August 2008 - the 2nd thread (what an interesting thread title!)

so, scan went well and we are only having the one (phew!). Saw the heart beat and tiny bean is just 2cm crown to rump!!
8w 4d, gives me a revised due date of aug 16th. Yay, am so happy!!

I am freaking out about my scan tommorow. I have to go back to the same clinic that scanned me at 11 weeks in August and told me the baby had died. It is bringing back such sad memories . Rationally i know that i still have preg symptoms and no bleeding but emotionally i am a wreck!

Hope everyone else is ok especially FoghornLeghorn who also has her scan

I am the same LCY although I have had no bad news in the past to make me this way. I have been having nightmares and suddenly I don't feel at all pregnant Nausea has gone, tiredness has gone, general shittyness has gone .... all good things usually but I'm really freaking out about tomorrow now !

I have had bad nightmares too! Will be thinking of you tommorow at 12.30. Hopefully we will see beautiful babies and then happily move into the safer second trimester.

Owww! Head hurts. Could be pregnancy - could be an OD of minicheddars with Primula cheese spread on top (the squeezy kind). Scan tomorrow - good luck to everyone else in the same boat. Ready for dinner - fishfingers methinks! Is anyone else going back to childhood favourite foods or is it just me?

I have a scan tomorow too and am also thinking the worst. Not made better by seeing a sad posting today on the pregnancy board from someone who went to their 12 week scan today to find out baby had died.

Am sure you will all be just fine, but I really appreciate the worry - I was just the same last week and will be just as nervous for nuchal scan next week . Seriously though, let me know if I can ask the girls to pray for us all - they would be absolutely delighted!

Evening ladies. All I want to do is close the door and sleep...no interruptions. Funny me saying this after just waking from a nap (its 4:45pm here). My energy level has never been so low.

Who mentioned it feels like going back to childhood the way you're eating lately....I emailed a friend yesterday asking if she thought I was pregnant or stoned when chatting about my food choices. The CRAZY stuff we can manage to eat at the moment .

Ladies with scans tomorrow....DO NOT WORRY. Write your concerns down on a piece of paper then slip it into your purse. After the scan check your worry note . My guess is you'll laugh at yourself. OH and don't forget to get copies of your scans for posting here. We all want to see waving babies!!

You know it would be cool if one of the celeb-pregnant mom's were in our midst. I posted here in the beginning as a way to keep the word away from all my RL friends here in the US. This is THE best message board in the world after all.

Fogleg - My MS (well nausea actually - have never actually been sick) and tiredness have disappeared too. Hoping it's just because I'm approaching 12 weeks and nothing more sinister. My consolation is that my boobs are SO sore and absolutely enormous (well, for me!). I also have a very round bump.

I'm obviously still worrying about the things though as for two of the last three nights I've had that classic 'I've just realised I've got an exam and I haven't done any revision for it' dream. Well, in last night's it was actually three exams over the next week and I couldn't read the titles of the papers in my diary so didn't even know what they were on!

Work's super busy and we've got DD's godfather staying at the moment and then my Mum's arriving at the weekend, so time's going fast at least. (And v. grateful the fatigue's abated in the face of it all!)

Very excited to hear about all those lovely scans later . Have fun ladies, as soon as you see that little heartbeat you will relax and enjoy it I'm sure

do you think I should be pushing for a scan? I had one at 8 weeks because of bleeding but my next one's not til 20 weeks. I'm so scared that something's gone wrong already and I won't know for weeks. Presumably because my tummy's growing that's a good sign?
I hope all the scans that are happening today go really well for you all, you're in my thoughts x

I've been having nightmares too. The last three nights I've dreamt about my teeth crumbling and falling out, about get married again (to my husband!) and everything being wrong and late, and last night it was about DS running off and me not being able to find him and then he changed into a dog and jumped into a river .

The thing is that then I wake up because I'm scared, and then I need a wee and then I can't go back to sleep so zzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZ

Miamla is this your first baby? I didn't have any scan until 20 weeks with DS and I worried but it was fine.

I have been having funny dreams, but funny in a ummm naughty sort of way . But good news is for once they actually include my DP so he's delighted.

now can someone explain to me please WHY having reached 14+4 do I feel worse than I did whole of first trimester - am struggling with headache and forcing dow a weetabix laced with sugar

DH just texted to say he's been offered an extra shift on Sat from 4 till midnight, don't know about anyone else but thats witching hour in my house when the kids turn into satans spawn until I get them through battle of dinner/bath/bed!! Can't turn down pennies though as I'm just about to drop to part time boooooooooo

A huge good luck to all those having their scans today, i have all fingers and toes crossed. I have my nuchal scan today as well, i am nervous but i am hoping all will be ok!!

I am putting weight at an alarming rate, if i keep going the way i am, i will need to be rolled to the delivery suite!!!

Does anyone know that with baby no2 you put on weight quicker? Might also have something to do with the sheer volumes of food i have been consuming!!!!xxxxx

I'm putting on weight very quickly too, I have heard you show sooner with 2nd and subsequent pregnancys, all to do with muscles being looser etc. Or non existant in my case

Although got offered seat on tube this morning, wasn't sure whether to be pleased or embarressed

Hello - thanks for all your thoughts and good wishes. I am happy to report that the scan was great - the baby was a real wriggler, kicking waving (reminded me of DH's dancing - tad worrying ). We are both so happy and feel that we can get really excited now and can tell people!

Oh and the baby measured 12.5 weeks today - does anyone know what that makes my due date?

miamla I'm in kind of the same situation as you, I got scanned at 9 weeks and now won't be again until 20. I am probably just going to wait and see, but I agree with you about feeling worried!
