I HAVE A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT AT 11:10 WOOHOO.

If they dare offer me anymore cream to see if it's what the think it might be I'm going to scream. I want oral antifungals, a skin scrape and a dermatologist referral, don't I girls?

TLSM · 04/02/2008 09:55

Oh good for you VS dont let them fob you off!

Scampmum · 04/02/2008 10:22

Good luck VS! Repeat after me

Oral antifungals
Skin scrape
Dermatologist referral (soon)

Or bloody good reasons why not. If you feel like you're getting batted down just imagine poor DD starting to lose her hair and stand firm (or cry)!

Checked my contractual rights, the firm will usually continue to pay full pay for up to 26 weeks sick leave (!) but it is at their discretion. Doc's appt on Weds. It took me 25 minutes to walk to the station this morning (10 mins for an able-bodied type!). BH are constant when I am walking. I am such a whinger, I'll shut up.

How is everyone else today?

scorpio1 · 04/02/2008 10:56

great, i have thrush. prescription will be ready after lunch though so thats quick service think its because i have been stressed isnt it?

had appt with SENCO today, she thinks there are dyspraxic issues too. at least he is being seen by people.

Good luck VS!

EllieG · 04/02/2008 11:04

Good luck VS! I find the crying option generally works well - PG lady in tears makes people very quick to sort things encase you give birth or something.

scampmum - I have been signed off work for a week this week as am knackered and everything hurts, midwife told me as long as I went back to work before 32 weeks would not trigger my mat leave. I would take a break if I were you hon - I know I really need one - and midwife pointed out to me that if I over did it and something happened, it's not like work were going to give me a medal to say thank you! Now's the time to look after yourself and your LO, not work.

molly - I'm so glad you asked that about braxton hicks - I was wondering that same question yesterday. I'm not sure whether I get them - my stomach gets really tight sometimes but not sure if is just being bloated, and between that and the rib pain am getting and the spd can't really tell what uncomfortable feeling is what! Felt a bit sorry for self last night when lying in bed and could not get comfy for the life of me. Am really glad have a rest this week.

Morning all, stay strong LVS or alternatively break down and cry, stamp your feet and scream uncontrollably till you get said treatments!! (then afterwards appologise and blame it on the hormones - only a couple more months to use that excuse so make the most of it, oh hang on we can still blame it on the hormones from BF and the sleepness nights - bonus) Seriously hope you manage to get the right result for your DC.

Nappies - do not but yunyuns, my littlelambs r starting to get a but snug on DS so thought Id try yunyuns (cheaper and all in one so no wraps to contend with) but they were a disaster leaked all over the shop.

Molly, you may be one of the lucky souls who dosent feel any BH, nothing to worry about.

TLSM, if your seeing your midwife tomorrow ask about exercises to encourage breech babies to turn, theres still plenty of time for it to go suuny side down

EllieG · 04/02/2008 11:06

scorpio - good news about senco being on board. Sorry about thrush, is crap isn't it?

scorpio1 · 04/02/2008 11:09

yeah it is! first time i have had since since pg with Jamie though, over 3.5 years ago so ok. MW was very kind and asked about the stress, she said i should just do my assignments as and when and try not to go in too much anymore, abit like what you said about they are not going to give me a medal are they?? Think i will end up graduating a year later than my peers but thats fine, i really dont care very much tbh. am going to get the 3 assignments in after half term, before easter. the work due in after that will have to be as and when.

scorpio1 · 04/02/2008 11:09

it was 4 years ago this leap year day 29th feb i knew i was expecting jamie

EllieG · 04/02/2008 11:10

Ooo TLSM forgot - my baby is breach too - in my PG yoga class we did an exercise where we got on all 4's and sort of wiggled around (well I didn't cos of spd but all 4s was possible) and she said this really helps gets baby in right position.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 04/02/2008 11:12

Millie is breech too, but i think she may have turned, im getting kickc up by my ribs now, DH said when he came to bed at 2am she was kicking really high up for ages, bang bang bang!

