Good morning all you creme egg lovers ( and those weird ones amongst us who don't appreciate them)

Good luck for all the scans coming up this week, and next.

Hi,
Great to see you back Looney

looneytune · 05/02/2008 18:55

dylansluckymum - must be hard when one wants to know and the other doesn't You'll have a nice surprise when the time comes though My best mate reminded me that her friend was supposed to be having a boy and was shocked when it came out a girl!

G43 - yep, another boy will be lovely Told ds now and he's ok about it, had a little face for a moment and then was ok when I started asking for name ideas from him. Unlike my 7 year old neice who apparently burst into tears and she wanted a girl cousin!!!

looneytune · 05/02/2008 18:56

libralady - HELLO How are you hun?

basilbrush · 05/02/2008 18:57

going for3 thought I might give up alcohol and goat's cheese actually. Oh yeah and cocaine

NH If PIL still around in 37 years time, it'd be a blooming miracle, they're 75....I think that's part of the problem, DH is youngest of 5 and 8 years older then me, his eldest bro is only 5 years younger than my own father! So they are more like grandparents generation to me...

Right must do some work for skool tomorrow. am soooo tired. maybe i need more pancakes and maple syrup

Rolf · 05/02/2008 18:58

Glad the Floradix is working G43.

NH - DH doesn't do "normal" criminal work but does do proceeds of crime work, so they probably do know each other . Yes, meeting up would be great.

PregnantPenguin · 05/02/2008 19:14

Thank you Rolf - took two paracentamol an hour ago and feel better already. Will stop being a matyr, me being in pain doesn't help the bump!

josey · 05/02/2008 19:20

Hello everyone has just taken ages to catch up.

G43 no way am I giving up chocolate sorry, but Im Scottish so apparently I have to give up carrier bags acording to the papers

Debs made pancakes after tea syrup and icecream here.

Ernest what fantastic news really pleased for you, hope you get your house sold quick and you can all be together soon.

Looney lovely to see you back and congrats on another boy.

BB I think you need a picture of your inlaws on a dart board nevermind a cushion, My MIL is hellish to say the least, she wont do anything round the house when she comes to stay but she does take over with the kids which can be worse than doing nothing at times, especailly when she says they are "HERS" humph!

Im usless when it comes to organic veg,(refuse to buy it from a supermarket) though there is a little farm just along the road that I must go to next to it in the summer there is a raspberry and strawberry place that sell the biggest and nicest rasps you have ever tasted.

I bought a support belt today very attractive, I feel like a body builder all strapped in hope it helps.

PP paracetamol is fine to take the normal dose of though recomened dont take longer than 5 days. I think if you are really bad(ask doc or mw) you can get co-codomol(sp)as they give you that in hospital. Hope it subsides soon.

libralady · 05/02/2008 19:34

Looney

How does it feel to be having another boy then?
It's ages until my scan (25th Feb) and by then I'll be 22 weeks! Can't make up my mind whether or not to find out. I think I would prefer to have another boy mainly as I don't do pink. I prefer rough and tumbles and having been there before I know where I am at iykwim. Plus I still have most of DS's clothes so would cut down on the expense.

But his pregnancy has been different so I can't help thinking this is pink in flavour. On the other hand SIL had really varying pregnancies and ended up with two girls!

Last time it was nice to find out at the birth as after finding out that the Tooth Fairy and Santa aren't real there aren't many surprises left in life.

Oh decisions decisions............

debinaustria · 05/02/2008 19:40

Projectile sick - from poor ds2, all over the new leather suite. To make things worse it has reclining seats, he was cuddled up with me on the edge of the seat so the sick went all over me, and down the divide between the 2 seats so puddle of sick underneath the settee, well, just everywhere really!! So he's been bathed, I've showered, clothes in the wash and the settee cleaned. At least we bought leather!!

He's now in bed with a bucket

G43 - giving up chocolate - oh yeah

debinaustria · 05/02/2008 19:42

Libra - I always wanted the surprise before but this time thought it would be great to know and to plan etc... but baby of course has different ideas and has been very coy.

sophiewd · 05/02/2008 19:52

libralady fab result on Saturday had 2 glasses of wine, one at start and one at end to celebrate.

