The last message I posted seems to have filled up the old thread so I thought I'd start a new one.

Since bump size was our last topic, I thought this might do for a thread title.

OP posts:

Oh I was on the grobag website today (ds needs 18-36 month size now which seems HUGE!) and was SO tempted to buy one of those swaddling grobags!! I couldn't justify it as we managed fine swaddling ds in cellular blankets last time which we still have, but they look SO gorgeous! I will have to work out a way of buying one for myself as a reward for something ...

debinaustria · 22/01/2008 15:34

josey - those swaddling grobags are gorgeous aren't they?

GardenAngel4 · 22/01/2008 15:57

Grobags - oh how cute!!! Think I will get one of those (or big hint to mother in law often works!!) as DD flung blankets off and then when she did sleep I worried she was too cold or too hot in what I'd got her in! Am a huge fan of sleeping bags so the swaddling ones seem ideal.

shazza let us know how it goes if you get the chance! Are you on a different thread now? An august one ?xxx

Shazza2002 · 22/01/2008 15:59

gardenangel I'm on the August one, along with sarahn and foghorn so I have some company from the TTC thread

josey · 22/01/2008 16:28

I love those swaddling grow bags, im deff going to buy one, both my dcs broke free of the blankets so I used grow bag for dd but the swaddling is great for breast feeding, that baby is soo cute as well you can almost get the newborn baby smell when you look at the pic hehe!
I have also found a belly casting kit for £19, though not planning on doing it till sometime in may, It will be nice to look back on when Im having a fat day and think well hey i used to be that big
Im not going to buy anything until I have the other scan which and I know what we are having after I had DD i was so excited at buying pink things I made dh take me shopping when she was 5days old and she had hords of stuff already

systemsaddict · 22/01/2008 16:41

Can I ask a silly question josey - what does one do with a belly cast? Is it something you display in the living room like sculpture, or something you hide in the bedroom closet? I have never quite worked out where one would go in my house!

josey · 22/01/2008 16:53

SA will prob keep mine in a box in the garage lol just fancy doing it for a giggle to be honest but knowing my hord free DH he wont let me do it haha

claphamkitten · 22/01/2008 17:05

I just love those swaddling growbags!!! So cute. Might have to get one of those, even though I'm really trying to be good...

Love the idea of a bump cast too - but same prob... where on earth would you put it? Might be a bit embarassing to hang it in the lounge! x

Parofleurmapu · 22/01/2008 18:45

Hello all

Been busy last two days teacher away so its been me and 25 kids all alone for past two days, no supply teachers or help over here!!

Also been catching up with studies for exams which are next sat!! Havent really been doing well with studies as mil took a tuen for the worse and is in hospital df has taken it quite babdly which upsets me as he never cries shows emotion etc. And its quite hard to know what to say but hopefully she will be out at end of week and they can control the pain etc so she can have a bit of normal life for a while again.

Congrats on joining the girls club! China

And Josey i have a bump cast that i got df for xmas going to do it sometime soon hehe!!! Its from company called www.babyart.eu

Well off to walk dog on the beach

GardenAngel4 · 22/01/2008 19:34

Blimey, I've just been on some of the babynames threads - people get so opinionated!!!

We are struggling for boys names, so went looking for some inspiration. Have lots of girls names......

systemsaddict · 22/01/2008 19:54

Tee hee - just raised the notion of a bump cast with dp and his mate, on their way off to play Tuesday night football - you have never seen two such confused / aghast faces LOL! Must be a girl thing!!

debinaustria · 22/01/2008 19:58

SA - you might have got a different response if you'd said boob cast!!!!

systemsaddict · 22/01/2008 20:39

LOL deb, might suggest that when he gets back!

Upsidedowncake · 22/01/2008 21:35

Hi everyone

Been crazy at work and missed a lot of good debate.

Josey, love the idea of bellycasts although would be too shy to do it myself. But could you photograph your cast and put it on your profile page? That way, we could enjoy it even if teh real thing sits in the garage!

Gender - so glad it's not just me. I'm undecided. I want another ds as ds is so wonderful, and I'm slightly concerned that I might have issues with a dd as my mother had issues with me. But on the other hand, I would like one of each flavour, I'd love to have a girl to share things with and it would be a good opportunity for growth iykwim. Anyway, we hope to find out at the scan on Feb 11th. Three weeks to go!

josey · 22/01/2008 22:15

SA they give you enough stuff to stick your boobies in there as well so you get the full effect tell your DP he would get to get messy with them see how that takes the confusion away teehee.
upsidedown If i do it I will post a pic on profile though I might have to put a scarf round the boobies bit to cover my modisty
I just thought it might be fun for years to come I have pic of bumps with my other 2 but i still cant remember how big i actually was, could be entertaining to strap it on for dc's 18th birthday

debinaustria · 22/01/2008 22:33

Oh your poor child on their 18th birthday Josey

ernest · 23/01/2008 07:44

good morning.

omg I'm so tired. I just phoned dss new school to be and couldn't remember how old ds1 is honestly she asked and I just said 'he's 8. Or 9. or something. anyway, he'll be in year 5 in September'. I still haven't worked it out. I'm so tired. All else is ok but this tiredness is just so overwhelming. I had about 2 weks break, but otherwise... I just can't foresee another 20 weeks of this

My sil is really suffering from the grief of losing her mum, but isn't really calling to talk anymore cos she knows I'm so tired. And every pm almost I'm having to dump the boys and go to bed, yet I'm still so tired.

