so, scan went well and we are only having the one (phew!). Saw the heart beat and tiny bean is just 2cm crown to rump!!
8w 4d, gives me a revised due date of aug 16th. Yay, am so happy!!

morning all

beautiful sunny day here, although that in turn means it's baltic! Am trying not to let toothache & mouth full of ulcers bring me down too much, this is ridiclious though - couldn't eat properly for ages due to nausea and now can't due to sore mouth!!!
note to self - stop bloody whinging and being such a big baby and phone dentist!!!

right then who wanted helpful tips for pile?!? sorry to the rest but read on anyway as you may yet need them, this is not the most glamorous part of pg but one of the most painful!

drink lots, and I mean LOTS of water (stool softens making it easier to pass)
eat plenty fruit (see above)
try to start day with cup of hot water (gets things moving gently) with slice of lemon if you like it
when going to loo, ONLY go when you need to - no opportune trying/straining for sake of it
when on loo sit with feet up, i.e on a kiddies step or upturned basin - makes you sit up straighter for easier passage
do NOT sit on loo for ages thinking there is more, once you're done, even if only a little, get up and go - try again later when you have an urge

ok now for medical part!!
lactalose is just a stool softener which will make it easier to pass - this is not a laxative so won't make you need to go more often - just tastes like really sugary syrup & you can get it at any chemist or on prescription

get lots of suppositories and keep throwing them up there, not pleasant but will shrink them and get the job done - remember you should get them free of charge from NHS whilst on maternity excemption - stock up for after birth as baby coming down birthing canal will not help

spray - check before you use, something about not using whilst breastfeeding if I remember!

to those of you not afflicted (lucky gits!) I apologise for the pile essay and for those who are good luck!

HOLY CRAP!! THIS IS TOO EARLY FOR ME!! 5:50am now and I'm trying to pull myself together. Have already christened the morning with a grand puke. Forgot to go to the store yesterday so eating rubbish at the moment...hopeful to find more praticial food at the hospital in an hour. Will find a coke along the way as well to get the baby rockin&rollin...would hate for her to be snoozing with her but to the camera.

IlanaK, Buckets & Hazie....looking forward to your reports in a few hours.

Yay my scan was fine, only one baby and waving away. They've even put my due date forward a day (yippee more summer holiday with new baby) so I guess that makes me 12w+6 somehow. We took DS out for a fryup to celebrate.

Another tip for piles (and constipation) is to do your pelvic floor exercises on the loo when you're struggling to go - so you're pulling instead of pushing iyswim. It kind of gives the contents a last-minute squish if that's not TMI.

Well done Buckets, fab news!

Voodoo I didn't know what PITA meant so checked the list and lol .

I think my DS is 'testing boundaries' (ha! yeah, he's also a PITA!) as yesterday when we had a friend over to dinner, every time we talked to each other and not him he started shouting 'DON'T TALK MUMMY! NO MUMMY! MUMMY! STOP TALKING!'. Friend is child 'free' and I think it was the best contraception she ever had....

WTF am I gonna do when there's 2!

YEAH!!! All went very well. It actually went better than very well. I SAW THE GENDER PARTS!!! The doctor was shocked when I commented, "it's a boy...there it is," and he tried to cover things up but smiled and gave in and said, "it's still a bit early BUT that was REALLY OBVIOUS so I'll give it 80%." IT'S A BOY!! It was the doc and not the tech so I didn't get a picture of the BUTT shot but BELIEVE ME it was SO OBVIOUS!! The kid played it cool and laid back when the female tech was checking him out but when the old male doc came in he flipped around and mooned him immediately. I laughed so hard I almost cried. The doctor thought it quite funny too (so glad he had sense of humor). I'll have a follow-up scan in four weeks to confirm everything. I posted a really cool pic from the session in my profile. Guess I'll be working on boy names now.

Hey Twilight, that's fab news! So weird that you know already.

With DSs scan the first thing the sonographer said was "That's a leg, that's another leg, and that...isn't a leg, it's a boy!'

You're having a boy!!

Really chuffed for you TS, so glad all went well - and that you know its a boy!!

Catch up later, both dh and ds ill - dh came home early and then nursery phoned me at 4pm to say ds unwell with a temp. ho hum....

brilliant news from you all re scans. all getting very real and exciting now lol

went to Dr today and he took a look at my throat and announced ' ew, thats pretty minging' very quickly apologised for his lack of professionalism as I was laughing my head off and has put me on a pretty major dose of penicillin. I apparently also have a 'spectacular tonsil' so in one swoop am minging and spectacular

am now feeling at least justified at being so pathetic over past few days lol
lovely dh now off to make me some soup as soup and jelly and flumps are extend of my diet !!!

TS have just had a look at your scan photo and have to say its fantastic, I love him already wee cheery happy baby - you'll need to call him something like sonny or happy as a tribute to his first portrait! all the lady babies will need to watch out for that wee charmer
