Morning all!

Thanks again for all your help regarding the school thing! Now we've broken up and I'm not actually there I do feel much better about it. I just think I felt frustrated that I wasn't in control about who I could tell - when at 14 weeks I think I should be able to tell the parents and children if I want. - it is not a dirty secret! Anyway - I think in Jan after all the xmas food I will be eating I will be so fat that people will know for sure!

My dd is generally gorgeous - quite shy but once she gets to know someone she is fine. - We took her to see Santa yesterday and hid behind her daddy the whole time - and just gave a cautious wave on her way out! - All her pressies are in our bedroom - I have made an effort to hide them - but I am sure she knows they are there. Next year they will have to be wrapped straight away and stuck in the loft!

We were talking about my lack of bump yesterday and a friend said that I would 'relax' over the holidays and pop out then....surely this can't be remotely true?

teabelly · 20/12/2004 10:46

Maybe there's something in it coz the more relaxed my clothes are (or comfortable if you prefer ) the more prominent my bump is!

walkinginawelshmumwonderland · 20/12/2004 10:51

I just have this vision of my having a ridiculous bump on January 2nd - it's making me laugh now. I am such a different woman having got last week out of the way - I really do feel so happy

LipstickMum · 20/12/2004 10:56

Morning all

Glad you feel better after last weeks memories Welshie

I am in a jolly good mood, making mince pies (slightly over cooked the first batch, so I am munching my way thru them on my own, couldn't possibly offer those to guests ) listening to Christmas music on the radio and wrapping presents.

walkinginawelshmumwonderland · 20/12/2004 10:58

That's a nice picture Lipstick. Do you make your own pastry like a real woman or are you a packet of ready made and a jar of mincemeat like me?

katzguk · 20/12/2004 10:59

morning

i'm sat at my desk procrastinating!! i've got lots to do but i just get motivated this morning!!

Went to a work christmas do on saturday which was good.

Still feeling good so now think morning sickness has passed and i can wait for the indegestion to set in!!

LipstickMum · 20/12/2004 11:01

Oh god, no. I have bought pastry and mincemeat and I think that's domestic goddessy enough. Most people I know buy them.

Have to go and wrap some prezzies. bbl

teabelly · 20/12/2004 11:20

Katz glad you seem to be done with the sickness...hmmm pregnancy indigestion I remember it well, but hopefully not too well for a month or so!!

Lipstick you're making me very hungry - save one for me . Now what shall I have for lunch?? God I can't believe I'm asking that question so early I'll have to take an early lunch now...can't get food off my mind!

LipstickMum · 20/12/2004 11:21

~passes round the plate of warm mince pies~

katzguk · 20/12/2004 11:24

i need to do and get some lunch too now!!

MrsWednesday · 20/12/2004 12:28

Can I have a warm mince pie please? Just had a boring bowl of Alpen to tide me over until lunchtime (which is all of about twenty minutes away).

Another procrastinator here! Sat at my desk in a cold office with no motivation to do anything. Have already embarrassed myself - phoned the IT bloke to report that my computer wasn't working then I realised that I hadn't plugged it in properly.

Glad you're not feeling sick Katzguk - sounds like you've cracked it. We're coming to the good bit now - more energy (I'm still waiting for that to hit!), less sickness, and soon proper bumps all round. Can't wait until I can feel the baby kicking, it's such a wonderful (and weird) feeling.

walkinginawelshmumwonderland · 20/12/2004 13:57

Me too - I do have odd moments when I think that I've felt it but then dismiss it as too early (16 weeks) it probably is that though.
I'm the same as you Lipstick I feel proud when I manage to make mincepies from ready made pastry and mincemeat....

charleypops · 20/12/2004 18:51

Got 6 pairs of baby socks in the post this morning from my gran!! My very first baby anything!! Sweet, but made me feel a bit funny

LipstickMum · 20/12/2004 19:13

I am considering buying some maternity clothes. Am I mad? Is it too early? Thought I might get some stuff in the sales. Anyone else bought anything new yet? Most of my maternity stuff from dd has been worn by me, my best friend and my sister I think it will look pretty sad and worn by the time I get it back! I'm just being a bit supersticious...