Anyway. enough.

belly cast. sorry, resounding 'no' from me. really. just more tut cluttering up the place. But then I am moving house soon, so tempted to just leave everything and live in a tent for the rest of my life.

oh, and final word - my breasts - bloody hell. they're getting embarrassing. I'm used to being small and modest (34B/36A) but am now bursting out of 36DD. I seem to have acres of cleavage on display and am . Was at docs yesterday and got back in and saw myself in mirror. crikey. I amazed he was able to maintain eye contact. I do not remember such expansion before. Pity they'll shrivel up and disappear again once they've served their role.

debinaustria · 23/01/2008 08:43

HI Ernest, sorry to hear you're feeling so tired, are you sleeping at night, or is it broken sleep? Maybe baby's having a huge growth spurt(along with your boobs) and that's why you're so tired or maybe it's just because most of the time you're on your own with 3 boys to look after

I still have half an hour on the settee most afternoons and that keeps me going but I don't remember needing it in the last 2 pregnancies but then again with my advanced age it's not surprising.

I'm sure your SIL understands, one of the problems we have is people forgetting the time difference and calling at 9/9.30 UK time for a chat and it's bedtime here.

Any chance of a sleep in the mornings,, are all the boys out any morning for the same time?Make sure you set your alarm though!!

makecakesnotwar · 23/01/2008 09:10

Less of the ageism Deb- I'm relatively young and only have adog to chase after during the day but still need a rest during the day....

I have this odd area on my left thigh that is tingly/numb if I stand for too long and often if I lie down for too long also. Apparently my mum had exactly the same thing when pregnant with us, and still has it. What joys I have to look forward to.

I also wanted to ask if anyone here has SPD...can't remember....had a couple of questions.

Morning all- anyone else shocked about Heath Ledger????

sophiewd · 23/01/2008 09:14

shocked and sad about Heath Ledger.

Ernest and Deb - I still mlike a snooze in the afternoon It fits in well with DD who still has quite a long sleep then as well.

And wait for it ladies, child benefit has gone up by a whopping 70p a week Woo Hoo

ernest · 23/01/2008 09:54

I've been going to be for a good 2 or 3 hours every pm but still am totallly wrecked. I spoke to sil earlier to see how she was and she asked how I was and I burst into tears f**ing hell, it's just so debilitating being so tired you can't even remember how old your ds is. I'm still not dressed and ir's nearly 11.

nettiehay · 23/01/2008 10:48

I am quite envious of all you who are able to nap in the afternoons! I am struggling to stay awake at my desk most days...but everyone is very accomodating and expect work in the mornings when I am awake, mostly I do brainless filing in the afternoons - that way I don't have to think!
I am also quite shocked about Heath Ledger - he has a little girl with his partner (that girl from Dawson's Creek whose name I can never remember!). I can't imagine how his family must be feeling - maybe I am a little over sympathetic at the moment because I am quite sad for them and wouldn't normally be so emotional about a 'celebrity'. In addition - he was on my list (you know - the list of 5 celebrities you are allowed to sleep with from Friends - sad I know ).

goingfor3 · 23/01/2008 11:07

ernest I'm sorry you are feeling so tired. I had been feeling less tired but yesterday after school I took the girls into london and feel shattered as a result, the girls on the other hand were wide awake and breakfasted before I could even open my eyes this morning!

I went to a local boutique this morning and bought baby girl three pairs of gorgeous soft cotton trousers, they were a real bargin as they had a 70% sale on. I also bought a box to keep all of her clothes in a realised as I was putting stuff into it that M&S up to 1 month is slightly bigger than Greenababy 0-3 in babygros. That was such a lovely thing to sort out unfortunatley I have to know put away about 2 weeks worth of washing that is pilled up on the spare bed as my mum is comming to stay in a couple of hours!

claphamkitten · 23/01/2008 11:55

I agree Nettiehay! So jealous of all you lot who are able to have lie-ins and afternoon naps! It's so hard to keep getting up for work and trying to be interested when you don't really care anymore and would rather be at home sorting out baby stuff and reading baby books - but obviously won't mention that one to the boss! Roll on maternity leave...

Does anyone know when you can officially start taking maternity leave...?

x

ernest · 23/01/2008 12:10

You can swap and come and look after 3 dc on your own if you prefer. I guess you'll be running back to your nice boring offices pretty quick!

Seriously, this tiredness is an inhuman bone gnawing exhaustion, and a clear punishment for not having ms.
