Hello everybody!
Been away with a proposal deadline and a horrible cold! Why have I been having so many horrible colds since I move to england????

I have been scared of hopping into the scale since I had already gained way too much last time I checked... I've seen in another board people comparing their bellys in number of toilet peper sheets. I am up to 7 sheets at 14 weeks! Anyone else?

megi · 02/12/2004 18:12

Had another scan today! Baby was playing up and would not get into correct position - so had to do lots of hip thrusting and going for walks! After about an hour we finally got the measurements needed!

Also met midwife for the first time - she is lovely - Still can't believe this is happening!

I would not bring dh to rainforest cafe and am undecided bout dd - but I will be there!

Tessiebear · 02/12/2004 18:30

I like walkinginawelshmumwonderland - i am thinking about Tinselbear - but think it is really dull - any suggestions anyone???
BTW - remind me never to say i am feeling better AGAIN. Today its business as usual and i have been crying over nothing most of the day and generally feeling fat and fed up. Hope you are all ok

LipstickMum · 02/12/2004 18:36

You all had a good day of chatting, I am finding it harder to get on here during the day, so much going on at the moment.

Re the weight gain Welshie. I wont pretend that I'm a fat bloater, because naturally I am pretty slim. Not trying to sound conceited, but if I say I'm piling on the pounds and "so fat!" when you meet me you'll just think I'm one of those stupid bitch/annoying women who think anything over 9st is overweight... Anyway! Second time round the weight is just piling on, it's awful!! My tummy looks like I have a tire around it, it's so freaky. But hey, now's not the time to worry, have another mince pie

I think I will be there for the meeting, alone. I'm only undecided because I'm a bit freaked out by online meets, never done it before. Plus, you're all pretty weird on here so GOD KNOWS what you'll be like in glorious technicolour Kidding! (although do I think we are all a bit hormonally mad right now!!)

LipstickMum · 02/12/2004 18:37

PS. No idea about Christmas name, was hard enough to thtink of this one...

katzguk · 02/12/2004 19:05

well i feel like i've been run over by a train today!! really tired and sleepy. Had a very sickie feeling day yesterday and felt faint a few times. Think i might need some iron, i can feel a crispy duck moment coming on tomorrow!!

Christmas names hmmmmm

charleypops · 02/12/2004 19:24

Aw poor you Katz. I feel great - been ripping horrid old 80's panelling out of my kitchen (carefully). Best I've felt for weeks, so maybe we'll all be turning a corner soon?

Lippy - I'm hoping everyone IS a bit weird - make me feel more normal

Tessiebear · 02/12/2004 19:25

I feel really "out of it" by not being able to go to the meet - up

katzguk · 02/12/2004 19:29

was hoping to have started to turn the corner but am already nearly 14 weeks!! boo hiss!! sorry i don't do pregnant very well, didn't with DD and would appear to be again!! oh well just hoping for an easy labour its only fair after feeling this ill!

charleypops · 02/12/2004 19:45

TBH I did have a lie in til midday and then a VERY leisurely bath.....maybe everyone would feel fab if they'd been able to do that?

Why can't you come Tessie?

MrsChristmasday · 02/12/2004 20:30

For us northerners, we'll have to a virtual meet-up on here whilst they are all lunching.

Or better still, arrange a northern meet-up!

There doesn't seem to be many of us turning the corner at the moment. I'm certainly not, in fact I'm feeling the worst I've felt since I found out I was pregnant! When does the second trimester start? Surely it can't be too much longer before we get that almost mythical burst of energy.

Sending you a big hug Tessiebear, you seem really blue today. How about Tessiebearinggifts for your festive name? Sorry, the best I can come up with, only got two working braincells at the moment.

Tessiebear · 02/12/2004 21:02

Really good name Mrs C but it has already been used by Tammybearinggifts!
Am feeling low - thanks for hug - i need one today!
Charleypops - i live in the south-east of Kent and is a bit far to come at the moment near xmas etc - but not imposible if well planned!

MrsChristmasday · 02/12/2004 21:27

You know, I was thinking I'd seen it somewhere before. Bugger.

Tessiexmasbear? Oh that is rubbish! I think Tinselbear is a good one. Will keep thinking (for what it's worth).

charleypops · 02/12/2004 22:44

I spoke too soon - I've been feeling really dizzy for the past few hours (for the first time!)- dp even had to help me get up to the loo . Oh well...

Can't think of any decent Christmas names either.

sweetheart · 03/12/2004 08:43

Morning everyone!!!

Am I the only sad bastard to be in the office at 8am!!!!!!

My exam went much better than expected - must have been all your good luck messages - THANK YOU!!!!!!
So now I can relax and chill out in the run up to christmas which I'm really looking forward to.

Welshmum, I really sympathise with your weight gain feelings. Over the last year I have lost over 2 stone with weight watchers and was just starting to feel fantastic about myslef again after having dd. I'm really struggling with the weight gain at the moment as I don't want to pile on too much weight. I've decided (as this will be our last child) I'm going to reclaim my body afterwards and concentrate on looking like a goodess!!!!!!

Not sure about the meet up yet - can I let you know nearer the time?!?!?!?!?!?!

welshmum · 03/12/2004 09:56

Morning sweetheart, Really pleased your exam went well - when do you get the results?
I'm trying to chill out a bit about the weight gain - but it is hard. This bit is the worst I think - when you look like you're just getting fat and your normal clothes are starting not to fit well at all. This is going to be our last baby too and I've already decided to get a grip once it's all done. Last time I left off the serious dieting until dd was 1 - because of breast feeding and needing food for energy and comfort with the broken nights. I think that was a good plan because when I went for it it all came off pretty easily. I feel mildly disloyal to the baby for already planning my dieting strategy! I think once I've got a bump I'll start to concentrate alot more on enjoying being pg - as I keep telling myself I can spend the rest of my life trying to be slimmer but only another 6 months being pg.

sweetheart · 03/12/2004 10:03

Thats such a good attitutde to have welshie. I too think I'll enjoy this alot more when I look preg and not just fat

I was quite skinny in my pre-children days and I'd love to re-gain some of that if possible. It took me the best part of 3 years to get back on track after having dd and I don't want to keep putting it off after this one.

Exam results are in February BTW.

welshmum · 03/12/2004 10:14

I've just been to the loo at work and looked at my middle in the mirror. It's quite sweet really to think there's a little person in there. Ah stuff it - no more moaning about weight.....
Did you see Edge of Life last night anyone? Really moving prog on BBC2 about prem babies.

berolina · 03/12/2004 10:28

Morning all.
On the showing/weight topic - yesterday was the first time a student asked me if I was expecting. I was a little taken aback that she just asked like that but found it quite sweet because she beamed all over her face and was really happy for me, aaaahhh...

Lua · 03/12/2004 11:39

Welshie, you are a brave woman! I took one look at the premies on the telly yesterday and ran away! I have enough creativity to think about all bad thing it can happen to the little one without watching stuff on TV....

Lua · 03/12/2004 11:41

Ohh, and yes, can we have a northeners meeting????
I am in Manchester, and am also enviuos of the southeners...

katzguk · 03/12/2004 11:47

yeah a northerns meeting would be good, where though i'm in Sheffield, mrswednesday is in leeds i think. what other northerners are there?

welshmum · 03/12/2004 12:01

Lua I'm afraid I love all those programmes. DH islike you it sets his brain racing and he gets worried. It was a pretty inspirational show but I really don't know how those parents do it - especially the ones who had 2 babies delivered at 24 weeks, and the resultant problems. Brave isn't the word.