NH101 - I am doing a proof reading course at the moment I need a week to get organised (Bully DH into putting up shleves) andthen can continue, I am nearly there.

Deb hope your DS is better soon, DD can't go to nursery tomorrow becasue of D&V she only has the D although running around like a mad person.

And to cap it all not only are we just inside the wild bird monitoring zone to the west of us because of bird flu we are now in the blue tongue monitoring zone to the East of us. We have a huge amount of dairy cows on the farms here and as of next month we have 2 batched of 800 ladies giving birth outside our bedroom window and I can't go near them this year.

looneytune · 05/02/2008 20:23

libralady - well, I was shocked at first but not upset, just happy he's healthy This pregnancy has been TOTALLY different than with ds (not feeling sick, into sweet stuff more than savoury etc) so was convinced was having a girl, felt like I was having a girl and thought I'd bonded with an 'Amelia' and then BANG, it's a boy Last night I was concerned it would bother me if I found out it was another boy but no, I am actually really happy about it so that's fab. Anyway, ever since being a childminder, I've mainly looked after girls (8 girls, 4 boys, last boy was a year ago) so another boy helps balance it out . With ds I was sure he was a boy all the way through and if I hadn't needed a scan a few days before he was born (it was obvious then!), I wouldn't have known until he was born. This time we did want to know but the main reason for me was to prepare ds for in case it wasn't a girl (he wanted a sister). Now I'm pleased I know as I feel somehow more bonded all of a sudden plus I can plan (I like to plan things! ). Anyway, sure you'll be happy whatever decision you make

debinaustria - that's sounds awful I must say I was pleased not to read that when I was still eating my pancakes though!

bitofadramaqueen · 05/02/2008 20:33

Is it only me or does anyone else find it hard to keep up with all the posts? Have just read two full pages since lunchtime and by the time I get to the post message stage I forget who said what. Am blaming pregnancy brain.

Josey - I'm Scottish too, what's all this about carrier bags? Haven't read a single paper today. Although I tend to avoid carrier bags as much as possible [saintly emoticon].

Definitely wont give up chocolate for Lent. Like basilbrush I'll give up cocaine and maybe brie and pate.

Jealous of all the pancake chat. Me and DH late home and were v hungry so had to have some soup before tea. I cant manage three courses so it was either the fish or pancakes. Nice fish . Will be having belated pancakes tomorrow though .

Congrats on those who've had scans and found out flavours.

Oh, nh101 I went to Preston too. Left in 97. I didn't do journalism though but knew lots of the Pluto people who did journalism. Am super paranoid about anyone in the real world recognising me on mn so wont say any more .

dylansluckymum · 05/02/2008 22:00

libralady i could have written your entire post! i almost feel like i should want a girl because everyone says, oh wouldn't it be nice to have one of each, but secretly i'm kind of hoping for another boy. and this pregnancy has been so completely different it's hard to even compare the 2! i desperately want to know but i also feel like there are so few surprises left in life and not knowing with ds made for pure magic when he was finally born!

so there you go, i'll wait. but of course i can only think of girl's names i like as well, and dh and i have such different taste we had a really hard time agreeing on dylan so how we'd come up with another boy name is beyond me.

btw has anyone tried the new 'panache' style maternity bras from mothercare? i was outgrowing my underwires so i thought i'd try them and they are a dream! they actually make you have nice shape instead of mono-boob. i'm going to get one of each colour now i think (probably in varying sizes!).

debinaustria · 06/02/2008 07:08

MOrning

You'll be pleased to hear there's been no more sick here but still got both boys off school, ds1 with a bit of a temp and cough, ds2 with a raging temp still , cough but no more sick.

goingfor3, I think we all have a duty to our unborn children to not give up chocolate for lent this year since it's linked to happier, more positively reactive babies.

www.newscientist.com/article/dn4854-chocolate-in-pregnancy-keeps-baby-happy.html

deb, glad the boys are healthy-ish again!

goingfor3 · 06/02/2008 08:08

DLM, after all the talk of pancakes I thought you were talking about a style of bra called pancake and though a bra with that name really doesn't sound flattering!

