so, scan went well and we are only having the one (phew!). Saw the heart beat and tiny bean is just 2cm crown to rump!!
8w 4d, gives me a revised due date of aug 16th. Yay, am so happy!!

warthog - I'm the same as the Capn. I get the most painful cramps just before I need a no. 2. They make me cry out sometimes, and they feel like they're in my tummy, not my bowels. But then I have a poo and it's fine . It must be pregnancy related as I was fine before. Try not to worry...

morning guys - great news on all the scans

warthog try not to panic, there are so many things changing at the time of the 12wk mark that its completely natural to get freaked out.

as for me I felt like death again yesterday, in bed by 4pm taking paracetamol and trying to drink water and eat something - all I managed yesterday was half a weetabix/an orange and a few beans on toast.

This morning have woken up with yet another headache/toothache on both sides a 4 ulcers on my tongue which makes the already arduous task of eating even more of a struggle

sorry to be so whingey, if it makes the criers amongst us feel any better I was lamping my eyes out watching the heffalump movie with dd1 the other day when lumpy finally got his call - now whats all that about??!?!!?

Twighlight Surfer - My scan is next monday (11th) not this monday so i think i am in a different monday club. I think i will be 12+2 then. I don't know how i am going to wait that long!

Warthog - i was having cramps yesterday and woke up this morning to find my belly really has popped. Hopefully its just growing pains and a healthy sign. But get yourself to the Dr or Midwife if you are stressed, stress isn't good for you!!!

I am having my booking in appt on the 9th, 2 days before the scan. Does anyone know what happens at it?
Will they listen to the heartbeat, i really want them to but have a feeling they will tell me its to early? Anyone know?

sticky your booking in is to ask you a whole load of questions re your health/fathers health - are you and baby's father related?!? do you take intravenous drugs or have you ever/do you smoke or drink?! they'll discuss excercise with you/ weight gain and introduce you to labouring options if there are any possible complications/ you'll be told who your consultant it incase of future referral but unlikely to meet them at this initial appt/you won't get your notes yet if same as our hosp procedures

you'll probably be introduced to breast feeding/ given a pile of leaflets and informed of when the ante natal classes locally to you are/ speak about downs testing etc

bloods will be taken and height and weight and blood pressure and appt made for next scan date

of and of course you'll have to give them a sample so that they can test your wee

thats certainly what happened at mine, in between dd2 trying to wreck the place in a fit of tantrums, feel free to jump in anyone if I've forgotten anything

I was in bits at that ER episode last night... Poor Abby. Where is bloody Luca??!

But otherwise, it's quite a funny episode. Abby's Farrah Fawcett hair, and Morris's bogey man thing. Ha ha ha

Warthog allow me to chime in with Captain and Libby. Bowel discomfort is really common right now. Remember you are extra sensitive in that area now because of the placenta. It can echo the pain of the bowels. Plus it's growing which can cause it's own pain and discomfort. AND it's smooshing the bowels and/or moving them around which can cause a temporary backup in an area that never backed up before. Even the slightest backup can cause discomfort. A big clue (TMI ALERT) if passing gas gives you a bit of relief...it's probably just bowel issues. Try a little glass of tomato juice (or V-8 if you've got that in the UK), which is good for making you gasseous....then let her rip .

Don't forget bowel discomfort may also be due to changes in diet eg eating less or more of different things. I have fairly constant bubbling gas in my tummy at the mo, keep thinking it's baby movement but then it happens further up and I know that's too much coincidence LOL.
Good tip is getting on elbows and knees (as if you were trying to turn a breech baby) and let your tummy hang between your knees.

Just want to say sorry to Juliewoolie, Gemzooks & Louismummy. I can't imagine how you feel at the moment, but I'm thinking about you all.
Warthog, I got really bad pains at least once a week for 3wks in a row and was really scared. I felt that going to the loo helped a bit but like libbyssister the pain made me want to cry out and really made DH panicky at the time. This was from about 4 - 6wks, but (touch wood!) haven't had many rumblings or pains since. I told the midwife at my booking appt but she didn't seem too concerned as I hadn't had any bleeding. Hope you are feeling better now and that it stays that way!
