Molly, get on ebay and look for your bras.

Peachy · 11/02/2008 14:22

sexy no, useful yes!

PortAndLemon · 11/02/2008 14:24

I am ignoring how I'm going to feel in a month [cheerful state of complete denial emoticon]...

Mollyfloss · 11/02/2008 14:27

I keep getting the same maternity bra which costs £10. it just goes up a size each time. I plan to have more kids so they should be put to use... When you get fitted for the nursing bra at 36 weeks, can you start wearing it straight away?

Peachy · 11/02/2008 14:29

You can indeed- so make sure its not only comfy for now, but looks as if it will last for quite a while and that the drop down mechanism is easy to useAnything too fiddly in palstic can snap, and hooks can fray fabric.

Mollyfloss · 11/02/2008 14:34

Peachy, I just saw your link and ordered the two hook extenders which should fit my bras. They should keep me going until 36 weeks when I get the nursing bra. Thanks!

and thanks also for the advice on the nursing bras, will make sure to get really comfy one...

SuzeM · 11/02/2008 14:39

Any recommendations for Moses baskets (preferably inexpensive as probably won't use it for very long?). I have decided against the Amby cradle as I will go to Dublin frequently and don't want to have to lug that with me each time.

PortAndLemon · 11/02/2008 14:45

I'm still in the same size bra I was in by 8 weeks with DS, three and a half years ago (which was only one cup size and half a back size up from my normal size). Never got any bigger, never got any smaller...

EllieG · 11/02/2008 14:48

Not exotic - just Jersey, but we have crap employment laws and benefits over here.

I want some new comfy trousers too. Nothing is comfy at the moment. I want to take my skin off it is hot and itchy. E45 cream is good though.

Peachy · 11/02/2008 14:49

Ah, the Jersey maternity alws are notorious aren't they? Poor you!

Sheds75 · 11/02/2008 14:59

I wish I'd only gone up by 1 cup size and half a back size , I think half my weight increase is ' up north'. So far 3 cup sizes and 2 back sizes and getting a bit tight again! back to M&S I think, although think I'll wait till I get my nursing bras in 3 weeks (save a few pounds)

EllieG · 11/02/2008 15:01

Yep. Am moaning a LOT about the crapness of them at moment. Clearly the state does not give a monkeys about investing in good care for LOs by making it easier for their Mums to be with them. Bah. [climbs off soapbox and goes to make a cup of tea, grumbling]

It must have other advantages though?

Suze, anything cheap and cheerfull - if you want new, argos have one for £29.99 if not do you have any second hand baby shops by you/car boot sales/ebay

ruty · 11/02/2008 15:58

Hello portandlemon!
Exams Peachy? I keep having a recurring nightmare about having to sit my finals again at the moment, no idea why, but admiring you greatly!
I'm not sleeping very well either, restless legs, and aching hips. Very annoying. 10 weeks at least to go! tummy is so huge. I told dh it is like having very tight trousers on but never being able to take them off...

Soph73 · 11/02/2008 16:02

Ellie - I think our maternity laws are sh1t here too so I shall commiserate with you.
I´m also finding it really difficult to sleep at the mo. Just can´t get comfy & do have bad circulation in legs & arms some nights.

Sheds75 · 11/02/2008 16:09

there is 10% off at Mothercare with "this www.mothercare.com/gp/node/n/72302031?&extid=EMC-2497q"

PortAndLemon · 11/02/2008 16:12

Good spot -- I need want a new bouncy chair and a new baby monitor and a new (umm... now what was the other thing?) so that could really save money...

chipmonkey · 11/02/2008 16:17

Suze, if you google "Samsonite pop-up travel cot deluxe" you should find the cot we will be buying to take on hols. It folds down tiny and is suitable up to 6 months.
SIL had a baby girl yesterday! Went out today and bought lovely pink things in Ladybird. Don't know what I'm having ( yet!) so maybe will be my only chance to buy pink stuff!

scorpio1 · 11/02/2008 16:19

Not supposed to do raspberry leaf until 36 weeks, can have strong effects on some women. Tea is better with a spoonful of honey in it.

i got Mills a lovely bouncy chair from Mothercare, and her bath. i am fed up already of bring pg and am 31+3. have a while left me thinks!

DH has rang to say he is going to bed when he gets in - ill apparently. Oh fabby

EllieG · 11/02/2008 16:43

Think I have bought most things for the newbie stage but can always squeeze in a bit more.
I want to go home now. Have done WHOLE day at work nearly and am tired and hurty. And my stupid client who always pats me on the tummy came in and said 'She's going to be a big girl isn't she? Big like her Mummy!' grrrrrr

OP posts:
Soph73 · 11/02/2008 16:44

Scorpio - I´m getting fed up sometimes as well & I´m only 28wks (although I think I´m 30wks). It doesn´t help though with my due dates changing left, right & centre - I now have 4! Sorry to hear about DH - is he really ill or is it man flu

Soph73 · 11/02/2008 16:46

EllieG - in my current mind set I´d have probably whacked her with a clipboard People are very good round here, they just stay out of my way! I´m not quite sure how I've managed to stay awake all day after having so much time off sick.

Peachy · 11/02/2008 16:54

Moses basket- worth a go on freecycle? There's always loads on ours.

IME (limited to me obviously LOL), raspberry leaf doesn't bring you frowards just amkes it easier once you're there- which is what the paltry one piece of research says from what I can see. It was great with ds3 when I went overdue but had no effect for ds1 at all (he was induced at 38 weeks anyway). Didn't bother with ds2- didn't know about the capsules then!.

I need to sort out a chair, but there may be one in the shed that just needs a head hugger. I am categorically NOT allowed down there though- alright by me, full of DH's bizarre electroniccy crud! Am hoping he'll put crib together this weekend as kids have been using secretly as a slide (still in box) and I want to know if its damaged or not, especially as we have just put in an offer on a car so cash may suddenly go tight (choice a bit more limited once you get past 3 kids LOL).

SuzeM · 11/02/2008 18:02

Thanks Chipmonkey, I'm going to buy a regular cot to leave in Dublin but I do need a travel cot too and that looks ideal.

Ellie, that is so rude of her!
