Hi guys, good to hear of good scan reports - really happy for everyone. My scan went well and I've put up the 2 pics we got. My bambino looked huge on the screen!! Argh! My due date has been changed to the 14th August, which is also MIL's birthday so she is really chuffed. My mum went silent when I mentioned it so won't be doing that again! Couldn't believe how clear my pics were and got a really nice sonographer who took time with us so didn't feel like we were rushed. I've had friends recently who've been scanned and have been given really blurry pics of babies which resemble ducks, etc! Baby is well and waved at us as soon as the scan thingy reached the relevant place. Almost collapsed (can you do that lying down? )when I saw another big black space above where my baby occupies - thought this may have been where another baby could be hiding, but apparently it was my bladder! So only having the one - woohoo! Didn't get to have a look to see if DS or DD but DH is totally convinced we're having a boy after the way baby was kicking! It's weird to see it moving around but not able to feel it moving yet.

Dare i say the nausea seems a little better today? Still there but not as vehement.

My friend had her 2nd ds today - shot out 19 mins after they arrived at the hospital! All well though and home again already - 5 hours after they left!

Hi all,

I think there was some confusion earlier that I have a scan today because my next appointment date said 4 Feb. I had the scan last week, but had an appointment today to see obstetrician and endocrynologist (I think I spelt both of those wrong!).

Another lovely hour and forty five minutes in the hospital with two kids in tow. I was smart this time and took the portable dvd player for them. More blood taken, this time for the downs test. If you recall, my scan last week put my dates forward so they wouldn't do the nuchal/integrated test. INstead I had the quadruple test today (whatever that means).

But the best news is that the doctors agreed that I could go on "shared care" which means that my GP can do at least some of the appointments so I don't have to keep going back to hospital.

Lots of blood to be taken on a continuing basis though for underactive thyroid as well as two more random glucose tests. I am annoyed about these as it is all due to my high BMI (read "fat"). I have hever had gestational diabetes, there is no history of diabetes in my family, and last week's test came back normal. But they are so convinced that I WILL end up with gestational diabetes (based on nothing except my weight) that I have to keep having the blood tests.

We have decided to take a holiday in May before the baby comes and we have to move out of our flat (renovations to the building). I will be over 6 months and have just looked at Ryan AIr's policy on pregnancy and it seems I need a letter from the obstetrician saying I Have an uncomplicated pregnancy and I am well.

brilliant news from you all re scans. all getting very real and exciting now lol

went to Dr today and he took a look at my throat and announced ' ew, thats pretty minging' very quickly apologised for his lack of professionalism as I was laughing my head off and has put me on a pretty major dose of penicillin. I apparently also have a 'spectacular tonsil' so in one swoop am minging and spectacular

am now feeling at least justified at being so pathetic over past few days lol
lovely dh now off to make me some soup as soup and jelly and flumps are extend of my diet !!!

As for my due date: Doc has 19AUG BUT 16AUG is 280 actual days....baby measures 12+5 even though I'm only 12+2. All that noted, I'M NOT CHANGING MY DATE!!
