Thanks for the welcomes!

I felt nauseous for 3 weeks but that has subsided. Daft as it sounds, I'd like another symptom to begin now to take the worry away from me about my scan

Is that crazy?

warthog · 19/01/2008 19:28

as soon as you've got another symptom, you'll wish you didn't! enjoy

Buckets · 19/01/2008 20:23

Think my ms is starting to tail off yippee! Managed a lie in this morning (God bless those kiddiwinks) and didn't have breakfast til gone 9am and wasn't queasy at all until nearer lunchtime. Feeling slightly queasy now though (so due for a snack I think).
Planning to seduce my DH tonight to make sure that my other pg symptom (sobbing after sex!) hasn't gone away. Then again, got to be at work for 7am, don't want to wear meself out...

CaptainCaveman · 19/01/2008 20:32

Buckets you must be feeling better if you can contemplate having sex.
I currently look and feel like shite, so even if I did fancy it I think dh would make me wear a bag on my head to cover over the spots, grey skin and coldsore

Dh in town with friends, ds asleep - bliss. I plan to watch a bit of tv then get to bed early (again!)

libbyssister · 20/01/2008 00:23

Hi all. Back from hols. Had a good time at Centerparcs, despite the fact that it pissed down a lot of the time!

I got my scan date in the post when I got home and it's not until 18 Feb!!! I could be 14 weeks by then. Or more if my dates are wrong. Phoned them up and they might bring it forward, but their computers were down when I rang Just want to have the scan and see that everything's ok....

We used Motherease cloth nappies with DS1 and they're great. I bought all of them second hand on ebay. But they're not allowed to sell them now I heard.

I know its a bit of an old thread, but about the weight thing. With DS1 it was really weird, I lost weight while pregnant A week after he was born I weighed 2 stone less than before I got pregnant. Sounds great but actually I felt really frail and none of my pre-pregnancy clothes fitted - they were all too bloody big. Don't worry, it's all gone back on since

FoghornLeghorn · 20/01/2008 06:49

Libbyssister - don't worry too much about how many weeks you'll be when you get your scan - by my dates i'll be 14 weeks when I have my scan. Here they say it could be anytime beween 10-14 weeks

FoghornLeghorn · 20/01/2008 06:52

BTW, we are going to find out what we are having
I said to DH I was happy either which was so would leave the decision down to him as we were finding it quite stressful discussing it - he announced yesterday he thinks we should find out and I'm so pleased, as is DD1.

We were out shopping yesterday afternoon and I found myself drawn to all the baby boy clothes so I think it's a good idea we are finding out !

It says in my paperwork that at the 20 week scan the sonographers are hapy to tell you the sex of the baby should you wish to know, I'm going to be 14 weeks at my scan so am going to cheekily ask if they can tell - we are also going to have a 4D scan to triple check

alittlebitshy · 20/01/2008 09:58

welll......... drumrolll... I'm 12 weeks today.
wow. never thought i'd get this far.
got nuchal scan tomorrow at fmc!!!! V nervous, had all sorts of random dreams last night. And rationally i know all is prob ok cos we had that scan last week after my spotting, and i still feel like crap....

we're planning to tell dd after the scan (actually not til tues morn cos i work monday eve so won't see her and this IS my news lol!!). I think we're doing the right thing, but I am stil scared somehting will go wrong and she'll be upset when i could have waited a few weeks. She is def worried about me being sick though.. dh said she said to him "Mummy's been poorly an awfully long time!" , i think this migh expalin things to her........ still scared of it going wrong though.

CaptainCaveman · 20/01/2008 12:37

Odds are in your favour alittlebitshy - although I think most of us harbour this paranoia to some degree or other! Best of luck for your scan tomorrow and more importantly, enjoy the look on dd's face when you tell her the good news

Weather here today is toss and 'I'm borrrrreeeed'. What to do? (apart from mn of course )

Hello
Can i join you? Congratulations on all your pregnancys! I have been lurking for a while but because i had a missed miscarriage in August at 10 weeks and lots of bleeding with this pregnancy i was hesitant to join. However, i had a scan today and we saw a beautiful little baby with a strong heart beat. The baby was jumping all over the place on the scan and we could clearly see its fingers, toes, and facial features! According to the scan I am 11.3 weeks.
Lcy x

Hi Lcy. Congratulations. Is it your 1st? Add yourself to the list.

It's so exciting seeing that bouncing baby on the screen. I have my scan on Friday and I can't wait.

I'm 11+3 today aswell

Lcy · 20/01/2008 14:29

Shazza2002 · 20/01/2008 14:43

Yes I have a DD who's 5. I remember being PG first time, I am equally as happy this time but I think there's something more exciting about being PG with your first.

