone else you can talk to before then?

KnitterInTheNW · 19/02/2008 14:35

Hooray, my internet is working again!
Been up since 8, and it's just started working. Possibly a good thing that it stopped working though, as I've sorted our bedroom out ready to get a cot in a week or so. We had some wall ties put in yesterday and everything was filthy, so I've washed all the furniture and the floor, on my hands & knees as suggested by our NCT teacher! I moved chests of drawers around (carefully, emptying each drawer and sorting it out too so I wasn't carrying full, heavy things around) and put the changing table up. DH will prob tell me off when he gets back, but I feel much happier now it's all done. My back is very achey now though.
