Good morning all you creme egg lovers ( and those weird ones amongst us who don't appreciate them)

Good luck for all the scans coming up this week, and next.

Thanks, didn't get much sleep so everything feels worse today.

dylansmumplusone · 25/02/2008 15:01

there are def a few ladies on here with SPD unfortunately, i'm sure they'll be along soon!

upsidedowncake, why, oh why, did you have to tell me that??!! it still must be better than brownies though??

goingfor3 · 25/02/2008 15:01

MMMmmm greek yoghurt is so good, Total 0% fat is really good and I don't feel guilty eating it. If DD1 is well enough to go to ballet today I may have to pop into waitrose on the way home!

Josie57 · 25/02/2008 15:02

I'm waiting to see the physio about my SPD but the appointment isn't for another month Mine started about 2 months ago but fortunately hasn't got much worse, I just have to plan how I turn over in bed as this is when it tends to hurt most. Would hate to think how painful it would be to have this during the day as well. I really feel for you but you have come to the best place. Feel free to get it all off your chest, we're a sympathetic bunch and so far have managed to stagger our 'off' days. Would hate to think what it would be like if we all had a bad day on the same day

Hope you feel more cheery soon.

thegreenfairy · 25/02/2008 15:02

DMPO - greek honey. Can I recommend Total? Is even nicer that YV imo - if you can believe that, and also has the live cultures in it YV has.
Btw, am totally paranoid about eczema (which I had terribly as a child) and for anyone else worried, a study I read said a small amount of live yoghurt daily in the third trimester significantly cuts the risk of that, an asthma too. And if you can keep organic/ live dairy in your diet while BF this helps too.

thegreenfairy · 25/02/2008 15:10

Doh - I meant Greek yoghurt. [smacks forehead]

Josie57 · 25/02/2008 15:13

GF - is that for the baby as well as the mum?

systemsaddict · 25/02/2008 15:18

Mmmmm, I ordered some Greek yoghurt from ASDA which should be arriving this evening - well if I'm avoiding sugar most of the day I need a treat of some kind!!

Welcome back damewashalot. Have you seen anyone for the SPD, physio, osteopath etc? I had it at the end of last pregnancy and it just started up again the past couple of weeks, panicking me, so I have been religiously keeping my knees together at all times, keeping everything symmetrical and doing lots of supporting whenever I move with pelvic floor and core abdominal muscles, which is helping a lot so far. If it's your fourth you know the drill ... I'm fairly sure mine will only get worse but am trying to put that off as long as possible - but can't get a physio referral until it does get 'severe'. You have all my sympathy, it's so debilitating. How are you managing with the other children - do you still need to carry them about?

[so much for avoiding the board today - OK going back to my procrastinatey task again, half way through now]

ktpie · 25/02/2008 15:36

systemaddict - thanks for that, will look out on ebay!
DMPO - I was totally sceptical about hypnosis until I got Paul McKenna's I can make you thin book and CD last year, I lost a stone in about two months without dieting, it was great, I have leant it to my mum though and it hasn't made any difference to her, not sure if that means it only works on some people or just that she hasn't bothered reading it! (Will need it back once the baby is born I reckon!)

thegreenfairy · 25/02/2008 15:41

It's for the baby. I don't get eczema any more, but babies can apparently get eczema triggered by all sorts of things so have been doing loads of research. If you stick to organic diary when you're weaning that seems to help too.

damewashalot · 25/02/2008 15:58

I'm wearing my support belt from last time which is getting a bit tatty but mw hasn't referred me to physio as they now charge £30 for a belt they were still free when I had ds3 who is 2 next week. I have tried to reduce the amount I lift him as much as possible but he's little so sometimes just needs picking up(not really little big lump but young) The other 2 are 9 and 6 so can be quite helpful..... when they feel like it
Thanks for being so welcoming, I sometimes think I may well be mad having a 4th as am crap at the pg thing, but it's always worth it in the end

makecakesnotwar · 25/02/2008 16:17

Damewashalot- support belts are still free in my neck of the woods. First time round for me, SPD kicked in around week 20 and has been slowly getting worse, though not yet (MC crosses everything) unbearable. Seeing physio every two weeks, although they just seem to be monitoring at this point. And getting plenty of rest, but I can do that because this is my first and I work from home [is there a little-bit-smug emoticon??]

makecakesnotwar · 25/02/2008 16:21

Have spotted a rival June 08 thread...but noone here started it. Have therefore taken matters into my own hands

makecakesnotwar · 25/02/2008 16:23

So come to the new thread, don't leave me hanging [geddit?] [makecakes wonders if she has had too many Creme Eggs today...]