I've always wanted to have a girl so having three is just like having extra bonuses, a couple of people have given pitying glances when I say it's another girl so I feel I have to explain that I am really happy!

aberdeenhiker · 06/02/2008 08:09

and I can't keep up with everything else! Yesterday was a busy day...

goingfor3 · 06/02/2008 08:12

aberdeenhiker chocolate is on the menu for me today then, just to kepp baby happy of course!

debs, glad things aren't so grim this morning.

ernest · 06/02/2008 08:33

cannot believe how much you lot natter. I've not got much time on here now you know, I'm on me holidays.

debs, yuk, but 1st thought was, thanks God it's leather! Get well soon!

I made a comment the other night about this being the LAST one - it is nuber 4 after all, and dh is the least patient man on the planet, honestly, he sits at the table with his fingers in his ears sometimes cos he can't stand the noise - and that's when they're just talking!

His reply - the shock has erased the actual words from my mind, but was along the lines of 1 or 2 more!!!!!!!! He's gotta be joking. I keep saying, you are joking, right, about wanting more. I really can't tell, but he's never coming near me again until he's undergone a minor surgical procedure.

I forgot it was ash wednesday today, till I came on here, and have gone and had a bacon butty for breatfast. doh. And desert tonight is chocolate fondue, tho church is at 7.30, so I'm going to have to make the whole family choke down their dinner at lightening speed or I'll miss out.

That's the attitude, right?

aberdeenhiker · 06/02/2008 08:43

DLM, those panache bras don't come in small enough sizes for me It's frustrating to be at either end of normal I guess - yes, my small boobs get bigger but when they're an A-cup to start with...

PregnantPenguin · 06/02/2008 09:34

Morning All - there are so many threads on here! Am off work with bl00dy wisdom teeth again today. Have phoned up dentist I saw on Monday when mouth was sore, but normal sized and explained antibiotics have done nothing and I now look like a hamster! Next appointment at 10am today. Don't mess with a pregnant woman in pain Mister.

This is my first pregnancy, and it is not twins, but DH has already accidentially said 'when we have the 4th one' and referred to me and bump as his 'litter' (like a cat I think, as opposed to rubbish). He'll be lucky... He's from NZ and has this plan that we'll have 2 UK babies here and 2 NZ babies over there!

AberdeenHiker - that looks like serious scientific evidence to me. If I must...only eating soup and yoghurt at the moment as I can't chew, but can suck cadburys buttons until they melt!

ernest · 06/02/2008 09:43

ha ha pp. If it's only your 1st, your dh won't know what gonna hit him. let's see if he's so keen on a 'litter' at 2,3,4,5 in the morning, when he has to get up at 6.30. ha ha ha ha.

mind you, saying that, my dh did just hint at 6...

but I was way to soft o him.

I remember having a go at him for NEVER getting up in the night to see to our ds and he pulled out his trump card "well, I can't go, there's no point cos I can't feed him". To which I replied I'd stopped breastfeeding 3 bloody months ago.

I've never let him forget that one.

Lazy fecker.

No more Mrs Nice Lady/Mother this time. oh no. I've learnt where it get's you. He's not gonna know what's hit him. ha ha.

debinaustria · 06/02/2008 09:54

LOL Ernest - your poor dh this time!! at chocolate fondue mmmmm

Think I've got rid of the smell of sick!

Will go and consume chocolate - purely for scientific purposes but the creme eggs have all gone now, but I have a 1kg bar of dairy milk to start that sil got me at the airport last time!!

Dh has also hinted at #4 but tbh I think the 6 years since ds2 was a baby have numbed his senses - I am sure when this baby is awake all night and asleep all day he will change his story!!

OP posts:
PiggyPenguin · 06/02/2008 10:09

Ernest, my mum had 6, five boys and then a girl. To be fair though I think it was more her choice than my dad's, and it is nice to grow up in a big family! Having said that, I'm definitely stopping at three.

Aberdeenhiker - I am with you on the small bra size (at least I think it was you, there have been oodles of posts!) When you start out with a deflated (too much bfing) a cup I think the best you can hope for is some fullness at last, and maybe a b cup if very lucky.