I'm already having worries about will I be able to love this baby as much as I love her, now I know that probably sounds really stupid and once the baby is here it will be fine, and I will love it just as much.

Anybody else having their 2nd feel like that sometimes? Or am I the only weirdo on here

foghorn Excited for you finding out. It never crossed my mind with the 1st and it has a bit more with this one, but still gonna wait for the surprise. I want a girl for practicality reasons (already have one, feel I would know what I'm dealing with and bedroom is currently decorated with fairies and butterflies), but would equally like a boy to have the whole 'one of each', and to even out the household. I have 2 nephews who I'm very close to so don't feel like I would have missed out on little boys growing up, but would still maybe like one of my own. Plus my mum is of the opinion boys are easier to deal with and are more laid back so that is in the back of my mind too

Anyway, enough of me rambling. Just passing the Sunday afternoon why I wait for the roast potatoes to brown

dizzydixies · 20/01/2008 17:00

Hi ladies, hope you've all had good weekends. Have been on house arrest with this whole bed rest thing and am DEMENTED!!!!! I have complete cabin fever which hasn't been helped by yesterday and today actually being dry so we would normally have taken kids out walking with dog.

Back at work tomorrow at 6.45 so praying for insomnia free night or won't be the most pleasant person to deal with tomorrow! have horrible meetings with the bosses and HR as well to sort out problems with my contract and need that done before the find out am pg - time to suck it all in! lol

Welcome Lcy and congrats on pregnancy, getting to your stage after mc is a great sign and don't be too stressed about the bleeding, thats what I'm having and they told me most of the time its ok.

Shazza how is your mum doing? Mine had another chemo course on Thurs but seems to be ok so far.

Foghorn, am trying to convince dh to find out this time too as we did with dd2 and it made it a lot easier - won't be telling kids until really have to though as its a long time for them to wait and patience isn't one of my strong points!!
x

Lcy · 20/01/2008 17:10

Thanks dizzydixies - thankfully the bleeding has stopped for a month now (but i did bleed for the first 3 weeks of pregnancy!).

I also want to know the sex of the baby but DH doesn't - have a while to convince him though!

dizzydixies · 20/01/2008 17:14

am afraid it all comes down to finances and logistics this time!!! If its a boy after 2 dds then I'll have to ditch the clothes etc I've been saving and if its another dd I'll have to find more suitable storage as what is to become the nursery is at moment a dumping ground!!

we didn't find out sex with first dd and it kind of kept me going during labour but knew with dd2!

Shazza2002 · 20/01/2008 17:16

Hi Dizzy.

Sorry you haven't been having a great weekend. The weather really doesn't help either does it. DP has a bout of man flu, so was out with DD all day yesterday. Could have slept standing up at 6pm, managed to stay awake until 9:30pm.

On the plus side, the insomnia seems to be fading so there is hope for you. They say once you get over the 1st trimester it does get easier, and for me as soon as I hit 11 weeks (so not quite over 1st trimester yet) the nausea has gone and not as tired. But of course that just get's me worrying that I'm no longer PG.

Hope you sort your work issues out, it can really play on your mind when things are not great at work. I do a bit of HR at work so if there's anything you need a bit of help with.

My mum is on the mend, only on oxygen for half an hour here and there in the day. So all looking good. Hope things start to look up for your mum too. My mum had masectomy 3 years ago, was really stressful time.

Better go and see if DP wants anything, he has been taking care of me since we found out I was PG so I should return the favour I suppose

alittlebitshy · 20/01/2008 18:19

bleeding. oh no no

Lcy · 20/01/2008 18:25

Are you ok?

dizzydixies · 20/01/2008 19:34

HI Shazza, thanks for offer, I may just get back to you as I have a horrible feeling am about to get shafted!

Alittlebitshy - how are you doing? Is everything ok? Please PLEASE please don't panic, I started bleeding very heavily last tues and it can be quite normal at around the 12wk mark apparently - something to do with the placenta taking over and the afterbirth attaching. Thinking positive thoughts for you whatever is happening I hope you're ok
xx

ChaCha · 20/01/2008 19:39

alittlebitshy - Hey, where are you?!? So hope everything is alright, please let us know. Fingers crossed.

Will catch up with all ur news later x

alittlebitshy · 20/01/2008 21:02

had a gush.
then when i wipe.

will go to my scan tomorrow (private, argh, pay for the pleasure) and see.....

thinking the worst, and imaging all sorts of aches and pains.......

CaptainCaveman · 20/01/2008 21:35

((((albs)))) much easier said than done but try not to worry. Praying for you especially for your scan tomorrow.

Had some odd aches today, around my lower abdomen which I'm guessing is the uterus/ligaments etc stretching. Spots seem to be disappearing - YAY! Fingers crossed
