No names been discussed yet then ?

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 11:51

I have had names in mind for what seems like months, but now it's all becoming real I'm not so sure.

DP and I discussed this and he doesn't like the girls name I have chosen. So I said well I like it and if we have a boy you can choose their name, knowing full well what he'd go for, which would so happen to be my choice aswell

My DD is called Macey, I always said if I had a boy I would call it Max. But my damn sister beat me to it.

FoghornLeghorn · 22/01/2008 11:52

So what are they then ?

DD2 is Casey

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 11:54

I like Lexi/Ruby/Scarlett for a girl and Billy/Charlie for a boy.

My friend who is 19 weeks likes Ruby too so maybe I'll have to rule that out.

dizzydixies · 22/01/2008 11:54

can anyone remember who was looking for plus-sized matty clothes? they sent me a link for american ones - sorry to be rude and forget who it was

anyway, just for their info, simplybe now do maternity clothes right up to big sizes

dorothy perkins and evans also do up to a 22

M&S do up to an 18 as well as debenhams!

can you tell am bored and lurking about on the net!!??!

dizzydixies · 22/01/2008 11:56

My dd2 is Lexie (alexandra but known as Lexie)!

I had her thinking was totally unique and then amanda holden and that footballer wag 'stole' it!! lol apparently it is shooting up the charts this year too! lol

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 11:58

I have liked it for so long, it is annoying though when these names become popular isn't it.

I remember I decided on Macey very early on, then a friend had a DD 4 months before and called her Maisy. Now I know they are different but they go to the same school and are friends and everybody gets them muddled up, it really annoys me.

MillieMooMoo · 22/01/2008 11:59

For anyone who needs a body pillow, Lidl have them in for £8.99 and pack of 2 covers for £3.99

www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20080121.p.Body_Pillow.ar8

You may have to search for your post code!

I had one when pg with dd1 and they're great!

dizzydixies · 22/01/2008 12:00

when we had her the only one we knew of was David Bowie's daughter and I thought that was quite cool!!?!

DD1 is Isabella known as Ella
DD2 is Alexandra known as Lexie

so I suppose this one, all being well, will have to have a reasonably proper name which can be shortened too?!

FoghornLeghorn · 22/01/2008 12:01

Love the girls names but DH has veto'd all of them - How strange that your boys names were what I wanted for DD2 if she was a boy but DH veto'd Billy and we both went off Charlie.

We have Jess for a girl and Jude for a boy atm - we had Jude as boys name last time in the end but DD2 had other ideas

dizzydixies · 22/01/2008 12:03

Jude and Jess are both lovely choices
what are your first two called?

FoghornLeghorn · 22/01/2008 12:04

DD1 is Evie and DD2 is Casey so we wanted something with just one syllable - we think they go quite well

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 12:05

If we choose Billy it will be William then shortened to Billy.

I think it's nice to have names that can be shortened to 'proper' names. Unlike some people who call my DD 'Mace', she doesn't answer though so that's good Not meaning to seem all snobby or anything but it is annoying.

Oh dear, it seems like everything is annoying me today.

Just seen another thread about not being offered scan at 12 weeks. Just thinking about my letter from hospital. it said it was for booking appointment and that I may be offered scan to check dates etc. I'm now wondering if I'm going to get one or not. I did at them same hospital in 2002, surely no reason why things should have changed that much. Anybody on here not having 12 week scan?

dizzydixies · 22/01/2008 12:05

they're lovely
Evangaline (Evie) is top of my list for this one

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 12:07

I like Billy, it sort of sounds mischievous [sp?] But my problem is most Billy's in TV shows or films always seem to be a bit stupid. Now I know that in itself sounds stupid but you must know what I mean.

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 12:09

Evie is a lovely name too. I like that one. That's the good thing about MN, you can discuss names. Wouldn't do it in RL as you're always frightened somebody is going to get there first

dizzydixies · 22/01/2008 12:09

lol shazza - yours could be the exception to the rule!
I don't have any boys names, I suppose I haven't even considered it as my previous two were girls - maybe better give it some thought!

dizzydixies · 22/01/2008 12:11

I refuse to discuss them in RL as my mother, of all people, is sooooo scathing about them.
even after we'd named Lexie, which took about 4 days of deliberation, she kept saying things like, "well, what about chloe or sophie, they're much nicer"

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 12:12

I think I had Bradley for a boy first time round. Can't quite remember, was 5 years ago, add to that pregnancy brain

Although I do think the name has to suit. Like my sister had Sonny in her mind the 1st time (very popular now, but this was in 1997) but when he came Elton John's song Daniel was playing on the radio, so she chose that name. Plus Sonny really didn't suit him.

I am really rambling, must get some lunch

dizzydixies · 22/01/2008 12:13

enjoy your lunch, I must get the kids!

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 12:14

My mum is the same, she worked in a school so as soon as I mention a name and she associates it with a child in the school. It seems all the Billy's and Charlie's are quite boystrus [sp?]

FoghornLeghorn · 22/01/2008 12:14

My nephew is William and he gets called Willie (when he was a baby), Will, Bill, Billy, Billbo - he has hundreds of shortened names.

DH wanted Jessica, we would refer to her as Jess but he wanted Jessica to be her full name but for some reason I absolutely hate it. I stamped my foot and said we could only have Jess if that was her name, not Jessica.

We have Evie Lauren & Casey Mae but have not thought about any middles names for this one.

FoghornLeghorn · 22/01/2008 12:15

We had Finley as boys names for DD1, glad we didn't have a boy though as have got off that now

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 12:17

It seems when 'William's' get older they become Bill's

I haven't thought of 2nd names either. That is going to be a mindfield

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 12:19

Isn't it funny how you go off them, but not if you've actually called your child it.

I loved my nan dearly so wanted her to feature in Macey's name, but she was called Minnie. So we used my nans middle name 'Emily' instead.

Now what to do for this one?. Can you see I'm focusing on girl, I am convinced. Although first time around I was convinced I was having a boy and look what happend.