BUBBALOO · 20/12/2004 20:24

evening all,
ive just ordered a lovely maternity top from bjorn and me(online)which is kind of exciting-my first maternity item
im finding that my tops are still fitting but my jeans are getting fairly tight now which is a pain as i live in them!!
ive also put on about 7lbs in weight which isnt too good but thats probably all the ice cream and monster munch(pickled onion-yum!)that im craving
is anyone else craving anything?
its a shame im not craving prunes-im still really constipated at the mo-ha ha ha!!!

teabelly · 21/12/2004 09:17

Morning girls,

Lipstick I've already started wearing afew of my maternity bits and bobs (will be 18 weeks on Saturday tho so that's my excuse! ) You can get some great stuff in H&M and they change their items regularly so everytime I go in I find something new I must have, he he he. Also their prices are great, last week I got a fab work skirt for £15 and that's before their sale starts! If you can hold out tho the sales are a great time to get maternity stuff, last time when pg with ds I was 3 weeks behind where I am now and got tons of stuff in the january sales for very little outlay.

Bubbaloo I've been guzzling loads of pineapple and orange juice (much nicer than prunes) and that's helped abit - maybe you could try that?

Scraggy how did your hydrotherapy, massage and relaxation evening go? Did you find a suitable coverup in the end or just let people guess?

Better get on I guess - am supposed to be preparing for the Year End reporting but my enthusiasm to do anything remotely work related is sadly very lacking...may go on ebay instead catch you later.

sweetheart · 21/12/2004 09:31

Just wanted to pop in and say hello.

I haven't been around much recently - finishing off all those last bits and bobs before I go on my Xmas hols!!!

Well, today is the day I've been eagerly waiting for - it's my office xmas do this lunchtime and then I'm done for a whole 2 weeks!!

I'll finally be 12 weeks on Thursday and have a scan which we are taking dd to - the best xmas gift we could have ever gotten her IMO!!!!

So I just wanted to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you - I hope you all have a fantastic time and I will speak to you all in the new year!!!!

teabelly · 21/12/2004 09:43

Merry Christmas Sweetheart, hope you have a fab party, Christmas and New Year...12 days off you lucky bugger!

walkinginawelshmumwonderland · 21/12/2004 11:14

Happy Christmas sweetheart - have a lovely time. I've got a fair bit of time off too 24th until the 4th. Hurray!!!
Wrapped presents and watched It's a Wonderful Life last night and also told dd about the baby -
now she can't stop kissing my tummy and being incredibly soppy about it all...very sweet (don't know how long that'll last!)

LipstickMum · 21/12/2004 11:40

Awwwwww Welshie, that's too cute, long may it last!!

I think if I come to the meet in Jan I will go to Top Shop and Hennes and stock up on maternity gear, by then I'll be 18 or 20 weeks or something.

Have just done my main Christmas shop in Sainsbury's. Interesting, our local Sainsbury's is normally about a 7/10 for having things in stock, but of course, with it being Christmas, they were bursting with everything!
Now I'm having the best cup of tea ever and relaxing a bit while dd slepps and hopefully dp comes home for his half day.

LipstickMum · 21/12/2004 11:40

How did I miss It's a Wonderful Life yesterday ????

teabelly · 21/12/2004 11:40

bless her. My ds flits between loving baby and kissing my tummy to wanting 'no baby thanks'! I hate to tell him it's tough now

LipstickMum · 21/12/2004 11:44

Top SHop has some good stuff. What do people think about 'under the bump' trousers?? I didn't have them last time, but am thinking about it this time. Did you want to hoik them up over your bump all the time or were they incredibly comfortable?

The only problem I have with all the tops is that they are all v-necks. Great for women with huge boobs, but I am the only woman in the world whose boobs didn't grow during pregnancy, so those topes do nothing for me whatsoever!!

LipstickMum · 21/12/2004 11:48

...maybe I'll just buy lots of posh Formes stuff from ebay
