Thought I’d start this as a follow up from the ‘TTC NOVEMBER 2021’ thread for everyone who got their BFPs! ☺️

@Lumlalim I think it's probably different in different areas. But for me last time, I had an initial call with a midwife where they took some details like the date of your last period to work out your due date. Then I had a booking in appointment around 8 weeks where they take loads of details including you family medical history. Once I'd had that appointment I got given a date for my 12 week scan x

Sjmc16 · 15/12/2021 15:29

Hi all, so happy to be here! I got my BFP on Monday morning and have taken about 10 tests since (I know, I know) have just got a digital positive today so will stop testing now!

Today I’ve got what feel like bad period cramps and have had some light brown discharge when wiping, is this normal?

I’m so scared of everything atm, me and hubby haven’t told anyone and I live far away from my family so struggling a bit Xx

Purple29 · 15/12/2021 16:38

@Sjmc16 congratulations!!! Ive been having the same sort of discharge. Cramps I got with my first, pretty much just changes in the uterus!! The early pregnancy unit told me to just keep an eye and test again 2 weeks after it started. Obviously to call if it went red or there was a lot of pain.

That 2 weeks is up on Monday. But I'm testing every other day and so far still positive. I've been hearing of a few who have had the same.

I'm also in the same boat that we haven't told anyone (except my work as I'm front line) and we stay a distance from family. Hope your all good?

Sjmc16 · 15/12/2021 16:44

Hey @Purple29 congratulations to you too, is this your second?

It’s my first so I’m a bit out in the woods! My cramps feel exactly like period cramps, and there’s the smallest bit of red when I wipe. It’s so hard to not over google things!

I’m just going to try and relax and have a pamper, I can’t do anything else! Xxx

Purple29 · 15/12/2021 17:09

@Sjmc16 yes my DS will be 2 in March. I was so convinced it was my period with him the cramps felt so similar.

I'm trying to relax too, I also had a tiny bit of red, but still getting positive tests so keeping hopeful.

If its still positive on Monday I'm going to push for an early scan. I was always going to be an anxious pregnancy this time around.... little one was 10 weeks early, so I'm scared of the same thing again!!!

Jujules20 · 16/12/2021 06:27

@TH22 Hiya, hope everyone is doing well Smile
How do I go about joining the Facebook group?

Thanxx

Hi I'm having some brown spotting. It started when I was 4+2, and has been going for just over a week.

Epu told me to retest in 2 weeks. I've been doing the cheapies every other day and still positive. Had a strong positive this morning. But spotting looked a little redder and heavier this morning. Has anyone had this and had a healthy pregnancy?! Im so anxious!!!

Caslo · 16/12/2021 08:59

Hey, I'm sorry this is happening to you, it is scary not knowing what's going on. Not wishing to be the bearer of bad news, I had this in July, started spotting a bit of brown on the Saturday when it got worse and turned red before I miscarried on the Tuesday. Don't want to scare you, just give you the tools to prepare for the possibilities. I know that loads of women can spot and bleed throughout their pregnancy and turn out absolutely fine. Difference between your situation and mine is that mine started at 6+3 and ended 3 days later. Perhaps that yours has gone on for a longer duration is a good sign. Can the EPU not offer bloods 48 hours apart to make sure your HCG is increasing as it should? x
Purple29 · 16/12/2021 09:06

@Caslo no they told me it might be a chemical pregnancy so I was to wait the 2 weeks then if still showing positive to call them back. I'm so anxious.

I'm kid of of the mindset that I'm prepared for the worst but hoping for the best!!! My tummy looks very bloated and my boobs are bigger so I'm hoping all of that and a strong positive this morning are all good signs.

Slagathor · 16/12/2021 10:02

Hi, I tested early and got a line that was lighter than the control but very much there. Today is the 26th day and my period usually begins anytime from the 28th to 31st day. Checked twice and both the times it was positive. Will be going to the doctor soon. This is my first time and I am so excited.
My symptoms have been mainly cramps, at irregular intervals, very similar to pms cramps. Breast tenderness and nipple soreness. I also noticed a slight change in taste perception. No other symptoms aside from these.

So excited to be on this journey with you all Smile

summrtime · 16/12/2021 16:34

Hi all, can I join too please? Very surprised to get my BFP on Sunday after about a year of trying. Still can't believe it's real and trying not to get too excited. Due date estimated to be 24 Aug

@Slagathor welcome to the group! Sounds like you have some good symptoms there. Yes this is my first time being part of a group and I hope it to be a fantastic way of keeping in touch as our pregnancies progress. A lot of us already have children which will probably add a fair bit of experience! x

@summrtime welcome to you too. Huge congratulations of your long-awaited BFP. Nothing (apart from holding your newborn) beats the feeling of those two little pink lines Smile enjoy every minute x

Caslo · 16/12/2021 18:07

@Purple29 preparing for the worst and hoping for the best is how I live my life Grin on what date is the 2 weeks up? Think you mentioned Monday? It certainly sounds like you're progressing nicely with those symptoms (I can certainly relate to the bloat) so I have everything crossed you'll be right as rain. I think from the moment you get BFP you're on high alert and I know that since my loss I'm just expecting it to all end in tears any time now x

Purple29 · 16/12/2021 19:04

@caslo yeah im hoping. The positive tests are keeping me going. Yeah my 2 weeks is up on Monday so almost there now!!! The first trimester is the certainly full of anxiety, we question everything. So sorry you've had a loss before. I'm really hoping to get the all clear next week.
I did Google today (worst thing I know) but I was reading about a subchoronic haematoma, certainly sounds very similar to the spotting I'm having and it's good to know that it leads to healthy pregnancy most of the time. Might not be that but im really hoping!!! Surely the lack of cramps is a good sign!!

Purple29 · 16/12/2021 19:06

These groups are a great way to chat with others who are at a similar stage. @Caslo just realised we are the same due date.

Congrats to all on their positives

Caslo · 16/12/2021 20:17

@Purple29 yes you're almost there! Is it me or does time go majorly slow once you've found out you're expecting? Was 2 weeks ago today I got my BFP and because I was only 3+3 it's taken forever just to get to week 5! Yes good spot, 15 August shall be our lucky day. I researched subchorionic hematomas when I started spotting, I booked a last minute scan at 6+3 and she pointed out the dark shadow around the sac and said that could've been what caused the bleeding. I don't think it would've affected the outcome tbh because she only measured me at 5 weeks and I knew my dates were correct. Had the embryo not stopped growing and if it was a normal pregnancy I wonder whether that hematoma would've caused me any issues. Yeah I'd say lack of bad cramping was a very good sign, mine got bad very very quickly which left me no doubt as to what was happening and didn't prolong the inevitable at least. I have a feeling your baby is very happy in there x

AppleTangerine · 16/12/2021 20:41

Can I join? I'm due on the 10 August too.

I have a nearly 3 year old as well.