EllieG · 04/02/2008 11:14

Good for you scorpio! Have to say I am HUGELY impressed at you managing to study and have children and be PG anyway - whenever I was studying I only had myself to look after as although did my social work thing while working I wasn't with DP then so had plenty of time. So hats off to you lady, I think you have earned the right to take a wee bit more time if you need it. It isn't going anywhere after all is it? And your health and wellbeing is much more important.

I remember once being able to stay up til 2 a.m.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 04/02/2008 11:15

they will allow me to finish like that will they? i will only have 3 more assignments and 20 days placement to do in a year. they cant say no anywaay can they or take my credits off me?

EllieG · 04/02/2008 11:19

Wouldn't have thought so - have a word with them though - they sound like they've been really understanding so far

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 04/02/2008 11:21

will do i think, i cant even get them done before then anyway becuase i need to use the library and its 15 miles away and i dont drive.

will get MW to write me a letter signing me off or summit. i may even be able to the assignments before august, but not the placement days, that may be better.

EllieG · 04/02/2008 11:24

Sounds like a good plan - as long as you let people know what you are up to they never mind. Don't set yourself up to fail by taking on too much. Midwife will sign you off no probs am sure.

paranoidmummy · 04/02/2008 11:57

hey, hope everyone is well. was wondering if any of you ladies can help me? ended up in hosp over the weekend and my waters started to go. have posted on preg topic (sorry i have no idea how to link!) but have had no replies yet and just wondering if anyone has any experience?

Scampmum · 04/02/2008 12:06

I don't know much medical but I think if the baby is head down it works as a plug and the membrane can grow over, plus the waters can replenish themselves at quite an amazing rate. I would imagine if you've been sent home they're not too worried but I would DEFINITELY get signed off work (if still working) and take everything super-easy.

With any luck someone medical will post on your thread - I will go and bump it for you!

Scampmum · 04/02/2008 12:08

PS Ellie thank you, you are a sweetheart and your post made me well up! I hope you have a lovely restful week off. I SO know what you mean about all the pain/discomfort blurring into one. I was so close to crying doing my little shuffle along today with pelvis in agony and tummy in solid contraction and feeling like everything was about to fall out! Keep getting those stabbing cervical/(I believe the MN term is) fanjo pains as well.

rainbowdays · 04/02/2008 12:15

Paranoidmummy - I am no expert but it does depend on whether it was your hind waters or not, hind waters can go and hole repair itself and not be a problem (as long as no infection), as scrapmum says the waters replenish themselves quickly, if it was your forewaters I don't think they would have let you out and you would get more water than the leaking from hind waters. Hope this makes sence???

Reusable nappy users - thanks for your helpful info. I was just getting a little confused between which nappies and which were wraps you were talking about. I have loads of different nappies now to chose from, but need more wraps - which should I chose???? I have larger sizes of bambino mio, and love the velcro fastening. But ready to try others brands instead.

paranoidmummy · 04/02/2008 12:18

thank you scampmum . i am going out of my mind with worry - i'm pretty paranoid at the best of times!
i am still working atm - off work today as thought it best i rest - but am supposed to be working up until 38 weeks... do u think i'd be really silly to carry on? without sounding like a heartless cow who dosn't care about her baby, did u ever find out about pay if u are signed off sick like this? i know it sounds really silly if my baby's health is at risk but not sure where we would stand financially then?

scorpio1 · 04/02/2008 12:20

how many weeks are you paranoid? my firends waters fully broke at 32 weeks and she had her baby at 33 weeks and he is fine, breathed alone straight away etc. dont worry too much, if the worst happens and baby is born its very likely he/she will be fine.

rainbowdays · 04/02/2008 12:21

LVS - hope you did not get fobbed off, and got the referral you needed.

Scorpio - good that senco is taking notice now. I hope you are not overdoing things, stress does not help with thrush, hope the college are helpful for you.

scrapmum - hope you get some rest from the pain/discomfort too.

paranoidmummy · 04/02/2008 12:22

thanks rainbowdays, i'm sure it must be from my hind waters cos although there was a lot it did stop and was nowehere near as much as when all my waters went with my first preg! fingers crossed all will be ok. hopefully my midwife will enlighten me more when i see her tom as well. i just don't want baby coming yet, its too early, if it will hold on in there for 5 weeks or so...
